Does it fly on fairy dust?

Look in the ears nigga.

Do you not know how helicopters work? Those are the intakes for the turbine engines. Not for controlling the yaw of the aircraft.

yes

Okay, then it's all good.

That's what the side MGs are for

Uh... no that's okay. Really, we are totally fine here. Please don't send the cat helicopter thing sir.

In theory, you could turn it into a jump take-off gyrocopter. The buried turbines/ducted fans in the ears could provide anti-torque with differential thrust.

You could go full retard and do away with the tail rotor with enough forward speed and a fuckhueg airfoil vertical stabilizer.

The turbines on helicopters do not provide thrust at all, they are connected to a mechanic drive system that tern the props.... So there is no theory there.

>No tail rotor
>Still can fly.

Checkmate.

How and why? Is that big pod on the tail housing reaction wheels?

It uses a turbine to force gases through jets in the rear housing of the "tail rotor," sometimes called a notar

That's fucking rad, thanks for teaching me things user.

Still has tail force. So you didn't really argue anything.

>jump take-off gyrocopter
not a helicopter

Also, in a gyrodyne or those new US High Speed Helicopter trial machines, there would be an element of forward propulsion.

>2 of them made anime
>A third one will make anime real

Better glass the whole country to the sea floor then

bitchin car

It's called the NOTAR (no tail rotor) system. It works by having a ducted fan which pushes air out of a variable nozzle at the end of the boom, but also along the boom. The air exits only on one side along the boom which creates a high pressure zone on one side. This pushes the downwash to other side, so that a counter-rotating torque is created. The nozzle at the end is for fine control.

Brainlet here. Is this still useful in 2k19? Is it good just for helicopters or may take down planes as well?

Proof that animeposting faggots are harder dual citizens of reddit and 4channel than Israeli-American foreign operatives.

yes and no.
Pilots fear them like nothing else because they don't have big radars you can throw HARMs at, so if one is fired at you (which happens from close range) you are very fucked and probably dead.
On the other hand the range on these things is abysmal.

If you don't like anime then why are you on Jow Forums?

>does it run on fairy dust
it runs on Sandstar, you fucking idiot

I'm on Jow Forums to talk about weapons with the user image board format. Why is this so hard to understand?

Attached: muhanimewebsite.jpg (1368x798, 345K)

OP picture has weapons in it. Your problem is what exactly?

They have a very short range, but a lot of them are nearly impossible to jam and evade.
That means it's difficult for the MANPAD operators on the ground to get a clear shot, but if they manage to get off a good shot, then the pilot of the Helicopter or CAS airplane is royally fucked.

So you chose the imageboard that has anime in its DNA? You know there are other imageboards out there, right?

the D is on the way

Huh. I kinda like it, looks like a russian A-10

Again, those engines put out zero thrust. They are what drives a gear that turns the main blades...

>A-10/Mil-24 hybrid.

This is it, we've reached the peak of flying armored agricultural equipment and created the uncontested god of multipurpose CAS.

>zero thrust
Not exactly. Even the tiny PT-6 makes 100 lbs of exhaust thrust.

how original

No it doesn't. You're just exploiting the board rules by posting garbage threads with the excuse "hurr durr there's a poorly drawn pistol in it", or something along the lines. You obviously don't want to talk about weapons. Go to the anime boards if you want to post your anime so much.
