Planning on building an AR-15 for just some fun at the range with my brother. You guys think I could build one for around 500 if it isn't for anything serious, just some fun at the range?

That's where I was planning on getting my upper from, should I also get my lower from there as well?

You could do it for less than that if you do a PSA build with a cheap lower. Get one of PSA's freedom rifle kits on sale and you could do the whole project for $300-350
Don't let the fags here sell you an overpriced lower either, for your purposes a lower is a lower.

Might as well buy it all from the same place to save shipping.

Alright, those 300 blackout uppers look so tempting, might have to get one after i get it built first.

Go to an LGS and buy an anderson lower they're like 50-60 dollars and the PSA kit for 260. Get an old carry handle from the same LGS and a magazine and you should be done for less than 350

How much would it cost to mill my own lower? I'm interested in building one from an 80%.

Unless you want it off book, or have the tools already, an 80% won't save you money. Buy a cheap stripped lower locally so you don't have to pay shipping and transfer, and a PSA kit. $350, $400 tops. You already have all the tools you'll need to assemble it.

It's expensive to shoot and a suppressor is $1000 and 9 months of waiting

don't do it

>$1000
quit being poor
>9 months
looooooooooooool poorfags actually believe this.

>Says the guy who is buying a $500 AR

DONT DO IT
GET MID LENGTH FFS

Not OP but what length barrel is best for 5.56? I keep hearing 16" but I want a shorter one. I don't want .300 because fuck that expensive shit

gotta say I'm impressed. 17 posts in and no gucci fag chiming in to call people "poors" for liking PSA. they must too busy sucking each other off in the ARG general.

gotta feed your new fun Op.

It depends. For velocity, around 22". If you are looking for a "rifle", it's going to be 16" (unless you are okay with a pinned and welded muzzle device, then it goes down to 14.5"). If mobility is key, an 11.5" AR pistol is best in 5.56

Ive got a 16" and an 18". I prefer the 18".

Yeah, because PSA can *ahem* only pump out pure trash, right?

Monitor your credit cards. I've bought a number of things from them before and figured it was an old meme. I ordered some mags and ammo a few days ago and got a call today saying someone charged around 10k to my card from a designer clothing store.

PSA all day.
Upper was $379
Lower was $139
Added a DDM4 Rail for $365
Added a Geseille SSA-E for $250
Added a SilencerCo ASR for $92

I bought a PSA .22 pistol upper and LPK for just under $400 with free shipping. Then bought a striped Poverty Pony lower for $35. Added a cheap red dot and was able to keep the cost under $500.

It's nothing serious but it is a stupid amount of fun.

Not trying to get all /arg/ on you, but you spent $365 on a rail and $250 on a trigger, and couldn't find $120 for an SBA3 to replace that fugly SOB brace?

Maybe he likes it?

Oh boy, reject FN barrels.

>t. gunny from budsgunshop

>fn would willingly and ostentatiously put their name on a bad barrel

Maybe not bad, but mediocre.
FN has those sweet military contracts, they don't pleb civilian money anyway.

SBA3 looks retarded thats why I got this one

How do you feel about the PDW brace? It's obvious you can afford one.

Not a fan of that look. I prefer one that looks like the MOE stock. Those all look like they belong on a subgun. IIRC this year at ShotShow they showed an upcoming adjustable version of this one that i might get.

Advise against

If this is fns mediocre, then damn. I'll take it.
