Anyone have experience with the KAK 12.5 mid gas barrel? I've got an extra upper receiver and 12 inch hand guard sitting around. I'm wondering if it will still be gassy with a can on it... Everyone makes stupid 10" barrels...

Seems like you'd literally have to put a can on it if the gas port is anywhere near a normal size. That's like 2" of dwell time. Or ream that fucking hole out to .01 and beat the shit out of your bolts lol

In my experience with kak barrels they are a little overgassed even with an H2 buffer and sprinco blue.

My 14.5 carbine and my 14.5 mid length feel basically the same. On the other hand my friends 16” PSA mid length is the softest shooting rifle I’ve ever handled aside from a 6.5mm Swedish Mauser.

Bummer, I have a voodoo 14.5 mid that is still a little overgassed.... I really don't want to have to screw with adjustable gas blocks.

It's probably still salvagable if you have the right sized hex bit, otherwise do whatever to get it out and either buy a replacement screw or whole new gas block.

What load are you using? My trailboss and 1680 loads won't even unlock the bolt. 300blk is cool if you want a pistol and you reload.

Yes, the hex opening on top is 100% stripped. Looks like maybe he tried drilling it out to use an extractor bit.
The gas block itself is actually slightly loose and can wiggle back and forth a bit except that the set screw is blocking it from sliding off.

ya know i had just watched a video of subsonic ammo that would cycle in an sr25 the other day which got me onto this train of thought, and now i can't find it.

Yeah, try a screw extractor or just try and cut that gas block off, it's toast already.
