It’s been so long once anyone’s had a near peer naval war, so it’s hard to say, though I’d expect Japan to be in the fight as well. They have just as little reason to like China than everyone else in the region. From what little experience I have I’d imagine a very lively submarine war with both sides’ boats doing their damndest to find/sink each other and their opponent’s surface combatants, with Chinese surface forces hesitant to stray beyond mainland air and AA cover and US/Japanese/South Korean forces treading lightly at the edges until significant work on neutralizing that advantage can be done.
