So here's the thing. Never serveds and POGs can have their own issues, but people who've done actual tours of combat can be pretty retarded too.

Take this for example, buddy of mine served in Marine infantry. Very fit and the nicest guy you'll ever meet, and is a crack shot with an AR. But he couldn't for the life of me tell me how the AR worked beyond basic field stripping and cleaning. Couldn't name 3/4ths of the parts or what they were for. He didn't know that the AR was a direct impingement gas system, or even what a direct impingement gas system was. He didn't know anything about the different type of ammunition used by an AR, such as the difference between XM193 and XM855, or even the difference between 5.56 and .223. Oh, and he also thought Vism plates were good.

The point is, military experience is excellent, especially combat experience. Just don't think it will turn you into some almighty warrior-poet who is automatically superior to every other homo sapien out there.

The military is filled with young people that do just as much partying if not more dude. Plus lots end up going to college getting a degree debt free

Nothing against the civis on Jow Forums, but few things are as pathetic as untrained civis ripping on POG's, or the military in general for that matter. The only people allowed to make fun of POG's are people who have training to back it up. Many soldiers in WWII saw one or two big battles and that was it. They went to the rear, and back to the front. My unit, we spent 15 months on an OP on Baghdad on the ground EVERYDAY, no rear. Did I storm Normandy? No. Am I comparing myself to solduers of past? No. Am I a warrior? You fuckin right, because I know I can handle the adrenaline/fear enough to continue mission. It's the longevity of the conflict, how long you spend on the ground, and the amount of various shit I've been in that wears on you after awhile. EFPs, RPG(constant), SAF(PKs, SVDS) ain't no joke. You made oil companies and defense contractors rich though, as well as pleased some Israeli and Saudi politicians. In Baghdad we couldn't get CAS or armed drones. Best we got was Apaches, which is still really effective. Most of our kills were from 240b, some from Apache, well quite a few, and a few from our sister platoon that had Bradley's
