JTAC/TCAP/ALOs/etc generally aren't in direct combat and might need to swap channels or do admin stuff so front mounting makes it more accessible.

You can use comtacs under a full cut if the helmet is properly sized however it's easier with midcuts.

/gq/ what do I do for a good radio setup. I have a later model baofeng that I use now. Mainly just scanning and receiving. I’m not very versed in comms stuff, I can make it do the basics but I’m honestly a little scared of transmitting on it.

Is there another option? Something a little more fire and forget that can be set up for 2 to 3 people?

The folding handle lets you grab the cup while your hand is further from the heat source. The dual ring style is a more stable grip.

I don't really know, I've never owned one. What is a reticle used for on a spotting scope? I always use a friends and realized it would greatly increase my quality of life at the range trying to zero sights and stuff so I want to get a nice one.

AR500 Plates require a left hand/right hand advanced shooter's cut...and the designated "Back" plates only come flat instead of curved.

If you order a plate for your back should you order the opposite-hand cut of what you'd normally order?

Generally we recommend against steel for substantial reasons that we have covered many times here. If you must go steel then I recommend VRaptor Armorworks for poorfags and Premiere for non-poorfags. Do not get bedliner for the spall coating. Get a purpose built spall containment system such as pic related. More info incoming.

Pic related is an incident from a reputable tripfag here. At the low end we usually recc Hesco 4400 plates, though they apparently had some fail recently. I personally like the Highcom 4S17 and the multicurve 4S17m.
