I wanted to go against my better judgement of what may be cringe, I was thinking about writing a script for a Jow Forums inspired movie.
What would be some do's and do'ts for my target audience here?

I think a skin walker story would be pretty cool. I wouldn’t make the main characters Jow Forumsommandos though, they’d have to be relatable. I know we’re on Jow Forums but don’t have too many guns. A good example of a similar style horror movie with guns is the “Chernobyl Diaries.” If you feel the need to write in some guns I’d have a game warden or some deepwoods camper that’s Jow Forums based. I’d take notes from “the ritual” on Netflix but have it be more like a small group of skinwalkers. I’d keep the Native American witch magic themes instead of making them like something of nature. It might be a good way to write in some final run-in where the main character stumbles upon some kind of elder chief witch/wizard. Pick a location with historical skinwalker sightings or missing people-not one that’s just familiar to you. Don’t add campy themes/tropes.
Netflix is good for this. They’re producing a fuckton of moderate budgeted artsy flicks and horror always works for that.

But I wanted the opening to become somewhat like this. Sorry in advance for not knowing how to write a script.
Setting: Backyard Deck attached to a steel container building
*three men sit in lawn chairs each holding a rifle while one smokes*
*all three have neutral bored looks one their faces*
*scene cuts to the edge of the woods followed by a rustling inside nearby bushes*
Man one: "What do you think that is?"
Man two: "I wouldn't worry about it."
Man one: "That's not funny."
*A small skin walker charges the three*
Man three: *fires a single shot that wipes it out instantly*
Man one: "Good call"
*cue music posted earlier*

Just a thought but some realism when it comes to injuries would be cool. Like if someone gets a leg injury and bleeds out via artery/someone having fucked up looking broken fingers after a run-in with the skinwalkers.

*they stayed another night because doggo is missing*
*he hears it bark in the distance and goes deeper into woods*-wendigo trickery
“It’s ok girl”-calls out to dog
*backdrop is beautifle nature-a pond nearby*
*shes eating some product placement nuts or jerkey*-funding
-Camper begins to be assaulted
*woman freaks out inside-crying*
*suddenly assault stops*
“It’s ok girl”-husbands voice
*wife opens camper door to see mangled husbands body on the ground*
*skinwalker rushes in camper and mauls her*
-boom now ya got a scary antagonist that people know is not a normal nature monster and know it can replicate voices.

Maybe hunters. SHTF and skinwalkers is a little convoluted-what relevance would a rare innawoods monster have to the fall of society? Maybe it’d work to have them fleeing into the woods from riots and landing in wendigo territory.
