what is it?

Puh, Not for plebs.

Killdozer

Something that will remain a mystery to the illiterate

It's the only thing that kept the Japs from invading New Zealand. They were scared of it.

In all seriousness, it's a pragmatic and ingenious design. The thing is that it's better than having no armored vehicles at all, and tractors could be easily converted at a moment's notice in the case of an invasion. Multiple conversion kits were produced for that purpose.

it didnt stop trench warfare though..... not really an innovation. tanks with actual artillery cannons did affect field artillery in a way

FACT: Even after the introduction of the Mark I, trench warfare continued for another 2 years on the western front
FACT: there has not seen a single instance of trench warfare on New Zealand soil since the introduction of the Bob Semple

a "tank" built on a tractor chassis

its flaws are apparent from its stupid design
>abnormally heavy for its specifications
>thin sheet metal construction can be penetrated by rifle rounds even on the front
>top speed comparable to churchill tank
>no cannon armament, only 7 machine guns
>vibrations made firing any weapon on the move impossible
>firing while stationary was lack lustre due to lack of visibility and cramped interior
>extremely cramped interior combined with extremely large crew, one crew member had to lie prone
>exposed engine inside the crew compartment meant the prone crew member was separated from the engine only by a mattress
>incredibly unreliable

the "tank" was used only once on parade, where it was greeted by enthusiasm and cheering

>only 7 machine guns
>only

He's probably an ork.
Not enough dakka.

For a post that took 10 seconds to write, I have to go through and least 30 seconds of selecting crosswalks, traffic lights, buses, store fronts, motorcycles, cars, stairs and generic vehicles.

It's serves as a great example of what happens when you let Kiwis design weapons on their own.

WTF are you talking about? It was a piece of shit put together as a last ditch effort against the Japs. New Zealand lacked the manufacturing infrastructure to make actual tanks so this was proposed as an alternative, using easily acquired components, that approximately fulfilled the role of an AFV. If you think it would have been effective, you should read a book, because you can't come in here pretending to be an expert on WWII, because there are real experts here who will catch you out, you have been warned.

Give it a break.

It was a last ditch defense weapon designed by a public works bureaucrat.

The Samurai fears the Semple.
