For the people who don't want a front sight except for when they maybe do.

Because some people don't use their rifles and don't need the gas block pinned on.

People are indecisive

Probably so folks can throw a flip up front sight on if they want to. A front sight mounted to the barrel will theoretically "follow" the barrel as it shifts from heat. There are also concerns about handguard mounted front sights, since pressure on the handguard will cause some degree of deflection. Everyone it seems has pretty much moved towards just having the front sight on the handguard regardless since most handguards are fairly sturdy and you can have a longer rail, not to mention iron sights are now almost always a secondary backup. "Gas block height" front sights were common back in the day for use with these gas blocks with 1913 rails, but you hardly see them anymore.

Flip up hard sites for a backup.

Why not talk instead about the companies that don't have these gas blocks line up with the receiver rail?

for offset buis when you run a red dot or a scope you stewpid faggot

clamp on blocks work just as good mr nogunz

Name a sight that reaches standard AR iron height from a low profile railed gas block.

flashlight

/thread

agreed. why would anybody want AR bullshit platform?

enjoy putting lasers and flashlights on it? hahaha

Midwest Industries and Troy might still make some. There used to be more but they died out when people realized you could just have a longer top rail or have a higher gas block rail.

It was an unfortunate result of flip-up sights gaining popularity before freefloat rails really came onto the scene. As soon as freefloat was an established entity anyone not a complete normiefag ditched railed GBs like a bad habit.

I still think gas block sights are better than free floated. Did you learn nothing from Railgate, guccifag?

Transfers too much heat to the poor flashlight

>That helmet

topkek

Jesus that looks like one of those $30 chink special dots you can get in Walmart.

For a flashlight, duh.

the entirety of the picture makes me think it's airshit

Anyone with a brain realizes if you want iron sight accuracy, the front post needs to index directly with the barrel. Floating rail mounted buis are nothing but last ditch backup
