Multicam isn't even owned by the US military its owned and made by Crye. That being said OCP (operational camo pattern) Is the US Army's current pattern which is just an enlarged lighter ripoff of Multicam becauyse they didn't wanna pay so much for all infantry to have the real stuff. If anything multicam is totally fine to wear now since anyone can buy it. As for marpat I would advise against wearing that even if its just the pants since you have to earn that pattern and its unique to Marines. Yeah, sailors on a small craft probably want real camo, sailors on an aircraft carrier want visibility for safety purposes, etc.
