Just wipe it down with an oily rag. Don't fuck with it any further than that.

Holy shit user that’s a fucking Kolibri. They only made around 1000 of those

i can timestamp if u guys dont belive me

If this is real, preserve that gun. Use 3 in 1 oil and some brass wool for any thick rust and keep it oiled well. Don't shoot it either. They are very rare.

i'm assuming this is some kind of meme bait thread, but on the off chance it's legit, that is an incredibly rare and now famous gun. It's also useless as a gun. Incredibly delicate, literally made by a watchmaker.

Be careful with it.

i have posted a timestamp to prove it my post is real and not bait

DO NOT attempt to sand off or use steel wool on any rust. The only thing you need to do is wipe it down with an oily rag. Clean motor oil or light machine oil (like 3-in-1) are OK

Perfect for hunting mice in confined spaces

here is what it is worth. DO NOT SAND OR ALTER IT

This

>Jow Forums actually finds great grandpappy's unicorn gun

I strongly suggest not doing anything except take it to a reputable exotic/antique gunsmith that can be held liable if they fuck it up, then once cleaned up professionally store it as an actual and proper family heirloom.

Or you could sell it for cash money, it's your property after all and anyone telling you what to do with it is just mad jelly they can't make the decision themselves.

Do not listen to this user. Take it to a profesional who can preserve it. Not your local gunsmith, unless he specialises in this. And for god sakes do not scrub it with steel wool.

>claims to not know what gun it is
>aptly named the file after the gun
Uh huh, sure dude.

I mean, it literally says kolibiri on the side

i mean i know it is kolibri i just dont know much about it rather than its an old gun.

i will probably not sell it beacuse it has sentimental value for me and a history with my great great grandfather besides the gun we also found an old oficir uniform sadly it was damaged by those bugs that eat clothes

best I can do is $25

It's extremely valuable and collectible but if you sand it or modify it that will ruin the gun and the value. Take it to an expert on antique arms for proper restoration, or if you can't do that, wipe it down with an oily rag and store it in a climate controlled area

The meme of all memes
Please get it restored by a professional if its a legal firearm in your country.

tbqh id rather own one of those than an MP5. thats a pure unicorn ya got there man.

I wouldn't sell it either unless I needed the funds badly. 3.5k is a good chunk of money, but it's a piece of your family history and the value of it will only go up slowly over time anyway

Still waiting on OP making some meme reply like "I've decided I want to cerakote in neon green" or "I just welded on a Picatinny rail lol"

why i didnt came here to ridicule the gun i came here to maybe find some anwsers and thats it

Holy fuck

>officer in the austro-hungarian army
Your ancestor was on the right side on the war user, cherish this family heirloom and keep it in your blood line

god damn, imagine if he got a confirmed kill with a fucking Kolibri

Put it in bleach and CLR and sand the fuck out it to get rid of any rust

only take it to someone who can professionally restore it, these are extremely rare

Hey let me bring a buddy in first to check it out. It’s not that I don’t trust you, it’s that I don’t trust anyone haha.

i dont know anything about it rather that the gun and the uniform and some medals were given back to my family beacuse back in the WW1 my great great grandfather died in the isonzo battle by italians on august of 1917

offcourse if you need any more pictures just say

DO NOT TAKE ANY ABRASIVES TO IT no sandpaper no steel wool, no scotch brite scuff pads
no "rust converter" no naval jelly none of that shit
just like with a rare old coin, you can totally ruin the value by doing an amateur conservation job on it.
on the premise that this is real and not just op shitposting, it is worth it to take to a real conservator
hell, even if it is shitposting, its a cool shitpost, OP.

i can assure you it is not a shitpost i did a timestamp i can do it again with a picture of this thread....i wanted to ask if somebody knows that kind of a weapon preservist in Europe that would be very helpfull

Incredibly fucking cool find. Unless it's explicitly legal to own, and you have experience navigating the legal hurdles as a gun owner already Id preserve it with a nice coat of
>RENAISSANCE WAX (same shit used by Royal Armory to preserve their collection)
>dab of food safe grease applied with qtip in barrel to coat it good.
Then Id not fuck with it and keep it secret.

Id recommend cleaning it but be extremely careful so you don't damage any of the parts. Don't use steel while cleaning of the rust and the finish wont get damaged, if you use a softer metal like brass or copper wool then it should just remove the rust if you're gentle. Definitely remove the rust so it doesnt get worse. Afterwards store it in a sealed box with oxygen absorbers and don't get it confiscated.

babby gun :DDDDDDD

great great grandfather confirmed manlet

HOLY FUCK

where are you from? is this in america?

based

he says his relative fought for the austro hungarians, so probably mainland yurop

I am from europe yes

If you don’t cum on that thing and post a pic of it before donating it to a museum, we will be sorely disappointed in you.

Neat.

funny guy a ?

are you going to tell your relatives or just steal it from them
which is usually the case with asshole family members
