I'm incredibly jealous of your manly hands OP.

I've had the Endura 4 for as long as I can remember. It's been through a lot with me, including me learning how to sharpen, and come out strong.

Did you grind that angle yourself?

No, I Just had not a fucking clue what I was doing as a teenager. I'm amazed all that happened was some idiot scratches.

Jelly of that green grip.

solid knife for the price, just a bit disappointed by edge retention, my A1 in vg10 takes a beating on trees and still shaves like a razor

It's ok

Here's one of my latest and favorite knives

Attached: IMG_20190218_180300.jpg (4608x3456, 3.78M)

Yours is a pm2, his is a pm3.

In my opinion, the pm2 is the best knife available, at any cost. Nothing beats it, available in any combination of scales (after market) and steel.
That said, nothing wrong with a more expensive knife like a 940.

Having both I'd say it's a draw

Another one I really like is the Spyderco native series

My favorite EDC is still the Benchmade 940-2. Very slim, very light and it has a very large and capable blade in a super steel.

I edc a leftie pm2. Just got into knives, but since knifemakers hate left-handers, I currently have no plans to buy anything else.

I cut my hand playing five-finger filet with my knife and I'm not sure how to clean it. It's a foldable knife and blood is all on the inside. Does anybody know how to clean it without damaging the knife? I plan on having a FFF tournament soon as well, so it needs to be properly sanitized to prevent disease.

:(
i've never been able to find the lefty pm2 on sale

Got one of these two days ago with the G10 scales, very light. Pretty nice so far but the grind is uneven and the pocket clip is retardedly stiff.

noice trips!
also, i hope you didn't pay more than $15

soap and water

shit ain't complicated

Had these two knives for awhile now. Really nice flip knives that I sharpen monthly.

Any ganzo with buying?

Everyone here hates gurber but I don’t

Good thing about gerber is their life time warranty.
Bad thing about gerber is you're gonna need that life time warranty.
I've sent in 2 separate multi tools for warranty and seen several people with broken knives or tools that apparently didn't know about the warranty or were too lazy to send it in.
I have that same knife, it's fun to play with and one of their better designs.

Been carrying this since I got it.

Attached: 20190206_210125.jpg (3733x1617, 2.92M)

Very nice, which model?

That’s a spydie chef.

I got one as a pure food prep knife for camping. It’s all titanium and had a rustproof blade. It’s very thin and is made to hold like a chef knife

I have heard benchmades QC is hit or miss, in that when you get a hit it's great forever but a miss can result in serious mechanical issues, like springs on the axis lock breaking, which sounds dangerous as fuck.
How has your luck been, as someone with a bunch of them?

i have the F761, great slicer, good in hand.

Attached: IMG_0319.jpg (3264x2448, 1.98M)

thats one of the few Spydercos that i actually would buy.

i'm going to dye those scales soon.

Attached: IMG_0692.jpg (2448x3264, 1.79M)

Here’s a my but of “just as good” but I’m happy with the value of these 2 Chinese Spiderco knives. Paid about $40 ea. I have a worksharp and get a very keen edge on them and they hold that edge more than well enough for an edc folding knife. Having a hard time justifying buying an American made knife, but I will eventually, just don’t know why.

Hello, Jow Forums
Is damascus steel a huge fucking meme? I want to buy my dad a really nice knife as a gift, and one of the options I'm considering is a CR Mnandi with damascus. He's somewhat into knives, enough to be able to appreciate damascus beyond "ooh it's pretty", but I also want him to be able to use the knife. Is damascus durable enough to stand up to actual use, albeit light (boxes, envelopes, cutting up fruit/sandwiches at work maybe, idk what other shit he might do with it desu), or is it basically just ornamental? everything I found online basically reads like ad copy for damascus steelmakers

Yea it’ll cut boxes, paper, fruit and sandwiches. Might wanna wear eyepro tho, bc you never know.

Ive carried a douk douk for about 3 years now. Best knife I've ever used. Slim profile. Simple spring lock. Holds a great edge. The big one is brand new just came in today

Attached: image.jpg (4032x3024, 2.25M)

Lol fair enough, but i guess my question isn't whether or not it'll cut them, I suppose it's whether or not using it to slice open amazon boxes and packaging and shit will cause it to wear at such a rate he constantly needs to get it sharpened or not. I don't assume so, but it seems like it could absolutely be a meme to me, so I thought I'd check. The tone of your answer does actually convey useful information though, whether or not it was meant to be insulting, so I thank you either way fren

Damascus is the way it’s made, not necessarily the properties of the end result. It’s made in many different specs that are comparable to other blade steels. All Damascus has a unique look to it, so if that’s all you wan, there are high quality and low quality examples of it.

I already have an edc folding knife...
But.. I'm starting to crave to collect knives.

I'm so close to getting a böker kwaiken flipper.

What can I do to hold back?

Don’t mined me. Just throwing some flavor into this soup.

Attached: 0698094D-D6CE-470D-A203-9C9AF668AF59.jpg (4032x3024, 1.68M)

Which one do you own?

Oh, shit, thanks user, this I did not know, I thought the technique necessitated a certain type of steel/always produced similar results! I feel much safer about buying this now, as I'm certain CR would source a high quality damascus in that case.

Lionsteel Daghetta.

Para 3 is a great knife for EDC
The blade is a little thin so I am worried it might break if it's used for anything other than opening boxes
Bought myself a benchmade crooked river for hunting season last fall and it was 10/5
Cleaned 3 deer without even needing to be sharpened and could still trim hair from my arm when I was done
Any decent knife recommendations between 100-200 dollar range?

My favorite edc for a while now.

Attached: knife.jpg (1002x752, 302K)

Just wish the price would as more reasonable.

Haven't had any issues.

Currently carrying this sucker for a few years now, done everything from gutting fish to cutting warts of steers and cutting boxes open. Bought it off a buddy for 10 bucks

Attached: image.jpg (4032x3024, 2.9M)

wait for a good sale like I did

Their signature machete is fucking shit. It’s not even full tang and snaps quite often plus the saw edge is pointlessly dull

Anons I have a Benchmade Grip. Is this a good knife? I got it because I had a discount and it looked cool/heard Benchmade was a decent brand.

I would buy one now, talks of it being discontinued. Been looking at it for a long time and when I heard that I bought it right away.

Don't want to fill your LC200N needs with this?

Attached: 217gpsf.jpg (1000x1007, 149K)

mercator is better in every way except weight

What's everyone's favorite steel

Gerber is fine for its intended purpose, which to me at least is cheap beater gear to abuse on tasks you wouldn't use a nicer knife for if you didn't have to.

Your book calls a magazine a clip like twice in the same page reeeeeee

>get pocket knife
>never use
>use it literally 2-3 times in a 30 day period
>stop carrying it

i thought it was supposed to be useful :(

Yea, i know that feel. I got a pistol to carry. Never used it, not even a couple times a month. Stopped carrying it.

I did same thing, I carry outside of work but it's so rare that I go anywhere that isn't just on the way home I really only CC like 10% of the time.

Feels like a waste

I have both. Both fill very different needs.

Does Jow Forums recommend the cobratec knives? I was thinking of buying one

Attached: 511402927.jpg (1007x915, 110K)

You fags need to learn what a real knife is. Don't mess with this shit, this is the real deal.

Attached: IMG_20190219_230033.jpg (973x1297, 267K)

Just bought an Opinel No8. What am I in for? First pocket knife.

It's an impractical out dated meme at this point.

Cold steel fag here usually EDC a ti lite 6 (aluminum + xhp) or a Thompson voyager in my right pocket, an Espada L or a Rajah II in my left pocket, a frenzy in my inner vest pocket, a 5” drop forged boot knife as my neck knife, a Kizer sheepdog in my upper vest pocket and a leatherman sidekick in my front vest pocket. If I’m wearing a jacket I’ll have an Espada XL in the inner pocket.

Buy the German one so you don’t get knife envy.

German one?
I see it has textured "flipper", why is this version different?

Wow that's gorgeous! Steel?
I bought pic related.

Attached: img_0364.jpg (670x502, 58K)

steel is VG10

Nice

this
fun for collection/novelty, but would not use for anything else besides maybe cheese knife.

Spyderco Paramilitary 2 is a larger para 3 with a thicker blade maybe (?). But you seem to need more heavy duty gear so maybe a Buck 277 alpha hunter. The 110 also has had some recent updates to make it less antiquated.

How's the Ruike? It seems perfect for me aside from maybe slipperiness.

Is there really a discernable difference between the two? I can kill with a hammer; I can do gardening with a Glock.

>Spyderco endura 4
It looks a little rough right now but it is my work knife so it gets used every day.

Forgot pic

He was playing five finger filet. I'm sure simple concepts are hard for him to comprehend

This thing is bomb proof. I am thinking about getting a microtech ultratech for EDC though

Have you had any problems with the pocket clip being too slick? My auto adamas fell out of my pocket and now I have to reprofile the edge. The thing had the saftey on and somehow it fell out and deployed before landing on concrete. Pic before incident.

Yep, it was a little loose and caught my seat belt when getting out of my truck one time and broke it right in half.

The new one they sent me doesn’t even touch the side of the body.

Moved into a new place and found that the last residents left some random stuff around, found myself a nice knife but other than the blade being sharp and not falling apart I don't know jack about knives. Can y'all connoisseurs tell me whats the general thoughts on a "Smith&Wesson S.W.A.T II"? It's definitely better than whatever cheap shit you see in cornerstores, but i don't know if its a good find or just a "bought for brand" kinda knife. Gonna keep it either way though, been real useful to have a knife at hand at all times.

There is. Some places say you cant carry a knife, unless you can justify it as a tool needed for like work. Only places like that I can think of is the UK.

Gun brand knives are 99% Chinese mystery steel garbage. Only H&K is known for partnering with respectable knife companies.

New York has something similar iirc.

Just use it as a beater.

Dont hold back. I got the VG10 steel carbon fiber handle one. The only downside to it is it's just to fucking classy. I feel like I need to wear a suit. Absolutely adore the knife its amazing, cant go wrong with that titanium handle either. Just buy it
