No, next question

Maybe in a creative writing contest

What this guy said

Just out of curiosity, how would the Rangers lead the way in this fight? Give me legitimate examples of how they could beat the SEALS in anyway other than numbers (which shouldn't be applicable for the sake if this argument)

Are heard if you use two Navy Seals, you can beat a Ranger in a "wrestling" contest.

The Navy SEALs are the greatest warriors this world has ever seen. They could defeat the entire US military.

Both organizations are so dysfunctional neither would win.

I imagine that both would be too busy writing lies in books to fight.

Depends. What's their power level?

>both would be too busy writing lies in books to fight.

lol

Depends on who survives the Chinook crashes.

DESU, it's all down to who is the fastest to get approval for a fire mission from marine artillery.

Yes we would, easily
We are Tier 1 whereas the rangers aren't even on a Tier. They are basically slightly less fat National Guardsmen as far as we are concerned

Depends. Do the rangers get to use crayons and coloring books to distract the puddle pissers?

Damn I had no idea we had SEAL's here.

Fucking sick I knew this place was better than Reddit

WOAH GUYS! A REAL NAVY SEAL!

Holy shit user, give me my sides back

SEALs got wiped by a bunch of goatfuckers with AKs during Op Red Wings so against Rangers would really fuck them up
Unlike Rangers, SEALs don't have a foundation in basic infantry tactics, so they don't react to getting ambushed as well and their training is geared towards them initiating contact

The tripfag is right, SEALS have decades of proven combat history whereas the Rangers have a decade of proven failures

We have SEALs and Rangers here. We just don't have DEVGRUs or Deltas yet.

How many years were you in?
>reddit
FUCK

None of them are Varsity.

Only devgru is tier 1

Fucking arrogant pricks the lot of you

This whole Ranger thing confuses me.

Is the 75th's Special Troops Battalion their only Special Operations group or 1st, 2nd and 3rd are also Special Operations?
If we had to define their top and most skilled unit would it be the STB or they're just reconnaissance?

Hes not a seal, just a LARP. He never posted any proof just talks.

Let's be real, SEALs are too busy writing books to post on Jow Forums.

I like the way you tried to sneak that LARP into your post.
No. Not really.
I lied.

Believe me or don't, your call and ultimately no loss to me. I grace this board with my presence on occasion to liven things up.
Eh yeah but I don't like writing, only posting.
Besides, the real money is in having someone else write your story for you
You sound triggered.
Let me guess, National guardsmen or civie?

Yes Rangers would win.

First Rangers frequently train in platoon, company, and occasionally battalion sized elements. SEALs on the other hand mostly stick to squad level tactics. So when it comes time operate in a larger group they just don’t do as well.

There’s also the fact that’s Ranger’s being army all have a strong infantry background, whereas the SEALs really don’t. You wouldn’t think it’s a big deal but it is, even simple things laid out in the Ranger Handbook are almost new concepts to SEALs.

Also while the SEALs have a lot of cool and different skills- freefall, diving, special boat stuff, cock gobbling- it’s a lot of time spent not working fundamentals like marksmanship, room clearing, patrolling, ect. That’s pretty much all Rangers drill.

Here’s some more random thoughts that you can make what you will of: Rangers are the only SOF organization with mortars organic to them- 60mm at the platoon/company level and 81 and 120mm at the battalion level. Same thing with Gustaves at the company level. Watched SEALs doing training in Korea clear a building with white lights on their guns whereas Rangers just work under NODs.

Well I'm a super duper secret spy I studied under james bond. I only post to liven things up. Fucking faggot.

nobody commenting on the fact that OP posted airsofters / larpers?

This is actually an extremely interesting perspective: I suppose by being more limited in their overall training and mission parameters, Rangers should excel in basic grunt work.
Excellent post.

Oh so you're a liar. Nice contribution to the conversation. Now if you'll excuse me, adults are having a discussion

I'm gonna go Rangers, there are way too many instances of SEALs getting BTFO in direct action scenarios. Not saying they're shit but I do think Rangers specialize more in the scenario that I'm assuming OP is presenting.

Tell you what: when I publish my tell all in 20 years, I'll add a special note to the Nobody on Jow Forums that didn't believe me. What a great use of time this was, now get and stay get.

Getting back to the original conversation, I think it might be beneficial if we defined some parameters for this contest.
Things like environment, equipment, method of insertion, target objective, team size and the like

Charlie Brown

>Is the 75th's Special Troops Battalion their only Special Operations group
I audibly laughter. No RSTB isn’t the only special operations group, it’s actually mostly a support battalion responsible for training, intel, and communications. The only real cool guy stuff going on with them is the Regimental Reconnaissance Company. The 75th as a whole is considered a special operations group, and this also applies to the 3 primary battalions.

Stop giving that retard (you)'s
He just wants attention and will go away if you stop responding.

So you're a incel just living out your fantasy?

I think you are right. I get baited by these underage kids pretty frequently and I like to think I am helping them by correcting them, but it seems like they thrive on any response they get whether it be critical or not.
I gotta get back to working out anyways so I'll check on the thread later.

Good luck with the thread everyone, I hope it is still alive when I am back on station tomorrow.

Be safe!

I think Seals are a more of a "jack of all trades" group whereas the rangers are the "master of one". I think SEALS have better overall general stats in a variety of operations but that Rangers would excel in the very specific environments they train for

Lol. This is ironically true

I was on /b/ and a mercenary was posting pics of himself in Syria. I dont think he understood how posting on Jow Forums works. He seemed very confused. However he was some former special forces guy operating as a merc. I never heard from him again.
I speculate he was cruising /b/ for porn to wack off too. And got board and started posting. Maybe he died? Its possible

Ban everyone ITT who easily for an obvious LARP with no proof.

I Think the real question is, could the Rangers beat the Marime Raiders?

kek

I always forget SF are still SOF haha. That being said, while 18Bs are trained on mortars, they rarely if ever carry mortars organically. Last time we worked alongside a SF team they brought in 10th Mountain to act as their mortars. They may have been directed by some SF guys, but they don’t have enough people to crew mortars themselves. They’re not structured for it.

once you reach a certain level past intermediate combat skill, its really a tossup and the main factors are issues like surprise, position, and whether you are defenidng or invading. they could do 100 wargames against each other and it would probably come out close to 50-50

our special forces in vietnam were fighting literal rice farmers

You best be meming boy

This gave me a good kek.

This is kind of hard to answer but since Rangers are a unit designed for and trained in things like airfield seizure and airborne operations they would probably win
Rangers are probably the US military's best conventional warfare unit and if this is a "battle" then I'd have to say Rangers
However, SEALs have a much harder selection process so I'd say SEALs are individually tougher dudes, they just don't operate in large teams

There were some guys on here making a camo pattern out of aheago. I can’t wait for someone to put on a Zeltbahn. I would pay hundreds of dollars for that.

Fuck you sailors. Rangers lead the way.

That's a weird call sign for a boat boy. All the surfer doods I ever met had call signs like "Skip Foreplay" and "The Stache".

WHAT COLOR IS THE BOATHOUSE AT HEREFORD?

You don't talk like a SEAL at all.

I have NEVER heard a SEAL say on station. Not once.

You are a fraud and a drippy dickhole.

This. Doesnt matter who wins, the stories that come after would be sweet.

You have that absolutely backwards.

This post is so full of fail I'm not sure where to start.

How does a 12 man team, even though they are normally more like 10, not have enough people to crew a mortar? Are you retarded?

What no! Fuck off, it's completely normal to have had at least 15 ND's

Blocks your path.

Do you guys think to be part of a SOF, you have to have a few years experience as a normal infantryman? The point of special operations is to do things unconventionally, but I think you have to know conventional methods first inside out. Also, you will have discipline drilled into you by your drill sergeant, which hear is lacking in special ops. Or am I stupid?

Who is that?

Yes. The Rangers have a clear doctrine the SEALS could prepare for.

"Unconventional warfare" is just a polite way of saying "promote insurgency & terrorism in a country that you don't like, in order to piss off their government and hopefully bring about regime change." So yeah, you do need to know the basics first because how are you going to train guerillas if you've never been through boot camp yourself?

I wear a helmet. It makes it hard to lick the bus windows.

whoever shoots the other first wins

under rated

Holy shit, hunterposting is back on the menu

Because every member on that team has a dedicated job that basically isn’t mortars. Running an actual MFP takes at least 7-8 guys depending on how many moartars you’re running- and that’s not counting security- so that’s pretty much your whole team tied up running a MFP, which is not really what a SF team is suppose to do. That leads me back to my original statement of SF teams not being structured to organically support mortars.

>am I stupid?
Yes, but you’re right in a roundabout way. Almost any current service member can go to a selection holding any jobs/mos, but prior combat arms types tend to do the best. However almost all SOF fields take non-prior service as well and throw them straight into prep or selection/indoc right after basic. Only Army SF and Marine Recon have traditional infantry school as a part of their training pipieline; Rangers do as well, but obviously only for the infantrymen and not all the other MOS’s in the regiment.

Oh hey, look, a YouTube comments section managed to find it's way over to Jow Forums, quite the pontificating lil' LARPers you are

You want to know what conversation anyone actually in SOF has never had?

>We are Tier 1 whereas the rangers aren't even on a Tier

I mean, he's probably not lying to be cool, so much as bullshitting for trollols, because that comment seemed a little too intentionally fucked up to be on accident

What? anyone can shoot anyone.

>neverserved
Now I know you’re retarded. One guy can handfire and run a 60, two dudes, especially the two 18Bs on a team, can run a 81 effectively. 120s will rarely go out obviously but they’re on almost every COP I’ve seen. Keep in mind SF’s primary mission, they have a gaggle of foreign bodies, one ODA can train and embed with a whole company. That’s plenty of hands to run the tubes while team guys handle FDC. Here’s a video of a single SF bubba running multiple rounds through a 60mm and a gustav:

What an SF team is suppose to do is to dress up like the locals and make deals and alliances with warlords to launch a successful guerrilla campaign against the enemy. Not sit in a combat outpost occasionally patrolling to the local villages. Also, 60mm mortars are kinda designed to be brought into combat and only needs two to three guys running it. Even just one if they’re short on men.

imagine wanting a bitch to defend your country as opposed to confident and dependable men

>needing an FDC
>when the guy running the mortars can simply double as his own FDC
Fucking plebs

This.
/Thread

this plus dropping those sweet sweet dox

>driving around in MRAPs
>As SF
Why? It amazes me that people still wonder why IEDs are such an issue and that we can never seem to win over the people. All we seem to fucking do is drive around in those fucking MRAPs, get blown up, chat with villagers for 30 minutes, leave the village, have villagers get slaughtered for talking to you, get blown up again, then finally go back home thinking you made a difference when you were nothing more than a target for the Taliban to shoot at. Unless your escorting a fucking logistical convoy, stay on foot.

>neverserved
Bruh, I’m in that pic.

One guy can handfire a 60, but you typically comit at least two guys to it if only to spot and carry more ammo. Furthermore two guys aren’t going to carry in an 81mm by themselves. You’re talking at least a vehicle in which case we go back to starting to have a gun line, which requires more then two dudes.

> Keep in mind SF’s primary mission, they have a gaggle of foreign bodies, one ODA can train and embed with a whole company. That’s plenty of hands to run the tubes while team guys handle FDC.
Yeah, those guys aren’t organic to an ODA team, they’re augmentees who’re used to help support the SF mission. That’s not the same as it being an organic component like an actual mortar platoon.

As I said before, last time I deployed alongside an ODA team it wasn’t SF on the tubes, it was a bunch of 10th mountain dudes the brought in.

That’s kind of my point, they don’t organically support mortars outside of 60mm. I’m not saying they don’t know how to use them, or can’t be augmented to use them, but unlike Rangers they don’t have a group of guys dedicated to mortars.

Do Navy SEAL's train to conduct reconnaissance of potential spots for marine amphibious assaults? Sort of like a pathfinder for airborne.
