It uses a standard m65 liner and Is a bit oversized. I would think no colder than 30 would be okay. For extended sits you can layer it easy.

I'm leaning towards Meiji era Japan myself. They both had similar uniforms to this, and ended in 1912. Though the hat and cross on the collar are unique. The cross suggests to me he was a member of some sort of Christian missionary organization.

Is this the best surplus deal in history? I've recently noticed that you pretty much have to resow the bottom-inside of the lower, outer pockets because they're only glued, not sowed, but outside of that it's the best $50 I've ever spent. I've had it for like 2 years now and it's held up perfect, outside of the pocket issue, in harsh ND winters.
