Megalith

Steel rain.

>look mom, I made ace combat thread on a non video game forum again!

Hell, I'm just gonna go through every one and give my opinion.

STONEHENGE
+I LOVE railguns.
-Due to Newton's Depth Approximation there's no way in hell a railgun would have that kind of range.
-If you still have enough kinetic energy to create plane killing sonic booms (A guess, I admit) then why can't you bombard ground targets? Why is it never used against ground targets?
-Doesn't this mean that all friendly planes between Stonehenge and the target need to GTFO or die?
Awesome...but not practical

Megalith
+/- ICBMs are a thing in real life
-Less of a boss fight as a series of ground targets.
-Too easy to kill
Very practical, but kinda boring compared with other superweapons.

Excaliber
+Absolutely terrifying range and accuracy.
+Even Looks like a God Damn Sword....kinda
+Would actually be an effective anti-air/anti-ballistic missile weapon
-If you could get it to work
-Between the massive cooling requirements, the height of the tower, energy loss due to atmosphere, and the shear PERFECTION from the lenses and mirrors required to not blow up I don't think you could get it working.
-very rough estimates say you can power a small country with the energy required to run that thing.
Awesome and somewhat practical but very expensive to build.

V2
+/- ...it's just a MIRV ICBM.
Kinda lame.

>Aigaion and aerial fleet
Lmao good luck getting that thing off the ground let alone landing it or swapping out the crew. Fueling it more than a couple hours would absolutely annihilate your nation’s oil reserves. Not to mention the airframe-mounted cruise missiles that would be unstable as fuck to launch in flight.

Every time I see something like this I wonder what the endgame is. That thing is eventually going to mechanically fail (aircraft do all the damn time) or run out of fuel. When it does, shit’s going down

Not what you were asking but Brimstone is an ace combat special weapon.

>hunter killer missiles that can be fired 12 at a time.

Attached: Brimstone.webm (1280x720, 735K)

You posted it.
Just scale down the size a bit.

Attached: droneswarm.gif (780x602, 3.52M)

It's meant to land in water, look at its hull.

if a plane is so large it literally has other planes land and takeoff in it why the hell are you making it land for fuel or parts when you could have other planes deliver it straight to it. its likely made with redundancies so repairs can take place while its running
>Every time I see something like this I wonder what the endgame is
its just a aircraft carrier that can go over land and sea. its that simple

That láser shit where you can't fly too high.

This one.

Scarface 1

If your super weapon is silly then you haven't build it large enough to be practical.

Attached: 65578657576.jpg (950x672, 418K)

Ace combat is a source of untold joy it is unquestionable here. It's pure goodness brought some of us into the militaria fascination death spiral.
You're a suffering, miserable creature for not enjoying it.

True. It should transcend "silly" and "ridiculous" and only be perceivable as defying reality and gross intimidation.

>t. DCS guy that's in every thread autistically raging because real people still have functioning synapses.

See

>t "What do you mean ARMA doesn't qualify me for Delta Force? I AM highest ranked in the server!"

>Stonehenge
The projectiles arc user, they leave the atmosphere, conserving energy due to vacuum and renter to do their sonic boom thing.

V2 is by far the most practical and deadly.
>Strangereal takes a look at our world
>haha they've got no superweapons!!!
>we show them our nuclear stockpiles
>O.O
>Strangereal destroys the portal

BURN OSEA TO THE GROUND

Strangereal is far more nukehappy than our own world though
>Belka drops 7 nukes on their own country to stop the allies
>Anarchists steal a MIRV warhead and nearly launch it
>Erusea tries to drop nukes on Osean troop garrisons
>The (((Grey Men))) try to get Osea and Yuktobania to nuke each other

Not really, the Cold War was absolutely batshit crazy about nukes, Belka is absolutely retarded and really should have been militarily occupied and it's industry and military virtually dismantled.

>and really should have been militarily occupied and it's industry and military virtually dismantled.
Isn't that what happens? You know, with the whole southern half of the country being handed over to Osea, Belka Munitions Factory being turned into North Osea Grunder Industries, and so on

>arma
Also >>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Sage goes in every field

Stonehenge is undeniably the most effective and practical super weapon.

Attached: 1543432363286.png (1500x600, 2.05M)

>thinking Belka got punished
No, I'm talking about a Japan teir occupation, with it being unable to even declare war, or even possessing any weapon above infantry grade.

>t. Erusean shill

based

By practical I'm going to go with realistic. The "super" weapons in 2. Since the sub is basically just a missile sub and Fortress Intolerance is a more basic Megalith that isn't too fantastical.

I love ace combat, but replaying all the games and playing 7, I didn't recall the stories being as stupid as they were. 5 onward in particular.

Can you imagine the arkbird showing up in a conflict zone

Attached: 3B189C02-70CD-49C6-AC15-283862815E28.jpg (510x288, 44K)

I mean, some of the themes and ideas are interesting, and the background lore is really cool, but in the end its still a time attack game where you have a bunch of missiles and a score limit to reach. Its still at its core an arcade cabinet game on steroids.

If anything, 7 has some of the more "naturalistic" dialogue in the series. It doesn't have an enemy ace literally talk about HAUNTING YOU FOREVER WOOOOOO like in 5.

Attached: 025.jpg (2550x3507, 2.93M)

This thread is now about Jane's IAF, the IAF is the greatest air force the world has ever seen.

Fuck muslims, also fuck arcade games for children.

I really want to buy AC7 but I haven't played an AC game since 6 and I've heard it doesn't have enough replayability to be worth the price. Maybe I'll pick up a copy used or on sale.

youtu.be/pey9VLrgAIs

Attached: F121119EI56.jpg (757x425, 60K)

Its basically like the PS2 games, minus some of the branching campaign shit from 5 and Zero
Replaying it multiple times gets you more camo schemes.

Yeah that's what I figured. Unfortunately the main difference between it and the PS2 games is that now I'm responsible for buying my own games rather than having my parents buy them for me and I can't really justify spending $60 on it compared to the other games I play. I guess I'll wait for a cheaper price.

They land in water.

The Gleipnir in ACX spawns over the large river in the middle of the map in the missions(s) that it is shot down after the dialogue leading to it taking off.

cute
wait for the GOTY Ace of Aces edition they'll probably release later with all the DLC stuff in

its a great game, but it definitely isn't a long haul kind of game.

Pilots, Aviation enthusiasts and flight simmers love videos of aircraft starting up.

Ace combat fags absolutely HATE them. Why is that? Genuinely asking.

youtu.be/u3DXEsC4Pq8

Attached: camel.jpg (941x711, 93K)

The problem isn't the nation Belka as it is now.

Ace Combat thing is more like the US hiring german scientists after WW2 to make the Saturn rockets to get to the moon, but the german scientists designed the rocket to fly towards Moscow instead and the rocket fuel blows up there, pissing Russia off and they declare war on the US. Its just some sore losers cunts pulling strings behind the scenes for their revenge.

A retard trying to sound smart. Typical

Seriously? what the fuck? What is wrong with you?

Why do ace combat players hate real life flying so much? No memes, I really want to know. I've never seen another fanbase hate the real world so much

what the fuck are you talking about

I've been a fan of Ace Combat since Air Combat on the PS1 so I'm not sure what you're on about, I love planes.

??? Over 70% of the downvotes to a real life video were from ace combat players. Pretty self explanatory.

This series is just Metal Gear in the sky. In regards to it's tone, I mean.

>I love planes.

Now would you say you love planes, or would you say you love 'anime planes'?

Attached: katz.jpg (480x360, 14K)

How the fuck did you make that conclusion?

He didn't take his pills. Why are you giving him attention when that's what he is obviously here for?

Nonono Metal Gear is Ace Combat on the ground

>STONEHENGE
>Why is it never used against ground targets?
Isn't it because every single Stonehenge emplacement can only (putting it incredibly simply here) shoot upwards or at an upwards angle? Can't aim at ground targets whatsoever by nature of its design.
Damn thing was meant to shoot an asteroid and its falling chunks.

>It doesn't have an enemy ace literally talk about HAUNTING YOU FOREVER WOOOOOO like in 5.
To be fair, he was a salty Belkan crying bitch tears at losing again.
Nothing like the ace "rival" of 7.

the one that uses a shaped charge to create a cannon barrel out of explosive force and then shoots a projectile through it

>it's like a howitzer on the plane without the weight!

>schizoposter has to make things up to justify and validate his elitism
Cringe and nuggetpilled.
Stonehenge or V2.
A Sea Goblin fps would be pretty cool. Like an AC version of Republic Commando.

Okay
You
and you work it out.

Too massive, not enough cooling, engines are the wrong type for that, no way to practically shield it, can't flood the reactor with seawater in the case of an emergency.

SCINFAXI\HRIMFAXI w\ AIRBURST MISSILE
+\-Basically a ballistic missile sub
+Actually hella deadly
-I don't think those missiles are physically possible
-Why is pointing your plane upwards and pushing the throttle hard?
+It's got FIGHTERS?!
-wait, how do those fighters land?
Kinda awesome and mostly practical

HEAVY COMMAND CRUISER (Aigaion, Hresvelgr, etc.)
+EPIC
+Can carry long range AA missiles
-How the fuck do you fuel that thing?
-Strangely limited offensive capacity
Awesome, but so not practical.

ARSENAL BIRD
+So very Graceful
+Flying wing design+Winglets+contrarotating propellers=super fuel efficient
+Powered wirelessly via space elevator so propellers can be 100% electric
+Surprisingly tough
+Drones are actually fairly deadly
+Has an anti-ship laser
+Some sort of point defense forcefield
-entirely RC or AI which led to it being hacked
-Vulnerable to railgun fire
-kinda slow
Awesome and surprisingly practical.

Infantry aren't valid targets though.

>V2
Literally a ballistic missile with MIRVs, so here's that. It's also the most boring by far.
>Heavy command cruisers (XB-0, the Sky Fortress, Aigaion and its fleet)
Ultimately impractical, need either immense runways or must be seaplanes, and either require nuclear power or absolutely enormous amounts of fuel. Still, cool as fuck.
>Excalibur
Power requirements would make it impossible and the satellite mirror array would be horrifically costly to set up, but it would be able to hold the entire world by its balls because it could strike everywhere. Also one of the most enjoyable superweapon fights.
>Stonehenge
We could make this with current tech, even if it would cost perhaps trillions.
>Dragonet/Scinfaxi class
Perhaps the second most practical, if we take Hrimfaxi's drones into account instead of Scinfaxi's manned aircraft. Just an upscaled SSN (and Dragonet's SLBMs were in fact nuclear IIRC).
>Arsenal Bird
Third most practical, and absolutely gorgeous. Drone swarms are the future.

I remember seeing these guys on AMC when I was deployed. Imagine being attacked by a swarm of them. There's so many of them that there are effectively zero countermeasures.

Actually, incendiaries would work rather well. So would air burst weapons or even shotguns.

With all that surface area you can't practically armor all the drones. Just keep them from massing and pick off the rest with rifles.

>Excalibur

I still can't figure out how we got within striking range of Excalibur

Dumb fucking luck, buddy

Oh no! someone posted an anime game based around weapons on the weapons board of an anime website!!! This is unnacceptable!! MOOOODDDDSSS. Your such a fucking faggot, This thread about ace combat isnt going anywhere and theres nothing you can do about it.

Everyone post planefus

Attached: Typhoon and Mirage 2000 AC7.png (1920x1080, 3.27M)

>they swarm poppies

Jesus, armistice day is gonna be a massacre!

Metal Gear is an anime about why being a soldier fucking sucks.
Ace Combat is an anime about why being a fighter pilot is fucking awesome.

Probably the Arkbird. X 33 with a ramjet and one of those chem lasers.

If you really wanted to stretch it, you could pull of a SOLG too.

The yuke subs are also feasible but illogical compared to the other weapons you could come up with.

MIRV missles already exist technically sooo.

>can't flood the reactor with seawater in the case of an emergency

Its a belkan designed weapon, they would just jettison the reactor as per Belkan scorched earth policy.

She's not in the game...yet.

>dual railguns

I can hear the screeching of QAAM-fags already.

Attached: CFA-44.jpg (1280x720, 150K)

It would fucking suck to be part of anything Army related in strangereal.
