I would say it's whatever pioneering outposts are left in our country (minus Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and the far West Coast). That would pretty much leave stuff like Montana, possibly the Dakotas, and Wyoming. I would also argue for the Oklahoma Panhandle, Michigan's upper peninsula, maybe the Northwest Angle in Minnesota and a few major islands in the Great Lakes too.
