50 bmg out of short barrels?

anyone know the ballistic data for .50 bmg sbrs? would it be effective

your ears would bleed man

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

add a foregrip

Needs a surefire and a warden, too

you can easily model this in quickload if you care about exact details.

Basically, it sucks ass. Large calibers like 50 BMG are designed to be fired from very long barrels and they have extremely slow-burning gunpowder. Fired out of a pistol (yes, those exist) or an SBR you get a huge muzzle flash and pathetic velocity because the overwhelming majority of the powder burns outside the muzzle, if it burns at all.

Just shoot handloads, brah

>short-recoil fiddy cal
>wide muzzle break w/ insufficient space
no

Doesn't the gun in OP's pic have a reciprocating barrel? Meaning it would break?

Lol at cringey expert bros ITT. This shit would be fun as hell.

Sounds useless but very very fun
Big time, big boom & flash is the point 90% of the time for me

wasting the ballistic potential of the .50 BMG: the gun

OP didn't ask if it would be fun. OP asked if it would be effective. The only thing it would be effective for would be muzzle blast.

Wait, so how well would this cook food if you just attached say a chicken thigh near the muzzle?

Depends on how much ammo you have and how fast you manage to load and fire it.

Any more dumbass questions with obvious answers, tard?

ok but say you were shooting it of a 16" barrel? not quite the optimal length obviously but better than a pistol length barrel, and more practical then your usual 20+ inches...

Seeing as how the barrel recoils into the receiver I dont think that would work

What part of "model it in quickload" do you not understand?

I am not trying to be an ass, I just think that's by far the easiest way to answer all your questions. You can play with different loads, different barrel lengths, etc, and see what happens.

>ok but say you were shooting it of a 16" barrel?

It would be like a 8" AR. Stupid but not entirely useless. I don't think it makes sense to go below 20" in anything that is above .308

Great resource broski,

way to be a fren

Needs more sig brace
