Ok Jow Forums my dad just bought this old 870 at a pawn shop yesterday. I advised him not to buy a rustington but he just went along anyway and did it.
How did he do?

Not all remingtons are rustingtons.
Take the serial number and throw it into google or call Remington. Basically if its before 2006 I believe its a good remington and will never succumb to rust like modern ones do.
its a wingmaster with exposed metal thats not rusting right now. pretty safe to say its not post 2007 remshit.
kill yourself stupid zoomer
How much?
Wingmasters are blued, the pump will slowly rub that off. Regardless, look up the serial number because if its before the certain year they went bankrupt and got bought by cerberus/freedom group then its a great shotgun.
About 200 dollarydoos.
can you post the barrel too?
You need the first two letters on the barrel.
>old 870
That's why it's a decent gun.
frig off newfig
These?
Yup those are it
Your shotgun was made in 1966
was it hit by friendly fire in the pheasant fields?
So.............he got a good deal?
or 1993
assuming everything works, then yea he got a really good deal. 200 dollars for a 1966 or 1993 shotgun is great.
>I advised him not to buy a rustington
Here's how I can tell your dad is the only one who owns guns in the family.
>Rustington
Only applies to new guns made since FG took over, and even then only to guns with what they called the "bead blast blued" finish.
Parked 870's are still fine, and old pre-FG ones are still fine.
good thing he didn't listen to you, dumbass
its an ok deal
given its condition with its gouges around 250 would be expected. 200 would be decent. sub 200 would be a good deal. what you got is a guy buying something of a dollar menu for 90 cents. yeah its a deal but not a once in a lifetime one.
The barrel was made in 1966...
