I'd go with the hammershot. VERY good single action trigger, no barrel (see below), good out-of-the-box spring (and thus pneumatic) strength, and the sights are actually useable.
What you want to be looking for is
>pneumatic gun (because flywheel guns tend to have ultra shitty trigger break, if at all)
>short or no barrel
>if revolver: the cylinder is turned by cocking the action, and not when you pull the trigger (like the Strongarm)
unironically because they have less barrel. The darts get accelerated once, and after that, every contact with a barrel just slows them down, which means they'll fly less straight and tumble more.

My kids have a shit ton of nerf guns. The most accurate by far is indeed a pistol, one of those $4 n-strike elite single shots like pic related. They're deadly with that thing. The bigger motorized or pump ones are nowhere near as accurate. The one that looks like an AK is pretty fun though with the pew pew pew, I always grab that one when we have wars.
