Talk to me about the FNC Jow Forums. Is it worth the price it commands in the US (around $4000). I am seriously debating one to add to my pre-89 ban collection.

How much better than a nice AR15 could it possibly be to justify that price tag?
Rule of cool my man. But at $4000 there is a lot of other cool shit I could buy.
>HK93
>Steyr AUG
>B&T TP9
>Scar 17s
>polytech Legend
>Robinson M96
>Valmet
Tons of cool shit that is way cooler than a basic (or gucci) tier AR.
Is your goal the best functional rifle or a unique historical piece?
That huge price tag is entirely in rarity and has nothing to do with the quality of belgian waffle magic, however I'm sure they are fine rifles that work as intended.
If you want it solely for collectibility then it's worth as much as you can afford and are willing to pay. Do you have any other 308 battle rifles? If not I would personally go with the FAL.
The entire reason that FNCs are as expensive as they are is due to registered auto-sears. There are more registered NFA sears for them than rifles in country, so the auto sears are the cheapest on the market.
If you want to go that route, you can have a legal full-auto assault rifle (and a damned good one) for about 10k or so.
It is possible to get an AC556 cheaper, but it doesn't use AR magazines and if the barrel wears out it is a bitch to replace now that Ruger no longer services them.
I have a PTR91, 2 DSA FALs, IMI .308 ARM. I am torn between buying a real HK91 or a real FN FAL. But at the same time the FNC is completely new and buying the "real deal" of the other two is somewhat redundant this point in my collection.
This use to be the case, but the auto-sears seem to be going to 10-12k currently which on top of the rifle puts you around $15,000.
Really? That's the big gay. It seems like only a few months ago it was this little known secret where you could score a rock and roll FNC for like 8k, but now everyone knows about it.
Yea its really gay, I also dont get it because there is more sears than guns so what the fuck is driving the price?
link is an active FNC sear.
do it for her, Jow Forumsommando
I hate the way a FAL para looks
I love it
I hate AR fags so much.
If you want to stage the purchase of one of the coolest full giggle switch assault rifles you can get its probably a great choice. If you've got the cash and its a good example then go for it.
not being an ar15
My problem with the FNC is its barely been used in any conflict. Its not truly battle tested like a FAL.
get an SG 550 if you want a gucci retro AK derivative
already have one. Well a SG553RP. but its actually in 762x39 and takes AK mags.
>Belgium
>Sweden
>Indonesia
A bunch of countries use them.
Not helping the argument user.
Don't keep paying these fucking boomers unreasonable amounts of money for their trash "collectibles." It's an average gun, it should command an average price. Just buy something that costs what its worth, make your market desires known, and wait for the market to respond by releasing a reproduction. DSA has been looking into them for a while now.
I had four of them back in the late 80's, back when they were mostly an oddity and well before memeitude. I liked it at the time (obv) and it was quite good compared with the Colt offerings but it's pretty seriously obsolete nowadays. I sold them all by the late 90's and really don't miss them, there's nothing the FNC will do that a SCAR-16, ACR, or Robinson XCR won't do better and with much more modularity and flexibility.
How about an EBR?
Most people buy the semis as parts donors for the full autos, because there are so few spare parts and they are relatively common as full auto.
It's inherently more expensive to make.
It's a good gun if plan on traveling with an arms dealer.
>tfw poor as fuck
>FNC is my dream gun
Buy it and post lots of threads about it so I can live vicariously through you
Seething poorfag
those are gay
Can only speak for Sweden but what is
>Bosnia
>Kosovo
>Somalia
>Iraq
>Tchad
>Afghanistan
>Mali
>Liberia
Granted, I use the AK5C but I like it. Never have FTE irregardless of desert, mud or arctic snow. Rifle is tested in combat and it works fine. Now fuck off, you stupid mong.
“Tested in combat” In so much as soldiers carried it. It was never put through the shit like an M4 or FAL. It’d probably shit the bed just like the G36 if it were.
I thought it was a situation like with the m60's, how one person bought up 95% of them and resells them at an inflated cost every so often to fund retirement.
I remember someone here stated Alex from tfb bought up a majority of fnc rifles and auto sears in conjunction with the tfb entry-level automatic article in order to make money.
actually now that you mention it, I think you are right.
Alex always was a cunt with a shitload of daddy money behind him. This would be the least surprising thing ever.
>M60s
You mean stoner 63s
>I remember someone here stated Alex from tfb bought up a majority of fnc rifles and auto sears in conjunction with the tfb entry-level automatic article in order to make money.
No lol. His dad would be the one buying that shit up and he is too boomer to pull such a scheme
I know we get a few Swede Jow Forumsomandos posting here but do we have Belgians or Indonesians lurking that carried a FNC? I'm curious to hear their opinions on the FNC. Or how well it did with Belgians using it in Afghanistan or Indonesians in SEA jungles.
for all of the mystique surrounding the FNC it has been used VERY little in combat. I believe most of the hype is due to it being hard to get in the states.
>pic is indonesian made FNC
>A variant created for police use. It's the only rifle in the SS-1 series chambered in 7.62×45mm (a necked-up version of the 5.56×45mm cartridge, utilizing a round-nose bullet similar to the .30 Carbine) created by PT Pindad for law enforcement conditions.[20][21]
That is pretty interesting about the Pindad. Wonder why they chose that caliber.
You’re talking out of your ass. I am active duty and I know a bit more about it than you do. It has indeed been used in combat and it has functioned well. It has however not seen as much action as ”an M4 or FAL” given it was adopted by the Swedish Armed Forces in the early 90’s. What evidence do you have to support your claim that ”it would shit the bed like the G36”?
Isnt that what the VZ52 used? What advantages would it offer over 762x39 I wonder?
Our police also use a semi-automatic variant.
Again, the rifle is fine. Can’t say anything about spending 4k usd on it except that I wouldn’t.
Even though I don't understand what you mean by the G36 "shitting the bed" as it never shat and kept going on with no problems, the only issue being the accuracy when it's used like an LMG on long periods, if you were talking about the accuracy problem, the FNC wouldn't suffer like the G36 since it's a steel trunnion inside a stamped sheet metal upper receiver.
Belgian, Indonesia, or Sweden (yes!) replacing their FNCs and selling us FNC parts kits when?
Had a FNC in late 80s, it was just ok, save your money
please bump for more info
The 7.62x45 the Czechs used was larger, same case length. You got 130gr at 2600fps. Fairly similar to 6.5 grendel energy.
But surely this would mean the Indonesians had to make proprietary mags and bolt heads for this?
If the G36's temperature is 30 degrees Celsius or warmer, the polymer parts holding the barrel in place melt and utterly fuck up your accuracy.
Fun fact:
>Bundeswehr tried to sue HK over this
>They fucking lost in court
>The likely winner of the contract for Germany's next service rifle is also made by HK
So are you shitting on the G36 or praising it? It seems like youre doing both.
I'm shitting on it. I'm confused why the fuck they even allowed HK to enter into the competition for the replacement.
Because it wasnt proven that it was due to any faults in the G36, also HK didnt lose in court, the bundeswehr did.
No. Their round is like .300 blackout. It's just a necked up 5.56. Just gives you fuck all ogive space. I'm guess its supersonic 110grs only.
ah, so basically somebody fucked up in their translation/explination? I was amazed at them resurrecting this odd-ball commie round from 70 years ago and putting it into a modern rifle.
