Hey guys I hate to make another boring thread on poly striker handguns but I'm curious why y'all keep recommending them to people over things like the FN 509, Steyr m9, etc ad infinitum.
Why Glocks?
Other urls found in this thread:
Ton of third party parts and accessories.
Yeah I own a pcc that takes Glockazines and I still am having a hard time justifying glock purchases when much sexier and more ergo friendly options exist.
Also; will the SIG p320 get a flood of aftermarket after the military more widely adopts it and it starts showing up in media?
Ubiquity and modularity, same as the AR15.
Yes, not any time soon for the next few years. Even then not worth it.
But it looks so cool and I loved the one I rented.
Marketing. Blacks took to Glocks and started rapping about them so every wannabe gangster started buying Glocks. They are like the Honda Civic of guns. They work just fine but the stock parts all suck a little bit so everyone changes parts out for aftermarket. Some see the aftermarket size as a bonus instead of evidence of a problem, that stock Glocks aren't very good. The benefit to carrying a Glock is you won't care as much if the cops take it because it isn't a special gun.
>Why Glocks?
Perfection
Does everything it should and nothing it shouldn't. Huge aftermarket. Uniformity of characteristics. Good stats. Low price.
When it comes to pistols, I trust my life with Glock.
Because people are unable to think for themselves, read reviews, and try out different guns so they just order a glock because "if it works for everyone else it must be good"
Buy a five-seven, you get an ap cartridge which is more compact than anything else, great capacity, double stack magazine, actual ergonomics rather than block, light weight, decent sights, and a trigger which isnt shit out of the box.
> two austrian sheks Este deposited to your account
>Tells other people they can't think for themselves.
>Goes on to recommend Future Pistola from Discovery Channel.
Felt a five-seven in the store once. Felt like a plastic toy. Also needs meme rounds.
To be perfectly clear, any polymer bullet dispenser will perform just fine. Just pick one that doesn't have a bad name for failures and has a good fit to your hand.
What Glocks have going for them are a large aftermarket and commonality.
People bash them for being the same gun for so long, but that also means they've had decades to refine their design. This is why you see other handguns having issues that Glock worked out years ago.
>muh police
Look at his bore axis.
Good luck trying to feed that meme gun.
For me, personally, I just got a glock because it was on sale. That's pretty much it. Could just as easily have gotten an FNX-9 or an FN-509.
>yall
Because they work and are arguably the most practical pistol on the market, but for some reason people seethe over them because they're popular
Its not that bad of a gun but $1200 worth?
why do people like glocks? They're ugly as sin aka your carrying a brick with a handle. They are very bare bones while not even being the cheapest. Usually have shit triggers.
You have never shot a gun in your life
I would much rather buy a CZ
>Hey guys I hate to make another boring thread on poly striker handguns but I'm going to make another boring thread on poly striker handguns.
>Striker-fired polymer handguns from reputable manufacturers
youtu.be
FN509 is the best
It's worth.
Because Jow Forums is full of noguns, oneguns, and brandfags. Anybody who responds with a specific model to a question as vague as "what get for first gun" is just outting themselves as uninformed and inexperienced. The right answer is to give them a list of reputable brands/models to check out, have them fondle/rent whatever they can, then do research on their top 2-3 picks, and then buy the best overall fit for them.
/k. Is full of poorfags
Glocks are cheap
Poor fags have to justify their cheapness by exalting their shit guns as superior weapons.
Also politicians buy guns for police departments.
Usually bids are accepted and the company with the low bid wins.
The reason why so many cops have glocks, is because they are the low bidder.
Not in terms of either build quality or performance.
The five seven is exceptionally well built.
they are cheap and work. but for most people they are harder to shoot. if you are new i wouldnt recommend a polymer frame gun you will limpwrist like crazy
>buy a gun that costs 3 times as much as a glock and is half as good
Nigger. Every poly striker gun from every manufacturer is reliable. They is all the same.
My niggers. I understand WHY Glocks dominate the market. I'm just asking WHY other options aren't recomended to new shooters.
I used to think this was a big deal. And it might be for competition shooters who are all a fraction of a millisecond within one another. But in actual combat/defensive use, it really doesn't matter. I bought an HK with a higher bore axis than my Glock, but I shot it better than my glock. Explain that?
Agreed. So start telling people to buy more of them bc I want one and I want to be able to get off and extending mags for like 15$.
Don't even reply to bore axis people. It's a grasp at straws dead meme.
How dense can you be?
>i understand why they dominate the market
>but those reasons that make them dominant do not count as to why you guys recommend them
Don't be such a brainlet. The other day, my little bro asked me what Polymer handgun he should buy, and though I personally carry a USP, I told him to get a glock. Much easier begginer gun, cheaper, and extremely reliable, and like most idiots do with their first guns, they're gonna play barbie with it. And glock has a huge aftermarket.
Glock has a 30-year lead in the "striker poly pistol" market. That's literally it. The rest are referred to as "Glock clones" regularly, because Glock did it first.
They're all essentially the same gun but name recognition and a few decades of good reputation are literally all you need in a community as reliant on Fuddlore as the gun community is.
People STILL buy Remington guns, remember, and they shit the bed over a decade ago.
It's just frustrating wanting a Sig or CZ or S&W or FN which are all as good (if not better) but knowing you're handicapping yourself bc of "muh aftermarket". Fuck poorfags and larpers desu.
You're right user. I wanted a gun easy to conceal, but I will now forego letting others think for me. And instead I'll listen to you. And buy a big ass gun that isn't easy to conceal, because according to you. That's how to think for myself.
Its a great gun user, but it's not a carry gun. I know Sam Fisher makes it look easy, but he's a video game character.
>He fell for the bore axis meme.
Truly a fantastic specimen of low IQ niggatry
they are. ruger is probably the best bang for the buck
It looks like any other plastic pistol you nigger.
When you buy a good gun you don't need aftermarket parts.
>They is all the same.
lol no
For the money the shield is everything the Glock is but better
They are cheap. They are modular. They are light. They are reliable. They are easy to operate. They come in most calibers, sizes and capacities. They are easy to modify. They have a huge aftermarket parts market. You can build one without ever purchasing a single piece from glock. They make fudds scared because they have no thumb safety. They make leftists scared because of Die Hard 2.
Why wouldn't you get muh problem solver?
Because they work well and parts, mags, and accessories are easy to find. I hated Glocks until I owned one. Same with 1911s.
I shot a taurus pt2, sig 228 and it feels blocky and tall and wierd. Massive muzzle flip. I shoot a glock and it feels more nested into my hand and pointable. Im looking for a mp2.0 to borrow next and try out. It may be a meme but i deff look to it as a comfortably index.
