I really like a Hi-Power without a mag disconnect but I'll never admit it because it's become such a reddit gun recently that I can't dissociate and it's pissing me off FUCK
It's nice, but it falls to the wayside since the upgrade package is the CZ75-series. The FEG clones are alright for cheap tho.
Too expensive to stay a Reddit gun, and not enough faggy aftermarket shit for it to keep the cebollas happy
Fedora gun
I do like the Hi-Power. I have two FN's and an Inglis now.
Anything directly made by John Moses Browning is a gift
Too expensive? You can still find NIB ones for $1000-$1200 ... And kike surplus ones for $600.
it was good enough for claire redfield
Fuck you guys don't concede such a nice pistol to reddit. I want one. It's on the list and I guess prices will only be going up.

The Hi-Power is easily the best Wonder Nine there every was. I love my BHP, It fits great in the hand, shoots well and looks really good. If someone made a BHP clone with a polymer frame with a rail and a RMR compatible slide, it would blow Glock out of the water in terms of overall performance and feel. Probably not price point tho lmfao
If you took the sight/mount and gaudy colors off that one it'd look pretty nice.
Wtf happened with the Inglis? They were everywhere for like sub-500 and suddenly everyone wants to act like they are made of gold with the prices now.
Yep. Last year before they were discontinued, they were sub $800. The prices have gone apeshit. I just got a new one for $1K but it took a lot of looking and a few phone calls to make it happen.
Does anyone have experience with the 15rd magazines vs the 13? Any reliability issues?
Also WTB some Spegel grips.
I use MecGar 15 rounders with no issues. My BHP actually had better reliability once I removed the mag disconnect
The Turks are currently importing hi power clones so you could always buy one of those
It would probably be similar to a Glock in price point, because polymer frames shave a bunch of money off the total cost of the gun. The reason modern polymer frame guns cost less is because the frame costs like $10 to make, and they reduce the overall amount of skilled and semi-skilled labor needed to make one.
It's a beautiful gun.
So you think the "follower tilt" thing is overstated nothingburger? I'm inclined to agree but wanted some first hand experience.
The turkish clones are pretty meh, maybe it's that damn hammer or something, but they don't quite "do" it for me.

>does Jow Forums like the hi power?
Ye.
>kind of want to remove the mag disconnect from my hi power
>autism tells me I shouldn't fuck with it because they're not made anymore and it's an FN

Can be had for cheap too, I love me a high power.
Beat to shit but yeah, internals are fine and they're affordable. Outside of these, they're expensive. I'd get one while the getting's cheap.
bait
Nice for what they are.
>he lets memes hold him back
You are weak.
It's fucking easy to do, and probably doesn't change its collectible value at all. Removing it was a common thing for people to just do, a collector can get fucked if he can't deal with that.
Why on Earth did Browning discontinue the Hi-Power?
>be living abroad when the announcement went out
>prices are now so stupid that it's hard to justify a purchase
Because it's old, the tooling is old, and it isn't profitable?
What about in terms of safety?
Heard some models go full auto due to one defective part.
I would love it if the damn thing isn't cost 3500USD in my country
To not like the hi-power, but like the 1911 is to spit in Browning's face. The man never went backwards on any of his designs, only forward and even he realized that 9mm Luger was superior to .45 boomer.
He devised the .45ACP because the US Army was really fond of the performance of the .45 Colt revolver cartridge, and wanted something similar, it's not only rimless for an automatic action, but actually performs better, and obviously smokeless is cleaner.
Would a 9mm or .38 caliber cartridge had been more practical overall? Probably, but they asked, and he delivered, because he was a professional, and it's not like it doesn't work as a pistol cartridge.
Browning himself said he liked the 9mm luger more, and that was why he enjoyed his hi-power more than the 1911. Like you said though Browning was a professional, which is why he made the hi-point after the war, as it was what he wanted vs. what he was contracted to build.
There was a poor understanding of terminal handgun ballistics back in the day but they did have experience and knew what worked(if not how it worked). There's no arguing that a .45 FMJ at an appropriate velocity will poke holes deep enough into someone to fuck their shit up.
I've got an old Inglis magazine that will take 15 on a warm day. No problems whatsoever. In my experience with 13+ round mags stay with OEM or a proven aftermarket. (The name escapes me now, but it's a common brand)
I like them, and would love one to LARP as Dan Coulson/Jack Ryan/80s SAS, but they're a bit overpriced down here in emuland so I'll stick to my Sigs for the time being and keep buying milsurp rifles
Can always reinstall it
BHP a shit. I said it.
CZ75 is much nicer to shoot.
Browning was not alive when the HiPower existed.
One case of Onions has been deposited at your front door.

Shhhuuuuuunnnnnnnn......
Fun shooter, but my old GP35 has something like a 12 lb trigger, even with the mag safety removed
That trigger mechanism isn't the old man's best design.
The Hi-Power was initially looked at as a .45ACP pistol, before they turned to 9mm Luger, and Browning passed away years before it was finished, leaving Diudo-, Diod-... That Belgian dude who would later design the FAL, to finish the Hi-Power, using his magazine design.
I like the CZ75, but the manual safety gets in the way of my right thumb reaching the slidestop.
>CZ75
use your left thumb as you return to a shooting grip?
That's what I do now, and that works.
Similarly, my right thumb doesn't reach the mag release on my 92A1, so I use my right middle finger for that.
Besides that, they're lovely pistols, I figure I'll maybe get some replacement parts to make them more suitable for me, some day. I just really feel I should be using my right hand to manipulate controls, without having to shift my grip, as I've done this perfectly fine on an M&P 9.
So a Jericho or a derivative of it like the Spaghetty or Gypsy one?
Spaghetti?
tangoalfredo?
Oh right, forgot about them.
But what else is there to replace it?
seconding the MecGar 15. No problems
CZ75 was based on the BHP and basically improved the design. They tried to compete with the BDA, but that was a market flop when compared to the Jamomati- I mean, S&W 59 1st gen.
FEG still makes their copies, I believe, as well as other countries making after market parts. The BHP isn't dead by any means, it's just slowly fading on.
Yes.
I really want one in .40 for shits n gigs but they're so damn expensive.
Air is a reddit basedboy meme, didn't you hear?
The last time I checked, they were like $480. tf happened?
>FEG still makes their copies,
FEG literally hasn't made guns since like 2004
I like it for nostalgia and milsurp reasons, but after getting a CZ-75 I have to say it's obsolete, heavy as fuck and the trigger is absolute garbage
pretty gun nonetheless
>after getting a CZ-75 I have to say it's obsolete, heavy as fuck and the trigger is absolute garbage
>pretty gun nonetheless
Can confirm; CZ75 is heavy as fuck, obsolete, and has a garbage trigger.
>talking shit about the CZ-75 trigger
get fucked baitboi
