Probably not, either way I wouldn't test it. Even with modern ballistic helmets it's not like you're guaranteed to survive a direct hit from a full-powered rifle cartridge, but it doesn't hurt your chances. The primary purpose of helmets has always been to mitigate damage due to shrapnel and blows to the head from blunt objects/getting thrown around and whatnot

Sometimes the round can loop/deflect inside the helmet after impact. One if the purposes of the kevlar, although it doesn't happen often it does happen

Yes. It's not likely but the angle of the helmet can cause the round to basically get rerouted once it hits the helmet and goes thru. We had a guy get shot in the back of his ACH, the bullet traced around the inside of the kevlar to the front and fell out. Granted the impact knocked his NVG mount into his for head and knocked him out, he survived

first active duty unit to go there in 13~ yrs (national guard pog deployment previously), during the height of the rioting in cairo. we all expected hammas attacks, riot control etc. turns out in between 8 hr forcepro shifts and 2 week shifts out at the OPs where we literally had to come up with various things to count and track just to stay awake in towers, we just fucking drank, kayak'd on the red sea, went on scuba diving and MWR trips to fancy hotels (fancy for a run down middle eastern resort city that attracted russians in droves for some reason) and being bored enough to lift weights 2 hours a day and leave that place with a ~550lb deadlift

Source or shut the fuck up, helmets won't stop a clean cut direct hit unless its extreme distance if you had actually seen the vid you'd know it was in a relatively close range urban/suburban environment and he went totally lifeless after being hit.
