Wtf is that
Chauchat 1918
When did Carl get glasses?
I confess being greatly infatuated with Mae.
I'm glad Ian finally managed to find someone worse than him at speed shooting, too bad he has to pick on two autists who make 2 hour videos about guns to do it though.
reddit isn't that bad desu
I'm entertained by it. Pretty good idea IMO.
thinskinned faggot mods on weekendgunnit permabanned me for calling them faggots. Fuck reddit!
Then why don’t you go there faggot instead of shitting up here?
KYS
What are you let down by? Project Lightning as a whole? Or the fact that a 30-06 Chauchat is just as garbage as a 8mm Lebel Chauchat?
Same shit happens here, what's your point?
because both sites have their uses and their merits you smoothbrained retard
kek I don't think it's Karl, I don't see the cum glass
>Same shit happens here
Hasn't happened to me yet in almost 7 years of shitposting on Jow Forums, and I've delivered much harsher bants to the mods here.
The worst treatment I've gotten from the mods/JIDF here was a warning for being a bad goyim by strongly suggesting that Israel shouldn't exist. That an on topic post BTW.
You're right, it's worse.
Don't misgender Karl, she's a tranny.
It's a good idea for a test but it has a few flaws, likely out of necessity. For one, they should start with the gun shouldered and a round chambered. Next, if they have to be prone, it should be in some kind of "shell hole" or the like to try and replicate where you would take a prone position in WW1. Ideally though, it'd be done from some kind of mock trench, since that's when you'd be engaging masses of men, on the counter attack.
But overall it was a good test and shows the limits of these early low capacity guns.
>Karl
It's Karla! Quit misgendering!
Whats his deal, Jow Forums
i'd arm my nation with lewis guns
both episodes sucked, forty minutes of idiots fumbling their reloads and Ian making them look bad, then fifty minutes of people who don't know how to shoot on the clock while Ian makes them look bad and/or dumps ammo while screaming about élan!
i'm pretty sure it's also by far the most expensive of them
A 3DPD
It's a total shitshow watching Mae flounder around with her girl muscles and fucking everything up yet they include her in the results like it means fuck all. Othias is honestly not much better. This would have been much more interesting with 3 shooters at or near Ian's level. even better if they got some familiarization time before running the tests. I know that ups the time/cost of the series but it would have been worth it imo.
Good on them for trying something different but it's been more miss than hit for me.
>hey we are doing this one format really good
>people like it
>let's change it up
>disaster
This happens a lot in the entertainment world. Creators want to do new shit because doing the same shit, gets stale even when it's working. I can't fault them for it. David Bowie might have been an awesome Ziggy Stardust for 50 years but he just didn't want that so he did a litany of other shit that was maybe not as good but kept him interested in life.
i honestly don't think mae contributes anything at all whatsoever to this or c&r at all
They changed the mag?
Me too, I mean how hard could it be to shave 2 seconds and have it be 14.88
they should have done it with Karl and Ian and used Sinestral Rifleman for the obligatory fat fuck
First he liked French guns, then he started to become retarded, not saying there is a connection.
But there is probably a connection.
He got Baguetted.
no. thats the 30-06 chauchat. it didnt have the half moon mag.
I liked the concept when it was first announced, but this whole thing was way too drawn out. The idea of having different shooters fire different guns and compare notes is cool. I think they had too many different drills and went into autism levels of detail talking about it afterwords. Plus I don't think two inexperienced shooters add much to the table. Maybe instead of Mae (or Othias, but Mae adds less to the show) have a combat veteran or someone else with a unique perspective.
they really needed better quality operators, yes
Decent enough and got some nice footage of extremely rare guns in action and some of their quirks. What said about the autism afterwords and more experienced shooter is right.
Mae honestly adds literally nothing to C&Arsenal as a whole. She's not qt enough to be a gun bunny, and isn't good enough at shooting to justify it that way.
OTOH, not very good at shooting is probably more historically accurate.
>i honestly don't think mae contributes anything at all whatsoever to this or c&r at all
she made my GF like milsurp. So she's fucking great and you can fuck off.
The fact that people on Jow Forums actually think she is hot is a testament to how desperate they are. I'm not going to go full incel and call every woman an ugly slut but just look at her. She is nothing to get excited about.
>Mae honestly adds literally nothing to C&Arsenal as a whole.
Worth repeating she made my GF cool with me spending on milsurp because look a chick does it too and she went and bought a Belgian mauser for herself. Thank you may.
sauce on the those points except the first one.
I didnt and don't understand the point of this whole project. From what I gather its:
>gathering subjective data about obsolete guns that has no purpose practically or academically. And subjecting me to introvert's cringy attempts at socializing.
I like to, at least pretend, my infotainment has value.
I've fucked worse. She's the type of girl good for some gentle sex and sitting on the couch watching "2001:a space odyssey" with. That's okay.
Karla's a priest at TST. Look into what they support.
en.wikipedia.org
And Ian stated multiple times that he hates anonymity and Jow Forums.
>i posted like im on Jow Forums outside of Jow Forums and got banned WTF!
you do realize that faggot is a pretty offense word, right? just because its used so often on Jow Forums that it's become a suffix doesn't mean that everyone else is ok with you saying it.
she is an absolute 5/10, her being a gun dork moves her up to a 6.
>faggot is a pretty offense word
Not him. But I forget this all the time. Like I've had instances where someone called me that IRL and I forgot to take offense to it. And I can't refer to my cats without using the word "faggots".
This. I don't hate on her personally, but she's kind of of just "there" in the videos to take away the pain of listening to Othias awkwardly croak for 45 minutes. But she doesn't usually have much actual input and watching some chubby masculine chick shoot guns isn't that entertaining by itself.
>Same shit happens here
you can call mods faggots with reckless abandon here, and nothing will happen, it's even a part of the culture, it's disingenuous to claim reddit and Jow Forums are anything alike
fuck off gay niggerfaggot
How cucked are you that a Youtube video had to convince your girlfriend your hobby was OK? My girlfriends have gotten into guns because they're curious about my interests.
>she is an absolute 5/10
That's pushing it. I've dated some pretty average girls and I don't think Mae'd rank that high since she's gotten fat. At least she was kinda cute when she was slim, even if she did look a little like a dude.
Yeah, I do keep accidentally saying "nigger" under my breath every time something shit happens to me. One day someone will hear me, then shit'll really hit the fan.
Mae may have been a 5/10 on a good day when she was skinnier. Now that she's fat, it's approaching a 3 for me.
I do partially agree. Mae just seems there because vagina. I like othias, but he clearly dosnt have a lot of range time. Ian is really the only competent one in both theory and practicality.
The idea behinde it is cool. But they should have had better shooters. Have othias give an over view of the doctrine behinde each gun, along with desgin choices ect. Then have ian and other people that can actually shoot, run the testing.
You would think with mea shooting everything in C&rsenal she'd actually be better at running shit. I get she has sol weak lady army, but everything ive seen so far is just her fumbling around not knowing how to operate as apposed to strength issues.
Shit. I've said it around "niggers" by accident. They didn't even really care after I told them why.
...... White women on the other hand.
I liked it. I enjoyed seeing the comparison of all the firearms with actual shooting instead of "Guys during the war LOVED/HATED these things" that you'd get from most historical firearm shows.
I watched 2001: A Space Odyssey with a 41 year old Filipino who'd fuck in public and piss on my face. She did enjoy shooting.
>Wtf is that
It looks like this thing called a "female", shooting a rifle.
Imagine being so poor a country you can't arm your soldiers with Lewis Guns
Yep. Basic bitches don't have the attention span for that shit. Women with grit will watch it with you though
I'm curious, why do so many of y'all think they needed expert shooters?
I dunno, maybe to see the machine gun preform at it's optimal performance maybe to also to show comparison between novice and pros/familiar operator of the firearm.
Considering the lifespan of most machine gunners was measured in minutes.... I think that's a fair representation of how the guns were actually run.
It looks like Karl got confused between the Church of Satan 90s edgelords and The Satanic Temple antifa sjws. At least the edgelords put some care into their appearance.
I think they just need more perspective in these videos. This series basically had a casual 2-gun shooter plus two fat people with no particular skill. Getting someone in there with a different viewpoint would've added something. Like a vet who's used MGs in combat, or an instructor, or something.
Three people taking 45 minutes to all say "It was heavy and pulled to the right" was pretty fucking dull.
I had glasses like Othias, ten years ago. My first girlfriend was ecstatic when I finally got a pair that didn't make me look like a 50-year-old action figure collector.
Othias is a very lucky man but I wouldn't want to fuck Mae
>be a tripfag
>be a fucking retard
without goddamn fail
The last thing I want to listen to is Braindead Jarhead the SAW gunner's meaningless personal anecdotes
Jow Forumss conception of an experienced shooter is the aloof part time cop/full time mercenary who does perfect video game reload animations while hitting everything with his perfectly zero'd sights at any range which they live vicariously in their heads personified in real life
A cool idea but it's tedious when half of their problems with a gun boil down to "I didn't do so great because I can't operate it very well because I don't have the days of training the people who were supposed to use it had". A great example was the last couple episodes when they tried to shoot point targets with no idea where the guns were shooting and do reload drills with only a faint memory of what a reload looks and feels like. It's hard to make judgements about a gun when the people operating it have such little experience. I'm also perplexed as to why they chose ww1 machine guns as the topic, it cool to see them give attention to guns not talked about a whole lot but it's also very impractical.
yeah, don't forget the "I have never shot under time pressure before in my entire life" issues they were having on this last one
Madsen is the overall best choice, lewis if you dont have to carry it everywhere.
it really depends on your use case and what you want to do with it
a BAR you're free to modify is an extremely solid choice
Bar isnt really an LMG though, i would like the BAR as an automatic rifle but for LMG role i would much rather have that madsen. It has a reasonable mag, is reasonably rugged, disassembles without tools, and is almost the same weight as the BAR.
the Madsen is box magazine fed just like the BAR, so I would argue it's automatic rifle more than machine gun, and with a better mag release and a bipod the BAR would beat it out, but stock, you're right
it's Lewis for machine gun duty all the way but I'd be crying about disintegrating belts the whole way
if you are allowed to mod then yes, the polish style BAR or the 1942 model of madsen are worlds better. But if i could get the lewis with a belt instead of the silly pan i would take that in a heartbeat.
M240B if we're allowed to start modifying willy-nilly so I think it's sensible to restrict it to things you could do in your garage, which means bipods pretty much
the Maxim with a bipod in a sensible place would be nice, except non disintegrating belts are shit
the BAR with any bipod at all even
How is shooting clay pidgeons relevant to WW1?
How is reloading a crew served weapon without an assistant relevant?
How is walking fire relevant?
They should just mud test the guns and be done with it.
>why they chose ww1 machine guns as the topic
Because all they do(so far) is WWI guns? Are you new?
Forty minutes of one good shooter and two literal nobodies fumbling about with guns they're not familiar with. I like the idea, but the only watchable parts are the ones with Ian in it, because only he had anything substantial to say about the guns.
>not watching the whole thing
>not realizing that they point this out IN THE FIRST FUCKING EPISODE
>not realizing that that's still a pretty useful measure of testing the practicality of the firearm
Remember folks, a four years starved German soldier was as tall as Mae and about as strong, and not even as well trained too. That's what the raw conscripts of 1918 looked like running their guns. Terrifying, isn't it?
>how is walking fire relevant
>WORLD WAR 1 MACHINE GUNS
>CHAUCHAT AND BAR WERE LITERALLY DESIGNED AROUND WALKING FIRE
Man, it's almost like they're doing shit specifically with World War 1 machine guns, examining the tactics of the day and seeing how well the guns could be used for the tactics of the day, however misguided they were.
Having people who aren't incredibly familiar with the weapon try to work on it is a good indicator of how FUBAR things can get in a battlefield. The more operations you have to do, the more likely it is to get royally fucked when the bullets start flying.
So much fucking this.
Good idea, mediocre execution.
Still interesting to watch.
>days of training
so at most 1 full magazine on a dry range? two if their camp had the extra budget for ammo?
what exactly is your conception of basic 18th century training?
20th*
sorry i'm little retarded myself
Depends on the sub. Niche communities like home chemistry, wood crafting (carving and shit, not that autistic bushcraft fuckery), homemade drugs and psychotropics, skating, or whatever are pretty chill and worlds better than anything Jow Forums has ever had. Likewise nosleep, short scary stories, and the ritual subs are a good standin for whatever the fuck /x/ has turned into. The meme, gun, and political subs, though, are every bit as shitty as nu-/b/, Jow Forums, and Jow Forums, with their overall autism compounded by the shadow ban and bot stalking tools. /tg/ and, oddly, /mlp/ are the only real standouts on 4chins anymore, with the former providing at least half of the OC on the cyoa and hfy subs and the latter being pretty much the only thing like itself on the interwebs anymore. Of course now that both yellowmoot and whomever controls plebbit are pushing hard for increased ad revenues, I fully expect both sites to turn into steaming piles of pajeet shit any day.
