Why doesn't the military or LE use the Trashcan-of-Death more often?
Why doesn't the military or LE use the Trashcan-of-Death more often?
Reliability seems to vary quite heavily from model to model, and even mag to mag, and this is despite vast improvements over the years.
Also adding in the bulk and weight the only use I truly see is it the first mag in your arm, similar to jungle mags. And thats with on par reliability and discounting bulk and weight.
Could be used for light support but then you get ino public opion of why does enforcmen need such firepower?
To short form, more potential downsides than upsides. Size doesn't always matter.

Set yourself on fire outside of a courthouse, you fucking boy molester.
Optics; but they will be using them in mass in the near future. Christians don't shoot themselves, you know?
Never shot with one but anyone with eyes can see they're significantly bulkier than more conventional 30 or 40 round magpul magazines and will inevitably be heavier fully loaded. You can see from your own image that one of these is fatter around than three standard mags, so if I want to carry more ammo I'd probably be better served taking 3 30 round mags or 3 40 round mags for 90-120 rounds opposed to 60. Also at least on Magpul's site these things cost 130 bucks while the simple unwindowed gen3 30 round mag costs 15, and the gen3 40 rounder costs 20. That means you could buy eight 30 round mags or six 40 round mags for a similar price, and for the military procurement cost is going to be a significant factor when it comes to supply large quantities of kit like mags.
Well screw me for trying to bring relevant advice as well as some humor back to Jow Forums.
I keep forgetting you newfags just want to sling shit and drive out the userbase.
They haven't been especially reliable. Saw a guy use a Surefire 60 in the Army during a field problem; doing break contact drills, lot of suppressive fire. He'd get about 4 - 8 rounds off before his shit would nosedive and FTF. This was 2014ish though maybe things have changed.
I don't see why cops would want them either. Even in a high-risk service I would still want something light and maneuverable to take corners with.
>drive out the userbase
that is patently oldfag behavior redditor.
Redditards aren' this sites userbase, it's reddit's. So go the fuck back and yiff in hell. No advice offered by a furry redditard is relevant, faggot.
The future is now, old man.
Stendos, baseplates, and D60 are getting more and more popular nowadays, mainly because it takes a decent company to make them actually reliable in order for them to be worth using.
>"Why don't people use this new product more often?"
>"Because when I was in the Army 8yrs ago an older product from a different company failed"
Jesus Christ I hate Army retards.
kill yourself, you subhuman furfag
Because they're utter shit in design.
Because they fail at an exponential rate compared to standard 30-rd mags.
Because they're big and unwieldy.
Because I'm not really going to be in a position where even if it functions perfectly, I would trade a trashcan for a few flat and easily packed mags; I know how to fucking change magazines and I'm not dealing with California-cucked 5 round abominations anyway.
Because I intend to actually carry my firearm somewhere other than to the range on show-and-tell day.
And here's a baguette frog with a D60.
>core oldfags are furfags
yiff in hell
what the fuck is that muzzle device, some kind of can?
Particularly hilarious when you ask their MOS and they're like "94 Foxtrot, not deployed but I was in some pretty dicey situations stateside."
Neck your self furnigger
my understanding is that literally everything except the D60 is junk and the extra weight/bulk doesn't justify it instead of just carrying 2 regular mags, because sustained automatic fire is for machine guns and not the service rifle.
but it does seem like a match made in heaven for IAR, bet the Corps could get D60s at a decent price too considering they just standardized on PMAGs a couple of years back.
>reliability issues
>heavier
>rifle becomes more bulky
>too bulky to store in mag pouches, especially on the plate carrier
>implying killing the cancer infecting Jow Forums isn't the goal
Get the fuck out faggot
It's a croissant maker. They wrap the dough around the barrel, the cover over it, then fire in full auto till it's done.
