Hearing protection

So im in the market for a new pair of earmuffs. Ive been considering some electronic ones with bluetooth but not sure which ones are good quality. what does Jow Forums think of them and does anyone have experience with them?

BUMP 4 INTREST

I thought we were friends Jow Forums. dont keep your secrets from me

msa sordin, peltor, howard leights

stay the fuck away from anything electronic! if your batteries are low, your hearing will pay the price.
you want ZERO chances of ever getting the EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE .... trust me.

buy cleararmor for $14. they're better than any other earpro at this price (and better than any electronic ones). at 31db of reduction, they're the top.

Can you clarify that?
My electronic earpro still works like regular clamshell muffs when the battery dies

Just get a pair of Howard Leight. Batteries essentially never wear out. Got my set in 2010, same set of batteries are still powering them.

This is fuddlore, kill yourself you stupid bitch. A proper set of electronic earmuffs will still work as earmuffs without the electronic bit.

They become regular earmuffs when the battery dies you retard.

I have the ones in your picture I like them they have a bit of static but are very loud. I have some peltors I have the range guards and some comtac3s I like the range guards they are soft and I can barely tell I am wearing them I like them more than the comtacs

Are comtacs a meme? I use Howard Leights right now, but I'm debating between just getting gel cups for them, or getting comtacs. I do use them for commo. But because of the limitations on connectors, it's just hooked to a poorfag baofeng.

Howard leights are cheap and effective but shit for comfort and slide off my ear during a cheek weld. Whats a better more comfy pair that isnt crazy expensive

>regular earmuffs
Yes, at less than 22dB NRR. They get 22dB with electronic and less without.
9dB of difference!
That's fucking MASSIVE!
Stay the fuck away from electronic shit if you don't want the EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

PS: And remember, kids, EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE stays with you till you jump off a tall building or take a shotgun shower because you've head enough.

appreciate all the suggestions guys!

some of the mentioned models are pricey as hell. I will have to put some cash to the side for those.

It seems like peltor and howard are the entry level models. They seem to only be the 20s in terms of protection. Is that common for electronic ones?

Yes. Might want to double up with in-ear earpro and just turn up the volume.

derp, just noticed that comtac are peltor.

There's Peltor Sport Tactical 500. Electronic hearing pro as well as bluetooth. $100 give or take. Personally haven't tried them, but I largely trust Peltors in general.

Howard Leights Impact Pros are usually $60 and 30 NRR.

MSA Sordin or 3M Peltor?

Thats if you buy cheap ones.
If you actually look around you can find good one from 25-34+ NNR

Depends on what 3M Peltor you want. If you want Comtacs, you're better off with Sordins unless you're actually going to be using a radio. If not, Peltor has a line of hearing pro that's largely better than Howard Leights Impacts in general.

Still, nowhere near the 31dB! The scale is LOGARITHMIC!!!!

Your ears, your choice. I want ZERO chance of ever getting the EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE (and going insane in the process) so I always use regular foam earplugs + ClearArmor. I've fired quite a bit of .50BMG last year and my hearing is still superb and I don't have the EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

Remember, all you need is ONE incident and your hearing will be FOREVER fucked. No turning back the clock.

so it seems for the average shooter like myself the Howard Leight Impact Pro and Peltor Sport Tactical 500 seem to be within budget and not too bad.

though with the peltor, i would probably run in ear muffs as well since most ranges near me are indoor.

No radio, only active earpro. So far I like the Sordin Supreme Pro X.

get you in a quiet enough room and you'll always be able to hear at least some form of EEEEEEEEEE

I like my peltor rangeguards better than my howard leights.

I have a set of the Walker's electric earmuffs but I shoot at an outdoor range and I already have the EEEEEEEEEEEE. They function well enough for my purposes.

Your results may vary of course.

Clearmore 141001 Safety Ear Muffs are 34 db NRR and took less than 30 seconds to find on google. Fuck off, electronic earpro is fine

I like my Sordin Supreme Pro Xs as well. I don't see any point in myself getting Comtacs until I figure out my radio situation. Granted, I do want something to put onto my incoming high cut.

And? Your brain can easily filter that out. But your brain will NEVER be able to filter out tinnitus.

They're not electronic you low IQ shithead. And that's the model in the first post I made in this thread. Hope you get the EEEEEEEEEE... we need less low IQ shitheads around here.
PS: Don't shoot under the chin... go for the temple.

Neat. I'll go for them then.

OP here.

So I decided on the two i listed before Howard Leight Impact Pro and Peltor Sport Tactical 500. I am leaning more towards the howards for the extra NRR.

I will start a side bank for saving up for some comtacs or sordins,.

Thank you all for the suggestions and comments! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

New to guns here, thinking of getting pic related. Thoughts?

Obvious troll but so other anons don’t fall for this, you’d have to be a literal retard to believe this shit. The rating is the same batteries or no batteries.
If you want more protection max the volume and put in plugs under the muffs. Now you can still basically hear like normal and you also have extra protection.
The noisefighters for HL impacts are worth it. I have several sets and using factory cups is like sandpaper TP in comparison. The glasses channel only works for straight frame glasses so it’s kinda a meme but the better and more comf seal is way worth it.

well, you need glasses and muffs
the only question is basically how much you paying for it
