The Marine Corps is a “middleweight” naval expeditionary force in readiness; perceives itself as adaptive, innovative, and frugal; and is institutionally paranoid.
The Navy is characterized by “hierarchical structure, deep branch distinctions, and a preference for operating forward and independently from the other services.”
The Air Force values “technology above all else,” is “experiencing an internal identity crisis” and is “highly effective in competing for resources.”
The Army feels “that it alone understands war, and that it is too selfless, taking on every task asked of it.”
The Navy and Marines are the only branches of the military that the United States needs. The Air Force’s unmanned and nuclear programs can be handled by the Navy and the Army is the world’s largest jobs program.
Here's the actual report for anyone who wants to read it. The RAND corporation is a bunch of crackpots with an agenda, but if the summary is accurate, they might be right for once.
Kevin Gray
There's truth to this, but how do you get a goliath organization like the Army to reintegrate without sacrificing defense capabilities of the nation?
Wyatt Diaz
The AF is retarded and since some fag 4-star destroyed our identity about a decade or so ago we haven’t had an identity to have a crisis about. It’s full of retard kids that wanted an easy .mil job and it shows. It is the welfare queen branch but no one will admit it. Esprit de corps is a per squadron affair and is low to nonexistent in range. Everyone just views it as a job and everyone that is all blued our is too stupid to actually be effective at anything besides being brainwashed let alone war fighting. If you’re AF you should feel embarrassed. I know I do.
Dominic Brooks
Uh... okay. Can I have my ID back now? there's a lot of cars behind me
Nathaniel Lee
That's not your post briefing, try again.

Friendly reminder that all the BDU replacements are symptoms of the interservice rivalry autism that has sent the US Military into a downward spiral since 9/11 along with massive corruption and civilian mismanagement
The Marines are a redundant Army. Fold the Marines into the Army (only another corps to add), since the Army conducted the largest amphibious assault in history anyway. You could then eliminate all the redundant echalons outside of the forcecom elements.
>Marines Retards only persisting because they hire marketing (((experts))) >Army Jerry Springer/Maury: the Branch >Navy Useful, suave, attractive, charismatic, brave, intelligent, traditional, humble, yet forward thinking lovers of America that actually create net benefit to the world. And responsible for avenging 9/11. >Air Force Stuck up college kiddies and “professionals” that wanted to wear uniforms without any chance of breaking a nail or spilling their Starbucks. >Coast Guard Let’s get real, nobody gives a fuck
David Torres
No bias here.

>A second tenet of the Army is that it has a fuller and more intimate understanding of war than the other services. Until the end of World War II, the defense cabinet positions consisted not of secretaries of the Navy and the Army but rather of a secretary of the Navy and a secretary of war. Classical works of military strategy, such as On War by Carl von Clausewitz and Sun Tzu’s The Art of War, are typically written from the perspective of ground combat, further linking landpower to strategy in the Army. If the Air Force and the Navy are enamored of their domains, the Army believes that it alone understands the true and full nature of war. Both in the course of this study and in professional life, soldiers are apt to describe their profession by quoting T. R. Fehrenbach’s history of the Korean War: >>You may fly over a land forever; you may bomb it, atomize it, pulverize it and wipe it clean of life—but if you desire to defend it, protect it, and keep it for civilization, you must do this on the ground, the way Roman legions did, by putting your young men into the mud. >The greatest intellectual heroes of the Army are long deceased—Clausewitz, Sun Tzu, and Thucydides—suggesting that war is something eternal, a fundamental, unchanging aspect of human nature.
Henry Ramirez
>Marines they're a raid force, they can take but cannot hold. Train to do one thing very, very well: capture ports. Hasn't had to do said job in a while, because nobody else maintains a competent navy who also wants to pick fights with us, so they get thrown around into things that aren't actually their job.
>Navy in practice, the US is a gigantic continent-sized fortress, and dominates global trade. To make the world safe for commerce you need a navy to deter piracy and protect our merchant marine. And considering that anyone foolish enough to declare war on the US is on other continents, the merchant marine is *essential* to keeping up our logistics Over There
>Army control of sea lanes and ports are important for logistics, but at the end of the day, humans civilizations are built up on land, not on sea, and the further you get from sea, the more complex your logistics get. Combat troops ultimately need beans and bullets to stay in the fight. And different terrain requires different types of troops. Ultimately it is the Army or the threat of it which wins wars.
>Air Force Air superiority simplifies your logistics while making your opponents logistics more difficult. However, combat aircraft endure constant stress and violence even without having to fire a shot. Far more labor intensive just to keep a small cadre of officers in the fight. Can't win a war by itself, but makes things a lot easier for the Army.
>Coast Guard they're cops, on a boat.

>Coast Guard >Let’s get real, nobody gives a fuck Isn't the coast guard the most professional of all five services, to a large degree because, if I remember right, like 80% of all people joining stay in till they reach their 20 years of service and can retire, and because joining requires actual effort and not just walking into the next recruitment station with a IQ slightly above room temperature, reducing the number of total fuckups joining quite drastically?
Liam Harris
Expand the Marines and help the states expand the National Guard.
America was never meant to have a federal standing army, which is why it has to be reauthorized every two years or it gets abolished, per the Constitution.
Jace Brooks
>if I keep reposting the same meme maybe people will believe me
Brayden Williams
Sounds right. Know a guy who washed out of their training. Apparently, they have a pretty strong espirit de corps
Well, when you abolish rum and the lash, what have you got left?
Luis Clark
Yeah, I tried to enlist. Got perfect ASVAB (like that means jack shit) but I’ve got shit right ear hearing. Maybe when there’s a war on I can get a waiver, but those fucks wouldn’t give me one.
>tfw in college for pussy ass programming instead I just hope I can get a job at a defense industry company.
Hudson Thompson
>never served in a flying squadron > "the air force has no identity"
Hunter Turner
Maybe you should hustle as hard as you hate
Liam Sullivan
damn how bad is your hearing that they denied you? what did you do to abuse your ear? that kind of shit scares me a lot
Benjamin Powell
I imagine you would be pretty paranoid too, if the first question that people ask about the Marines is "why do we need the Marines when we have the Army?", and you existed solely at the discretion of political entities that don't understand your purpose on a good day.
Isnt it for the MEUs? The ability for the president to drop an entire battalion of angry manlets on our enemies without having to go through congress?
Matthew Garcia
neat
Julian Allen
What I'm gathering from this is
Air Force: Insecure bitch bois determined to prove themselves
Navy: The distant, aristocratic masters of their domain, inscrutable to everyone outside their organization, and not prone to sharing.
Army: The humble and helpful defenders of America, determined to play a role, no matter if its fighting on the front lines or scrubbing the toilets.
Marine Corps: A fucking cult.
Ryder Brooks
Navy camo always makes me chuckle.
Bentley Kelly
And the army can't have a mobile easily deployed battalion why?
Isaiah Kelly
The USMC already has it? If it ain't broke dont fix it?
Adam Sanchez
Marines: My Ass Rides In Navy Equipment
Justin Rodriguez
So lets just accept that, that integrating seven battalions into the army would be a huge hassle. What role do the other approximately 150,000 personnel serve?
Xavier Foster
As an expeditionary force permanently navy mobile.
Gavin Young
The Army already has a few of those, though.
Ryder Hall
That actually sounds pretty good. We'll call them: Marines.
Luke Evans
I think I get it now
>Air Force Halflings
>Army Men
>Navy Elves
>Coast Guard Dwarves
>Marines Orcs
Ryder Harris
But the expeditionary force is just seven battalions. If you need to deploy multiple divisions why can't the army be deployed? Or are you saying a branch with 180,000 active and 30,000 reserve personnel is required to logistically support seven battalions?
What ever coast gaurd does some real good and are usefull as fuck
Brandon Russell
I was stating that was the purpose of the marines. During the surge it was marines, army, and natty guard a boots on the ground. The marines can be deployed in force the quickest.
Cameron Lopez
So what's it like being the Navy user?
Blake Torres
ARMY: Aint ready to be a Marine yet
Sebastian Fisher
Not until non-toxic crayons are supplied
Noah Parker
Sodomy. Pure unadulterated sodomy.
Henry Turner
I mean, you're somewhat right, and "technically" that how' it's supposed to work based on the constitution, but realistically, the Army and Navy are the foundation of the Military today, moreso the Army.
Austin Johnson
>objectively worst performing branch >implying other branches don't mess up this bad >implying being overworked won't lead to disaster as shown in your image
Gavin Gomez
“Ain’t” isn’t a word used in formal acronyms. Not that I expect you to spell anything, Jose
Jayden Ross
Just abolish the military. It worked for Iceland and Costa Rica. Leave national defense to state and private militias and individual gun owners.
Andrew Peterson
>the Army is the world’s largest jobs program.
Not arguing against that, being former Army myself. But sometimes you just need bodies to occupy an area for a while.
Easton Sanchez
Dumb Flip nigger sailor detected.
>implying being overworked won't lead to disaster as shown in your image
Which is the fault of the Navy you moron. You can't suck hard then claim to not be the worst branch. If being overworked is such an issue why does the Navy have more Admirals than ships? Fire some and hire more enlisted people.
Bentley Clark
>The Air Force values “technology above all else,” is “experiencing an internal identity crisis” and is “highly effective in competing for resources.”
Yeah, mostly. The sad part is a lot of AFSCs will horde military equipment and never break it out for training or deployments. Every Security Forces unit I've been in kept all their ACOGs, Thermal sights and MG optics in a locked cage and never ever issued them.
Lucas Powell
coast guard > navy the coast guard is literally the perfect branch for people who love the sea but aren't gay
Thomas Thomas
>wow big boy knows big words like acronym that makes me sooo smart seriously get fucked nigger, statistically the Army has more retards than the Marines
Thomas Evans
do you understand how retarded that idea is? a country like the US needs a large military to survive if not it will become irrelevant like Canada on the world stage
Leo Phillips
>Navy Getting shit on by flip mafia and negros while you work 18 hour days with no relief. If you're an officer you'll be above the law even if caught red handed taking bribes and participating in human trafficking. Also if you are a thot you can finish your enlistment without lifting a finger.
>be army >given the ability to operate nuclear reactors >pin one of my people to the ceiling with one of the control rods when it shoots out of the core
>your people You weren't even born yet faggot and industrial accidents happen in every field. Also learn to GPS and not surrender like a bitch to some ragheads with shittier gear en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016_U.S.–Iran_naval_incident
That must be why the Marines couldn't control Fallujah, can't stop raping the Okinawans like the niggers they are and got told to stay the fuck away from Guam.
Levi Reyes
>Every Security Forces unit I've been in kept all their ACOGs, Thermal sights and MG optics in a locked cage and never ever issued them. RPG consumables logic.
Cooper Clark
If that navyfag is so asspained about that guy getting killed he should apologize on the Navy's behalf for abandoning Air Force TACPs to their deaths in Afghanistan, and to the US Army for murdering that one green beret in Africa for catching their money laundering scheme.
salty about marines? 1. Fallujah was like 10 years ago and marines only fallowed orders so i wouldn't say it was their fault 2. who gives a fuck about Okinawans? 3. again who care about Guam? like i said statistically the Army has more scumbags and niggers than every branch combined
Ian Lee
the guy who got killed was a seabee lmao
Aaron Roberts
MMN1 but close
Charles James
>Be US Navy Seal >Literally abandon an Airforce TACP to his death on a mission to attack an enemy stronghold, block him from receiving medal of honor for 10 years >Be working with Army Special Forces fucking around in Africa, one of them catches us using informant money to get hookers and send back home, we strangle him to death and Navy backs us up from receiving punishment for years >Reenlist over dead teenagers body and shoot aimlessly into a crowd of Iraqi civilians, this goes on for another decade until a trial starts >Get other than honorably discharged >End up writing a book and being rich anyway
No other branch can pull this shit off
Gavin Ramirez
>It was like a long time ago man Faggot argument. Let's bring up Mad Tranny Mattis who disobeyed POTUS and tried to allow trannies in the military. >Who gives a fuck about Okinawans? You say this while bemoaning the Army for having scumbags? >Who gives a fuck about Guam? Yeah fuck Americans, right Marine? Go kill yourself next time you get one of those retarded M16A4s.
Aaron Williams
Woah, what the fuck? Who?
Ryder Wood
fyi im not a marine just like rustling jimmies also shit digits my dude
Oliver Clark
>shit digits my dude Right back at you you fucking STOLEN VALOR FAKE Jow Forums WARRIOR!
Tyler Evans
Nice quads
It's a mixture of a couple of navy seals, the information is off base by a bit since I haven't read up on that for a while but most of that is accurate. Navy blocked a tacp from getting a moh when our guys left him for death. Our guys also strangled and killed a sf soldier when he was going to report what was happening. The last one is super recent, a seal e6 was doing all sorts of crazy shit and they're having seals testify under anonymity because the shit he was doing was that insane.
Daniel Moore
how am i stealing valor? also my new digits aren't half bad
Asher Campbell
It's a joke. You sure you aren't a marine?
Isaac Campbell
thats one salty joke tbqhwy
Carter Reed
The founding fathers were right, it's only because of money hungry faggots that we got two more branches that just suck money.
David Robinson
>gigantic continent sized fortress MAKE IT HAPPEN
Xavier Diaz
It's always struck me as bizarre that >The Navy has a Skydiving school >The Air force has a Scuba diving school
Aaron Morris
>being overworked in a comfy bridge at sea outside of wartime This is why the US Navy is much more of a paper tiger than anyone would like to admit.
