Well yeah, they still assign a FIN to the poly80 lowers. And if they find an incomplete one they won't pester you. But we're saying that if they find a complete one they would have to prove that it was finished more than 30 days after finding it to charge you with anything.

At which point you add a serial number to it and register it.

Given all this talk, SOMEBODY here must have experience with purchasing one from Aztec.

Difference is purchasing an 80% lower right after the bulletin was issued by RCMP from the likes of CTS Supplies led to a piece of paper akin to registration, which had the serial number part empty and identified it as an incomplete lower. While Aztec does not register it as a lower at all and just confirms your RPAL and sends the poly80 your way, so far.

Is there anything that traces it to you though?

Yes because ctcs pre registers them, as stated on their product page. Asstech doesn't, they assign a FIN to each lower they bring in and leave it to you to finish registration. So once you're done completing the 80% you're supposed to put your own serial number on it and call it in to the CFP to have it registered formally.
Some people do, some people don't. Why don't you get one and try it out?

The Aztec one? The only "trace" would be the record of the RPAL confirmation through the online CFP system, as well as the record of sale of one such item on Aztec's online records (and your ID/account on Aztec's site). There's nothing uniquely identifying the particular 80% lower connecting it to you physically though.
