Rhodesia wasn't like South Africa, they viewed black people as children rather than as non-humans and the eventual aim of the state was a transition to responsible back rule after educating the majority of the population to western standards.
Plenty of blacks were perfectly happy with their lives in Rhodesia, there were even black millionaires and as long as they met the same educational and property owning standards as whites they were considered equal.
Plenty considered their country to be one worth dying for in the face of communist oppression and served in the Rhodesian security forces, with units like the Selous Scouts being 80% black.
These particular soldiers are members of the Rhodesian African Rifles, who ironically ended up saving Robert Mugabe's regime by defeating the ZIPRA uprising at Entumbane in 1981.

I'd just like to point out it wasn't as rosy for blacks as Jow Forums makes it out to be. I've heard interviews with educated blacks who were kids in Rhodesia before the war and they definitely felt like second class citizens. Not like they were in danger of being disappeared like in SA but they they didn't have the opportunity they wanted.
