Knife Thread

Talk about the cutty stabby.

Who here switchblade? Always wanted one, but I'm not collector so no way I'm paying top dollar for a toy. Here's hoping my chinesium knoife isn't a total disappointment. If this one isn't total crap I'm going to try one of the leverletto rip-offs next.

I used to have assisted open and spring operated knives when I was in High School, but when they started breaking on me (cause I bought poorfag 60's japanese shit) I decided to just get a $20 folder and roll with it as my EDC utility.

So far this Wallyworld Callimus works fine. I've had a stelleto before and they're fun to click open and close, but if you want a knife to keep your hands busy, I'd say a Ballisong.

And in case anyone is wonder what top dollar for a stiletto is pic related is it at $250ish.

Well I should say top dollar for new mfg. You can pay out the ass for vintage shits.

Anything without a fixed blade is an absolute meme.

I know(hope) you're trolling but I definitely think auto knives are memes. I don't care what you paid for it...it's a toy.

I like the manual ones.

>fixed blade
Only for heavy duty things.

nice S&W border guard
my wife has that one too.
I broke mine while throwing it into a pine tree.

TLDR Don't throw your S&W border guard at pine trees

Thanks, yeah I try not to be rough with my blades. There are some real cheap ones I have from chinkmart and I literally throw them at trees. I get bored at times.

If you’re buying just to keep your hands busy they wear down pretty fast and get shaky. The handle on mine is starting to rattle but then again it was $30

Mine were rattling a bit, but I just tightened them with a random bit I found. They work for what I need it to. If it falls off a boat or gets left behind at a job site I'm not out a ton. You get what you pay for, but I find the loss of knives more common than them breaking.

>that camillus trash knife
friend of mine bought one and the blade snapped within a day

>Who here switchblade?
Does Ti Lite VI count?
In my country it's forbidden to carry a real switchblade with a >10cm blade outside of your home and at home this is more of a collector's piece.

Hungarian knife laws suck ass max blade length is just 8 cm

Here's a task. I have a friend who has a workshop. And I have a 12cm Lauri carbon steel blade.
I want my friend to make me a custom puukko-style hanldle, and he already agreed to help me, but I have doubts on what kind of a handle I want. The knife's purpose is daily use,but I want it to be useful and look cool at the same time.

Here are the variants I've figured and which seem interesting to me:
1. A Harma Puukko style handle - barrel-shaped handle, brass bolster and butt of specific shape, something similar to Iisaki Jarvenpaa's model.
2. Plexiglass handle - made of several plexiglass pieces, similar to the wartime trench-made puukko handles of finns and soviets.
3. Mix of the aforementioned variants - a Harma puukko butt and bolster with plexiglass handle.
4. Soviet trench art/prison art - plexiglas handle with letter N, may require adding clip point and fullers to make the knife look authentic.
5.Finnish frontline style- Aluminum bolster, aluminum butt, birch bark or leather handle. May include aluminum sheath.

Been looking into Italian stilettos. How do they get into the country? How often does a load get in? There's various sites selling them and it seems like a lot of the variations are out of stock. like it's been a while since a load got in. If you ordered one from overseas what are the chances of customs seizing it?

Anyone bought an auto knife from overseas and had it get caught by customs?

Look up the punishment tests, they are pretty tough. What was he doing with it even?

throwing it at a wooden target

To be fair it's not a throwing knife. How many times? I have seen it go up side an air conditioner and keep going.

I love this knife so much. It came perfect for me from the factory. So rare for me to not modify my knives. 2nd knife inc

I also love this Ganzo knife. Worth every $13 to have an axis-lock knife. Even by torturing it and turning into a, "stab only," self defense blade. I took the scales off cuz i like this heavily-damaged look.

If you cant afford a $250 knife, you need to stop being so poor. I dont own any folding knife worth

I'm one of those folks that like the clean new look. But I understand the personal aesthetic. I rather let my knife get the damaged look naturally so it has a story to tell.

I dig it, how do you like that 1? Was gonna get 1

Well it has all the tools you need for the most part leaving out the wine bottle opener but I rarely use that. The durability is good and its not too light or heavy. I think the best attribute is even if it's a folder its a large knife. only set me back 34 bucks too so it's really a deal. Though it is a SAK Centurion and from what I have read it is discontinued. However the adventurer I believe is the same with red scales instead of black.
