This is the new camouflage pattern of the Austrian army. What's your take on it? I think it's better than the plane olive uniform that was worn previously but the way i see it the new pattern is a bit to bright, considering the Austrian Landscape is mostly mountains and softwood forrest.
Austrian army new camouflage pattern discussion thread
Why take a picture with Puchwein? He"s pathetic and weak.
Interesting, it's not digital camo but kinda looks like it nonetheless.
Some examples in the field.
How do pictures of fields help us discuss camo
It's kind of a mix between flecktarn and digital cameo.
Comparison with the old uniform.
Wow, a modern camouflage pattern that doesn't look like total shite. They could tone down the tan color but other than that I like it.
Tfw we'll never see this as surplus
Maybe after a few years they'll allow commercial production like the Finns did for M05.
Can’t wait to buy it surplus
The Austrian Ranger green is actually a pretty good overall color for vegetation. Gets the job done without looking overt.
desu the older uniform looks better
Compare it to some Emus?
I wish both would remain in use
Both aesthetic for different reasons
Probably will happen, the Austrian Army suffers from budget problems like almost all European armed forces, so the old one will likely remain in service of reserve and conscript units for some time.
make a camo
but all your gear is not that camo
use gear and put velcro all over the helmet....

Isn't their entire Army conscripted and reserve?
Nope, there are about 20000 active professional soldiers, 15000 conscripts and 30000 reservists. The main focus is on a reservist system but full time professional soldiers still make up a big chunk of the army.
I do hope the sidewalk chalk colors look different under normal light and after a few washes. It's the same for the new Dutch cammies.
Looks very aesthetic. Was it made for the Austrians currently patrolling in Africa? Then the brightness would make sense.
Don't think so, the troops stationed there already use multicam.
Olive drab always looks better than that bright digital shit
I can barely see the 60yo man and 23yo women both of who have no business being in any military.
What’s the old OD style called? I want some
Olivgrün
Agreed, they're retards. Austria doesn't have bright terrains like minus flower patches deep in th forested and deserted areas
Small correction, it is formally called the "Kampfanzug 03", which means combat suit 03. It is fairly outdated though, considering it was introduced in the early 2000s.
