fun gun.
if you get a good one, it'll stay good for a loong time
greater percentage of lemons, but i think new production is good to go.
do your HW and don't buy sight unseen

I’ve never had one, but also would like. Bumping for knowledge

They're fine, not sub 1 moa or anything but accurate enough. also the pictany rail is welded on and looks ugly. You see weld marks on a couple different parts of the gun that dont look flash. I would suggest replacing the lower(?) with one made from aluminum i believe ptr makes them.

the polymer ones are the crap we don't want.
believe the good ones are steel.

I know polymer ones are crap, but I thought the ptr offered aluminum ones. Steel is even better if thats what they really sell.

The Fallout 3 assualt rifle looka kinda like a bastard child of a g3 and a fal

If your near central FL I’ll sell you mine.

no it doesn't.
point to the parts that look FAL

>larping with anything other than big irons or Maria

You didn't play the good non-isometric Fallout, did you?

Fallout 4 guns are ugly
You're much better going with a Fallout 3 service rifle
I'm normally not a fan of ARs but Fallout does them right

Attached: fallout service rifle.jpg (1024x702, 103K)

Fallout 3 didnt have a Service Rifle, it had the Assault Rifle... Which was a hybrid of a FAL and G3, almost exactly like the OP pic.
Also fuck the service rifle, if its shitty enough to get handed to underfunded NCR troops, it aint worth me using
Cept Survivalist's Rifle, cause i respect history

not sub 1 moa or anything
>he doesnt pay 2.5k for a custom g3 clone from germany
>he doesnt believe the sketchy claim of 11-22mm groups at 100m
>he spends his money responsibly

I liked mine, i had a PTR-91 before they started selling the paddle mag release version but the button wasn't too bad. You can buy surplus G3 metal lowers for pretty cheap and only took me a little grinding with a dremel to get it to fit. Fun flinging brass down range and the fluted chamber pisses off brass jews. Ended up selling it for a FAL any ways lel

The NCR is an analog to American troops in conflicts such as Vietnam and the civil war.
They're not underfunded.

G3 stock with pin holes and the baseplate. Definitely modeled after the g3.

Do you just play the century lottery with these or what? PTR makes all the important shit on them so how bad can they be? Can't you just swap out whatever is shitty gor ptr/g3/cetme parts?

If you get a C308 be sure to replace the firing pin, Century makes these from CETME parts kits put together with PTR parts but the firing pin is milsurp so tends to be worn down and breaks easily resulting in slam fires. I mean Century will gladly replace the firing pin with a brand new one if it breaks but again if it does then it will result in slam fires which are dangerous. Other than that the C308 is actually pretty decent for a budget battle rifle despite being made by Century of all companies.

read this

also to add on to this, be sure to replace the grease because Century puts on cheap shit grease that accumulates all the residue and overtime this will result in your gun jamming a lot or not loading properly because the grease collected so much residue that it clogged the rifle up. This applies extra if you want to use milsurp ammo.

Is that the only shitty part?

wasn't this thing based of of an H&K rifle?

What other parts on a C308 are questionable?

Yeah its a giant mp5

It's a g3 clone

No, but there's an HK rifle based off of it.
The G3 is a CETME clone.

What was the cetme? I'm unfamiliar
>Inb4 lurk more nogunz

The R91 is just an HK43 with wooden furniture. It is not even remotely influenced by the FAL.
Also, the NCR is relatively speaking NOT underfunded

You're joking right? Or are you talking about the NCR government outside of New Vegas? There are so many NPCs that talk about how poorly equipped, underfunded, and mismanaged things are. There are entire quest lines about how the NCR lacks the funding and manpower to hold New Vegas and you the player have to save them. Hell, an en Ex-NCR trader says that they don't even issue armor or enough bullets to some troops and she has to help them.

Attached: 188_Trading_Post.jpg (1728x1080, 1.12M)

Okay, not underfunded, just under equipped. Remember that troops coming in have 2 weeks of basic and cloth armor. Im honestly surprised they weren't given Varmint Rifles but I guess Gun Runners caught em a deal

Get an ar10 with wood furniture

Nothing else I can think of, maybe replace the trigger for a better one but you do that with any budget rifle. Not that its bad but there are better ones out there.

The rifle in the OP pic. It's a Spanish battle rifle designed by the guy who would later tweak the design a bit and call it the G3. They're pretty much the same thing.

Oh I see. Learn something new everyday I guess

The polymer (navy) lower isn't crap, they work fine. If you get a steel one, they need to be properly clipped and pinned with a welded shelf to correctly fit the c308. Pre-paddle ptr91 lowers should fit. Some people have reported issues with g3 trigger packs in a c308. Keep in mind the c308/cetme bcg is not compatible with a ptr/hk bcg. That said, inspect before purchase, know your correct bolt gap and how to measure it, know how to inspect the locking piece shoulders. I greatly enjoy mine. Very reliable.

"I asked for more ammo, they sent the mail run"
-Siege of FIrebase Gloria

looks more like one of these

PTR 91 is better. Their cheapest is about $960. Either way they are cool guns. I'm still surprised how light the recoil is.

also the surplus mags are so cheap.

Attached: IMG_E1306.jpg (3467x1545, 1.08M)

A white synthetic stock and grip would look cyberpunk as fuck.

Looks like one of the shrapnel prone cast aluminum receivers

No it doesn't. It looks like a poorly modeled cetme.

Add a heavy buffer and the recoil becomes even lighter.

Buy ptr

I would grab one of these so fast if they had the paddle release. That button is just too far to comfortably release the magazine.

I assembled mine. It was a good project. Very rewarding when I fired my first shot with it.

PTR91s are excellent.

Sometimes the trunnion is fucked up. I can't use irons on mine because at Max adjustment it's 12moa off. Works fine with a cheap 3x scope though. Really, just take it for a test shoot before buying.

Bolt heads are not uncommonly ground for false bolt gap. It's easy to spot, and a g/vg replacement is neither hard to find nor expensive. Extractor springs can also fail, but are very cheap and readily available.

Save your money and get a PTR91 dude. In the long run the extra 300 or so is well worth it.

The rifle itself is the cheapest expense over the years if you're doing it right ammo, optics, and other shit should make 1k look like a Sunday at the range.

The spanish paperclip Op, mauser engineer Ludwig Vorgrimler made it from stg45 designs. Cetme wanted to partner with mauser, but they refused. At the door of that meeting HK was waiting willing to partner with Cetme, that gave them the blueprints and the g3 was born.
The original cetme was made for a different caliber with the instructions to be accurate at 1000m full auto, then converted to NATO standards.
