what does Jow Forums think of a non bullpup AUG?

plastic/10

Called an AR-18 and there's no reason to make it look like that.

>Is it even an aug if the mechanism is changed that much?

Either way I like when non bullpups become bullpups and vice-versa.

>plastic trigger
>a foot away from the action
There is no reason for them not to be AR-18

It's augly

Short but with long barrel. That's the reason.

no

Better than a bullpup any day.

Why

gross

Hm, I kinda like it.

Quicker reloads, quicker malf troubleshoots, ability to manipulate most things on the rifle without taking your eyes off the area youre aiming at, > long barrel in short package.

Huge stock with no functionality whatsoever. Why would you want that?

It's horrifically ugly. I want one

Fill the hollow polymer stock with Benadryl

Inferior in every way, you homosex cum guzzling satanist

the stock is just hollow i guess. shoulda made it a folding stock

Looks incredibly front heavy

I hate the Steyr AUG with a deep and burning passion and not even un-bullpupping can change that

get fucked

>Frasier
>Hates AUGs
Absolute patrician savant

What is muscle memory? I'll give you the troubleshoot, but the rest, what is muscle memory?

Something I don't have to work on with a normal rifle. I can focus more on marksmanship and junk.

>Something I don't have to work on with a normal rifle.
Are you actually retarded?

looks gross as hell

>what is intuitive design?
You don't know. Normal rifles are more intuitive. Quicker at everything with less effort put in developing "muscle memory"

Fukken hell...

Pointless. The stock on traditional rifles is just wasted space, you may as well stick the action back there. Soon grandpa guns will be obsolete.

Is the AUG an AR18 action? Or do you just call every non AK piston action an AR18 action?

hideous

>Can't use long ass grandpa guns one handed, in vehicles, or in small structures

Have fun dying for a .1 second faster reload, if that. It's called training.

Your comparison image is terrible. This is what it would look like if the AUG was a conventional rifle with the exact same barrel length. Also I tried to move the scope up and get a similar eye relief, though really it would be a completely different design if done properly.

>the difference between bulldogs and oldguns is 4 inches

You totally can use them one handed, just tuck stock under armpit. The other stuff, yeah not as much.

>just stop aiming to use them one handed bro!

The us army teaches to bring the rifle into your “workspace” to reload. Basically you twist the rifle to its side, mag facing inward, so you can see what you’re doing and then put the butt stock on your bicep and reload.

I think the AUG is a better platform, but there’s nothing wrong with reloading like that

>t. Infantryman and AUG owner

Dude ive sat through the meetings (you have too if you are who you claim) where they play the clip from "heat" where val kilmer does an ideal "reload and re-engage" and somehow talk about it for 20 minutes.

He's talking about firing it one handed, not the mechanic of reloading in which you will obviously hold onto the rifle with one hand, duh.

Bullpups can still be fired accurately even if you have one injured arm because the handle is further out and there is less weight (thus inertia) on the far end. Firing a conventional rifle, especially a long barreled one, single handed is very awkward and slow.

We're talking about weapons of war here, not machines that just put holes on paper. There are plenty of scenarios I can think of where one of your arms goes down in a war setting. If you have a bullpup you can still shoot, and shoot decently while your partner is dragging you out of the danger zone. With a longboi, not so much. ARs being a bit of an exception because they lack a piston and are made out of fucking aluminum, so they're pretty light.

>they lack a piston and are made out of fucking aluminum

You act like these are good things, and no it's not easy to use one handed. The barrels are still steel so they're front heavy and unbalanced.

It's like the real-life version of rule 63.

Kek

It is laid out a bit different, but it works the same way. BCG has two long piston-like extensions, one or the left for the charging handle and one on the right for the piston to hit, so the bolt carrier almost looks like its based off a Stoner 63, but the system is short stroke like an AR-18, not long stroke like the Stoner 63.

My fren, you sound upset.

Those are good things. The AR-15's receiver doesn't need to contain the force of the cartridge firing, there is no reason to make it out of a heavier material and increase weight and cost.
Also, especially with a loaded mag, the AUG is fairly evenly balanced considering your hand sits under about the mid point of the gun's barrel and receiver.

B-but... AUG loves you.

Imagine all the (you)s you could have gotten with a picture of Carlos.

I'm sure you like genderbender manga.
