She's obviously aware that glocks have no selector safeties. She words it poorly, so you ridicule her. But in the process you make her look reasonably informed and make it look like you didn't know that.

>>this is the average female reporter's understanding of a trigger safety
I wouldn't really say it's about her being a woman or a report. I'd be willing to bet most people wouldn't know about such things if they're not really into firearms and the like.

She is correct though. Leaving a glock out in public is indeed more dangerous because of the lack of an external safety.

Her statement was about how you can pull the trigger since there is no safety. It's a stupid point as you can just turn the safety off and pull it anyways. It's a poor argument on her part.

Gotta go with this guy. Why the fuck is the cop unholstering his weapon in the bathroom anyway? Was he taking a shit and removed his duty hell and left the entire thing? Otherwise this makes 0 sense.

Capital police can be exceptionally retarded. Some of them that work in the neighborhoods are exceptional police officers that are good at what they do, the ones the capital building are not those officers.

>It's a stupid point as you can just turn the safety off and pull it anyways

Not really though: the general public is ignorant about handguns and many people believe that all handguns have an external safety. This means that a complete retard might pick up the glock and pull the trigger, thinking that it won't fire because he hasn't disengaged the external safety which he doesn't know doesn't exist on that gun.

I believe this is her point. And it's a legitimate enough point.

Now, you'll rightly point out that only a complete mouth breathing moron would assume a random gun they find laying around has an external safety engaged and would casually pull the trigger. And that's true. But complete mouth breathing morons do exist and if anybody innocent is in the area, they might be the ones who get shot by that moron.

>Now, you'll rightly point out that only a complete mouth breathing moron would assume a random gun they find laying around has an external safety engaged and would casually pull the trigger.
A lot of people are mouth breathing morons

For nogunz when they pick up a firearm their natural instinct is to put their finger on the trigger.

Exactly. Because it has no external safety, a loaded glock with one in the chamber is about the last gun you'd want to leave laying around where a mouth breather could find it.

>Why the fuck is the cop unholstering his weapon in the bathroom anyway? Was he taking a shit and removed his duty hell and left the entire thing?

Copfag here, this shit is pants-on-head retarded but more common than you think.

This shithead I used to work with does it on a regular basis and caused two separate incidents.

>was SRO
>our department was in a small town, so there really was no need to use public restrooms, so we all just used the PD bathroom for dropping timber
>this faggot goes to the PD bathroom to take a dump, unholsters his duty weapon
>finished up, left
>went out on the road for a few hours to do traffic stops (why would an SRO go out and work traffic during school hours?)
>suddenly realizes his gun isn't in his holster
>panics, can't think of where he might have left it
>goes back to the school and searches it top to bottom thinking he left it there
>another officer found it in the bathroom and held on to it all day to fuck with him while he searched the town and all the roads he patrolled

>second incident
>went to take a shit, removed gun from holster
>accidentally discharges it (it was a fucking Glock, HOW did this happen noone knows)
>it goes through the bathroom wall, ricochets off the floor in the next room, goes into the wall on the opposite side
>luckily there was a cinderblock wall separating the PD from the building connecter to it on that side, the bullet didn't pass through
>the building next door was a small local bank
>it was during business hours
>it was occupied at the time

He's now chief of that department because of the amount of town governmental ass he kissed.

This is why police work is a fucking joke profession.

She mis-spelled 'cunt'

posting the actual tweet right here

You are giving her way to much credit.
>it fires when you pull the trigger
Is nothing close to
>it gas a trigger safety

If you earnestly believe that she doesn't know that typical guns use triggers to fire, then you're unironically dumber than she is. Every noguns normalfaggot woman knows that pulling triggers is how you fire guns.

It's quite obvious that she's refering to the lack of external safety.

>which fires, if the trigger is pulled
oh no, we have to do something

>She's obviously aware that glocks have no selector safeties.
ok, didn't know that

Just there with a friendly granpa DA revolver... but the revolver isnt "assault-black plastic" and shit.

I’ve found that there are generally 4 reasons people work for a small town PD:
1) Competent officer found it was the only place that was hiring when they got certified and they haven’t found a better job.
2) They’re related to the mayor/councilman and it’s the only place that would even consider hiring them.
3) They were known for making a lot of good DUI stops and a city poached them from an SO. (City courts exist solely to raise revenue for the city. The best money in that is in reducing DUIs to reckless driving.)
4) They were fires from another department for stealing, getting caught lying about something work related, drug use, or using their position to fuck inmates/suspects.
Sheriffs deputies are usually alright, but small town police departments are basically the island of misfit cops.

It's also got +5 splash damage

My pp has +10 to splash damage. Thats why I unholster when I when I hit the porcelain throne. Also, I would prefer my carry to not come in contact with the piss and shit covered toilet.

DA revolvers aren't relevant to the story because cops don't carry them and none was left in the bathroom.

Face it, the journo thot used imprecise terminology that opened her up to easy ridicule, but she's still generally correct. And half the retards in this thread seem to have been previously unaware that glocks have no selector safety.

>3) They were known for making a lot of good DUI stops and a city poached them from an SO. (City courts exist solely to raise revenue for the city. The best money in that is in reducing DUIs to reckless driving.)
I don't get what you're trying to say here. They work for a small town PD because a city poached them? How does that make any sense? If a city poached them then they're working for a city, not a small PD.

Yes I do... average nongunz knowledge of firearms is pretty fucking ridiculous. Just think of the amount of normies who think all ar-15s shoot full auto. Most dont know how magizenes work, let alone safeties. You could just as easily interpret her post as pointing out that the gun is semi auto, or not a shotgun. You're giving her way too much credit.

Every noguns knows what a 'trigger' is and what it's for. You're deluding yourself if you think otherwise.

Guy you responded to. Meant to say "duty belt" not duty hell. Your examples are sad and hilarious at the same time.
