>"During the Kosovo War, I took an AK-47 Kalashnikov from a dead enemy soldier. We had booby-trapped a little shop in our village and when a group of enemy soldiers entered the building, they activated our device.
>We went to check out the place two days after the explosion and aside from ‘my’ Kalashnikov, we found another AK-47, a backpack, a watch and some other military gear.
>My standard rifle was an Austrian ‘Sturmgewehr 58’ which was quite big and heavy as it used the more powerful 7.62 X 51 mm NATO cartridge. Therefore, my ‘new’, smaller rifle made for an excellent secondary weapon. Luckily, our unit also used a lot of AK’s and therefore we had plenty of ammunition for it."
>When I fought in open terrain or in a defense position, I took the ‘Sturmgewehr’ with me as it was the more accurate weapon, but during night fighting, ambushes or in the forest, the AK proved to be superior.
>I was fighting in a guerrilla army and therefore didn’t even have to ask anyone whether I was ‘allowed’ to use my new weapon or not. In a more conventional army, however, you might get into trouble running around with an enemy’s weapon.
>Usually, after a few months in combat, many special operations forces and other fighting units with combat experience make their own rules regarding the use of enemy equipment.
>One of those rules is that as long as it doesn’t have a negative effect on your or your unit’s combat performance, you are free to do whatever you want."
Opposing Sides Using each Other's Weapons Throughout History
I recall reading that during the Falklands war the Brits liked to swipe the Argentine FALs because they had a full-auto capability whereas the British-issue L1A1s did not. They were otherwise nominally the same rifle, but having the option of going full retard was seen as a plus even if it wasn't particularly useful.
I mean how useful really if full auto on a 7.62 NATO rifle?
That shit would be beyond uncontrollable!
well if you can support it on something you still have an ad-hoc LMG, even if its a shitty one
Not if you're clearing a room. At those distances you'll still land all on a man sized target. It's nowhere near as bad as you think either.
Wehrmacht were known for making use of captured SVT-40s, especially in the campaigns in the Kuban and the Crimea, as well as PPSH-41s throughout the Eastern front. Don’t have any pics related on my phone unfortunately
Yep, most of the assaults were night attacks, without much night-fighting optics available to either side The Battle of Mount Tumbledown especially was done with fixed bayonets which saw some actual use as well.
It's not that bad. I expected it to be much worse than it really is.
Just treat it like every other gun and not a rifle.
Says the old dude wearing a wig and makeup.
>After the German Army captured large numbers of the PPSh-41 during World War II, a program was instituted to convert the weapon to the standard German submachine gun cartridge – 9×19mm Parabellum. The Wehrmacht officially adopted the converted PPSh-41 as the "MP41(r)"; unconverted PPSh-41s were designated "MP717(r)" and supplied with 7.63×25mm Mauser ammunition (which is dimensionally identical to 7.62×25mm Tokarev, but slightly less powerful). German-language manuals for the use of captured PPShs were printed and distributed in the Wehrmacht.[24] In addition to barrel replacement, converted PPSh-41s also had a magazine adapter installed, allowing them to use MP-40 magazines. The less powerful 9mm round generally reduces the cyclic rate of fire down to 800 to 750 RPM.
They were also big fans of the M1 Carbine.
During the First World War the Germans prized Lewis guns, even converting some to fire 8 x 57.
Captured MP 38 and MP 40s were used by British troops in the Second World War, particularly by sneaky-beaky types.
During the Gulf War it was an open secret that you'd grab an Iraqi AK when you could and leave your L85 or L86 in the Warrior when dismounting to clear trenches. Those in charge let it slide after the SA80 proved to be a big pile of shit during exercises before the ground invasion. The after-action report was hushed up and then leaked; luckily the Iraqis hardly put up a fight - there were people bricking themselves during the air bombardment knowing the complete failure the SA80 would be in actual combat.
Prince hairy pot head: "me and my divorced nigra wife are gonna raise our kid, gender fluid"
Who is the faggit here?
Prince Harry says ' negroid pussy, good as any".
I can sorta understand the oil drilling since Megan Markle (or whatever her name is) is an attractive mulatta/black woman ( he should have just married a white woman, had four kids with her then cheat on his wife with her. That way the royal bloodline stays pure and he gets some sweet COLONIZATION action). This made me realize he’s a fucking dolt , who has no purpose in life other than being atool for propaganda. I don’t know why any American gives a shit about these faggots
I doubt they swiped the rifles, explaining to the brass why you dropped your issued weapon in favour of an enemy weapon of unknown condition and maintenance is something any soldier with a brain knows is a bad idea. I think a couple of guys swapped out the full auto parts and kept the standard ones in their pack, the L1A1 was undoubtedly more useful in semi auto but having the option for magdumping is something a lot of soldiers can't resist
ii do not believe the parts are the same the Argentine FM FAL uses metric and the Brit is imperial i believe magazines are different If someone knows for sure correct me
brit L1A1s use inch pattern mags, argentines used metric mags. the inch mags have a big lug instead of the metric dimple, so metric mags will fit in an inch receiver, but not the other way around.
This sounds like bullshit.
The Germans used, and had official designations for, just about every firearm they captured.
Soviet, French, Czech, Polish, British, and American firearms were all officially used.
Oh and they converted Austrian designs too.
That's technically all of our faults
american civil war 1.0 and 2.0
