how is the T-14 superior to western tanks?
How is the T-14 superior to western tanks?
Superior Chinese pig steel folded over 2 times.
It is a stealth tank with great protection.
The only bad thing(s) about it is the cost and possibly reliability.
It isn’t?
yeah nah
If the T-14 actually realised all its purported specifications and was delivered in large numbers it would have some advantages. More powerful gun with ATGM capability, better crew protection, better ISTAR with UAV integration, greater strategic and operational mobility due to its lighter weight, a rudimentary low-level AA capability, hard kill APS as standard, and due to being part of a diverse family of vehicles based on the same hull it could streamline logistics.
It's just that in all likelihood Russia (with its current level of finance and technology) is unlikely to deliver on all its claims.
Better cannon.
Better protection.
Better crew survivability.
Targeting and recon drone.
It's superior in every way but it's not a game changer.
Russia decided to buy more T-72B3MLGBT1488XYZ rathern than spend any significant money on T-14. That should tell you all you need to know.
If you have any doubts, even armatard recently started making threads about
>T-90 is best tank in world
Think about it for a second. Even armatard gave up on T-14 in favour of old model.
It isn't, vatnik scum.
He hungers
It's probably on par with the SEPv3 and A7+ in most respects, probably superior in crew armor and integration of APS directly into the vehicle. It'll be outmatched the second the NGCV and MGCS roll off the production lines though, and that's assuming that they get procured in non-meme numbers.
It's not produced in meaningful numbers.
However, as says, T72LGBQT and T90PEDO duo is cheap and capable to bully neighborhood.
For fuck sakes russia you went from making aesthetically ugly tanks like the t72 t80 and t90 to just flat out ugly tanks like the t14
They're didn't buy any more T-72/-90's. They're hauling in old ones from storage and upgrading them, just as the US Army does with its M1 chassis.
And T-14 isn't dead, it's just been heavily delayed by the 30% military budget reductions Putin did in 2016 when oil prices crashed, same thing with the Navy and Airforce upgrades.
>In August 2018, at the ARMY2018 Forum outside Moscow, the Russian Ministry of Defense signed a contract for the purchase of 32 T-14s tanks and 100 T-15 infantry fighting vehicles, with delivery to be finished by 2021.[84]
Unlike back in 2014 where they were saying they'd have 100+ delivered by 2020. They're still planning to replace the armoured fleet with the Universal Combat Platform, but planning needs money.
*** kinda.. The turrets on the updated T-72/-90 are new welded ones, not the old cast domes.
Those memes are so retarded yet so funny. Who even makes them? reddit?
t. triggered vatnik
Those are from Krautchan, they got fed up with seeing their original creation (polandball meme) being used unironically for propaganda by Russia in an polished (pun intended) photoshop look and then they started editing those russian propaganda polandball comics. Rape polandball is one of those outcomes.
How new are You?
How about T-80BMWADIDAS, are these also taken from deep storage or used goods upgraded?
Can someone explain this whole Russia getting raped by Poland that has something to do with tigers? I'm hella confused
its a shitty russian propaganda comic that people make fun of by editing them, the tiger one was because one comic bosted that russia has everything, even tigers.
It's from 90s, when Western tanks are from 80s.
Who’s the nigger supposed to be, Africa?
It is invincible by not existing on this plane of reality.
my favorite part about the T-72B3MLGBT1488XYZ is that it is using French in particular, but mostly European m,ade optics and other parts to upgrade. Meanwhile those countries supplying the parts to upgrade the T-72B3MLGBT1488XYZ's continue to pretend to be anti-Russian.
I'm guessing they want to sell us on the idea that the wets is enslaved by a vast conspiracy, led by Monster Energy Drinks.
russia did it to itself
they tried to use that poland ball meme to make russia look good with a smug russia-ball
backfired really hard
>other parts to upgrade
I knew about the optics but what other European parts are there?
>T-72B3MLGBT1488XYZ
LMAO
?? I thought it used Belarus made copy of said French optics
>The French firm started selling its systems to Russian arms-maker Rosoboronexport, which works hand-in-hand with Uralvagonzavod, in 2007.

>Western tank gets hit in turret by autocannon
>Plink
>T-14 gets hit in turret by autocannon
>Out of action
It's caused more directly tangible damage to Russia than any operational western tank has just by spreading their budget too thin
The Armata is a pile of garbage.
The only really relevant ammo in tank vs tank engagements is APFSDS. Not only does it provide superior performance on impact compared to HEAT (no matter if gun fired or ATGM) but also it is way more difficult to affect it with hardkill systems, and due to the higher velocity the hit probability is much higher. If your projectile only flies 3 seconds instead of 5 seconds, your target has less time to move. Accuracy on modern APFSDS is excellent, too.
So, APFSDS is the choice. To make APFSDS more effective, it historically grew longer and longer.
Why did the projectiles grew longer? Because projectile length is basically your penetration depth.
Here is a calculator to toy around with values: longrods.ch
Now, russians invented autoloaders for their tanks and fielded them in every model way before people knew that. Back when "DM13" ammo was barely invented. So the russians went with 2 piece ammo, projectile and powder charge are stacked ontop of each other. But then you can't build long APFSDS penetrators which stick into your powder charge like the west does, now can you?
Since the Armata still uses the same canon design with the same autoloader as all the other russian designs, it isn't capable to penetrate a modern western tank.
Russian tank engines have generally been underpowered and unreliable, russia does not have the capability to make thermal imagers, hence why only every 10th T-90 used to have one.
Russia at this point doesn't have the money to make a good tank it seems, so they're producing hot garbage out of old bits.
Pro-tip: Use English in your propaganda pictures, your target audience cant read Russian.
Pro-tip: Remove the sunglasses and put an ushanka on the countryball. Sunglasses are associated with America when it comes to countryballs. Also, change the Soyuz into an ICBM and replace the tiger with a bear.
You fucks cannot even into propaganda right.
Unmanned turrets aren't even new, South Africa developed one for Jordan in the early 2000s for their tanks.
military-today.com
Pro-tip: fuck off you fucking spastic there are tigers in russia
Crew is encapsulated in the hull in a climate controlled non-segmented box about 1x2x2m.
>Pro-tip: Use English in your propaganda pictures, your target audience cant read Russian.
Those one are actually the ones that got printed in russian magazines.
There are probably more tigers in Zoos in the US than there are in the wild in Russia
There is a new autoloader coming slowly.
But you have a point with the sabot length. Ideally sabot should be carried separately high in the hull and horizontal, since it is non-explosive, even kind of an armor itself. Armata haven't got that far yet.
The propellant however is low in the hull and protected. So, two part autoloader but with stacked penetrators feeding from turret sides or roof, slotting into propellant hull/shoe cases fed from the floor. When penetrators get to be >1m long this is going to be a requirement. Another advantage of breaking out the penetrators is HE can stay in the bottom part of the loader ( since its compact and shaped like the shoe).
No, FOR FUCK SHAKE K SUCKS.
T-72 B 3 MOD2016 got CAST armour turret. Only the the T-90A got welded turret. RETARD !@!!
Jow Forums KNOW
shit about tanks, only fanboys.../
Friendly reminder that RUSSIA has 4 types of MAIN BATTLE TANKS in service.
based Schizo poster
There are more captive tigers in the US than wild tigers in the entire world.
We have 10X the number in captivity as Russia does in the wild.
That's actually kindof sad.
>There is a new autoloader coming slowly.
Doesn't fix the issue. In fact, it is ammo compatible with existing older ammo. So identical sabot length limits.
>But you have a point with the sabot length.
Ofc. Every single russian tank is outright incapable of defeating duell armor on any western tank.
You need to get the powder around the sabot or your guns chamber extends by 2 feet.
KE penetrators are inert, so actually quite harmless, so the idea is good. But due to length and the powder issues, impossible to execute. And then you might also want some HE/HEAT.
>When penetrators get to be >1m long this is going to be a requirement. Another advantage of breaking out the penetrators is HE can stay in the bottom part of the loader ( since its compact and shaped like the shoe).
Doubts. Look at the 140mm prototype guns from the 80's and the current 130mm Rheinmetall is developing. Since Rheinmetall and Nexter now cooperate on the new Leopard 3, they already put a Leclerc turret on a Leopard 2 chassis (look up current Eurosatory), and i am very certain they'll handle the 130mm ammo (which is hillariously huge) with a linear style autoloader just like the leclerc has, with all the ammo in the turret rear with the worlds largest blow out panels.
you can UBER it?
>need to get the powder around the sabot or your guns chamber extends by 2 feet.
At the moment bulk of the penetrator is behind the shoe. With a two-part round the shoe can be nearer the back or the middle of the penetrator, which will allow it to poke up the barrel, not affecting the length of chamber. Plus the powder goes back to having a sane volume efficiency.
As a human I do not understand your orcish "language" written nor spoken.
Its funny that if you look at Russian Weapons Tech I highly fucking doubt that Russian APFSDS rounds are any good, I don't think that they can even get through ERA.
At the Time that Russia started testing said rounds a few years later they started to work on Barrel launched missiles with tandem warheads for main purpose of getting through ERA. Why would you spend the money making a Missile that Costs a whole hell of a a lot more to produce then it does a Dart, unless you're Darts cant go through ERA plates.
>Doesn't fix the issue. In fact, it is ammo compatible with existing older ammo. So identical sabot length limits.
Beeing backwards compatible does not mean it cant accept new designs.
That said, western autoloaders is the hot shit and I have no clue why the slavs still jerk off to the idea of a complicated hull mounted autoloader...
No France?
The japanese use giant enema-syringe bullets?
Because they made it work dude. It fails very rarely.
About Armata, yeah it's good. It's also interesting to see how Russians totally abandoned Soviet style. It emphasizes survivability of the crew, communications, sensors, crew comfort.
Long range engagement perhaps?
Their missiles can also be used against low flying helicopters.
What the fuck?
Also, to the guy above, Armata does have a new autoloader (Vacuum-1 is 900mm) and Russians can make thermal sights. They caught up.
I don't understand why everyone presumes that just because Russians bullshit a lot they can't make anything. Armata, on paper, looks excellent.
Main question is how many can they buy. Their finances aren't good right now.
A resonable adult entered the conversation. I am by no means pro-russian (nor do I say that anything Russian mustbe shit just because)
The T-14 seems good, without knowing things only time will tell like reliability and other things that usually only surface after years of use. That being said it's impact is mostly a propaganda one, unless Russia suddenly decides to buy a lot more of them. The bulk of Russia's tanks are still upgraded T-72s and and a portion of T-90s
I am glad to witness Moscow finally catching up with '70 era discarded prototypes
Exactly.
Real life performance and numbers deployed are things we'll find about in a few years. Until then, it's pointless to discuss this shit.
*find out about
I am glad American and Western posters on Jow Forums are highly intelligent and educated persons who know that the best way to analyze a potential threat is to disparage it, make wild claims, rely on stereotypes and generally imply your own intrinsic superiority under all conditions.
History taught us that being arrogant is the recipe for winning!
After all, our potential opponents are (barely) people who will absolutely never adapt or do anything to defend themselves. They'll just do stuff we imagined where we imagined it and it will be a turkey shoot!
Fuck all the experts warning us about the growing capability of Russians, Chinese, Iranians, what the fuck do these VATNIK RETARDS know???
>I am glad to witness Washington finally catching up with 'Late WW2 era German discarded prototypes
You seem mad. Or baiting.
How could a country made English bitch hundreds years ago and mercilessly exploited ever since pose a threat? The sole reason for existence of Moscow tsradom is to keep pressure on them pesky Eurolanders, ya daft cunt. If Euros stop buying Lockheed planes, then someday Moscow may get permission to flex a muscle over the English channel, but no further.
And Chinese will be starved if they start kicking above their weight.
The japanese like Thomas the Tank-Engine.
>Dialogue in RIngo Starr's voice
How am I supposed to fap to this?
If you can't fap to ringo starr talking dirty then you don't deserve to fap.

Ha, Mutt and Bong nukes are the rusty, busted and the worst.
Isn't that big optics "hole" in the turret a huge weakpoint?
Jack Northrop invented the flying wing way before germany, and the Go229 wasn't stealth. Sorry that you're butthurt about Jow Forums poking fun at your favorite petrostate.

>Also, to the guy above, Armata does have a new autoloader (Vacuum-1 is 900mm)
There isn't a single fucking source on that anywhere to be found. Not even a single fucking picture. Do you have any?
>and Russians can make thermal sights. They caught up.
Why they still buying in france then?
euobserver.com
>I don't understand why everyone presumes that just because Russians bullshit a lot they can't make anything.
I don't presume. I know.
>Main question is how many can they buy. Their finances aren't good right now.
Buy what? Prototypes? There is no money to develop anything to a degree that it would be fit for serial production and fielding.
The gun is a prototype, the engine was unreliable before the performance was increased (thrice!) and still is, the ammo can't pen any western tank, the thermal imaging and fire control from france is probably embargoed at this point ..
All they can do is drive around the prototypes on parades and keep the company alive with a bit of pocket money for a new prototype next year.
>A resonable adult entered the conversation.
Making uninformed unsubstanciated claims?
>The T-14 seems good, without knowing things
Yeah, T-14, for which we have zero data except some russian propaganda, seems good. But Leopard 2 is a heap of junk because some turks parked an 1970's A4 on a hill for a couple of hours until some goatherders managed to shoot an ATGM into this elusive target.
2/2
Russia has impressive weapon systems, the T-14 isn't one of them. It is a prototype with a neat concept which is betrayed by the inability of the russian industry to develop proper components for its implementation. It is obvious that the entire T-14 program suffers from a massive lack of funding, otherwise they would have done a lot differently, like:
- Developed a new engine, the X designs are famously underpowdered and unreliable, and now they squeezed even more power out of it (supposedly) which ofc does not help reliability
- They would have developed an entirely new gun in a new caliber to overmatch western tank armor like rheinmetall is doing with the 130mm right now, this is a criticism that is even openly raised inside of russia
- They would have build an autoloader similar to the Leclerc type with single piece ammunition, not the current two piece affair for reasons explained above to actually be able to pen western tanks
- I honestly do not see how the T-14 has an actually working hardkill system, there are no suitable effectors visible on the vehicle, and the turret is unarmored, which means it is probably a mission killed even by a 20mm autocannon
Russia is continuing with the shit they have left over from the soviet union times. Back in those days, they had no company with any expertise in thermal imaging. They still don't. They can make hypersonic missiles because they got missile experts, aerodynamic experts and metallurgy/ceramics experts to design that shit, sure, but they have nobody that knows jack about thermal imaging. And since they don't have money for barly anything, you won't see revolutionary designs or anything truely new. You will only see small evolutionary developments which keep the capabilities of the design bureaus alive with as little money as possible, trying to get cooperations with other countries and export customers.
Russia doesn't do Big-5 tier modernization. I mean look at the Ratnik system, they supply that shit in modules, they don't outfit their infantry with the complete package. Most likely they'll end up gradually adding new stuff and swap to a newer generation well before they're even half-way done.

That's low profile turret, not unmanned turret. Learn the difference, you dumb fuck.

The SU has been developing the concept since mid 70s, retarded nigger.
If you even interpreted that post as even insinuating that claim I'm sorry but, you are a complete utter cretin
How does it feel being so ineducable you get wrecked by your own link you posted trying to meme like a dumb fucking nigger that you are?
>According to Simon Sebag-Montefiore, Potemkin's most comprehensive English-language biographer, the tale of elaborate, fake settlements with glowing fires designed to comfort the monarch and her entourage as they surveyed the barren territory at night, is largely fictional
>Aleksandr Panchenko, an established specialist on 19th-century Russia, used original correspondence and memoirs to conclude that the Potemkin villages are a myth. He writes: "Based on the above said we must conclude that the myth of 'Potemkin villages' is exactly a myth, and not an established fact."[6] He writes that "Potyomkin indeed decorated existing cities and villages, but made no secret that this was a decoration".[7]
>Although "Potemkin village" has come to mean, especially in a political context, any hollow or false construct, physical or figurative, meant to hide an undesirable or potentially damaging situation,[9] it is possible that the phrase cannot be applied accurately to its own original historical inspiration.

>You're trying to insinuate that the difference between the M1TTB and the Armata is just as great as the difference between the GO229 and B-2, and that the idea has always been good but the implementation is worlds different.
And surely nobody would be that retarded, right? I'll give you the benefit of the doubt here.
>The sole reason for existence of Moscow tsradom is to keep pressure on them pesky Eurolanders
This is kind of true actually. I'm old enough to remember how Russia was borderline disintegrating throughout the 90s and how the Anglosphere (chiefly America and Britain) did everything they could to keep that from happening for the reason you just mentioned.
nice models.....is it 1/64?. what brand?
