LOL the only thing that most cops know how to kill is a dozen frosted from Dunkin Donuts. I put in more range time in an average summer month than most cops do in five years. I’m not even claiming to be some kind of badass operator or anything, it’s just that 1) I enjoy shooting and 2) most cops literally spend a couple hours a year at the range qualifying with their weapons and don’t ever go shooting outside of that. Making your average cop out to be some kind of asskicking killer just shows that you don’t spend any time around them and don’t know anything about them.

Shooting at a range isn't great preparation for a gunfight, much less one where you are outnumbered. You're kidding yourself if you think they won't have SWAT assisting with this sort of thing, with the possibility of the NG as well if resistance is commonplace. Regardless, the average cop, and certainly those which are ex-military, is vastly more prepared for the fight than a civilian is.
