What bothers me is that this was supposed to be some sort of incidenary/flare rifle but Valve for some reason made a last second decision, scrapped it, took the model and slapped it onto the AR2 instead, which in turn was supposed to be a XM29 OICW, they didn’t want to ditch the grenade launcher mechanic though and just slapped it onto the MP7 which makes no sense At all.
Also the SMG was supposed to be a beautiful MP5K (as seen in the beta) but Valve completely scrapped it. So many stupid decisions were made and so much great stuff was cut from Half-Life 2, it’s a real shame.

Type-7 Particle Weapon from FEAR 1 was very satisfying to use. Sexy look, great sound, lovely impact. I liked it more than the HV Penetrator for sure.

The shotgun from Half-Life 1 felt like it had the perfect amount of punch, and in retrospect it's hilarious that it could fire two shells at the same time, but again it still has a great feel and impact.

Pic related was hilarious to use in Bionic Commando 2009. Monsterous damage at short range, extremely fun to use in multiplayer in conjunction with the essential arm swinging. Shame the online matchmaker was atrociously bad and that the company went bankrupt, because it was the most fun I've had in an online game when the multiplayer did work.

Way way too much of that. Raven hill traps and the slight freedom of the canal and car as well as the fun ant lions couldn’t make up for awful repetitive set pieces that had no place in a sequel to a game that despite being linear was all about letting you tackle problems at your own pace.

Something they changed out (I think) from the previous games in Shadowfall was that the reload didn't involve lifting a top cover. Which is a tad fucky since I always figured the magazine made more sense if you thought of the entire gun as being a bullpup LMG with a big old belt in that round mag drum lookin thing. certainly more sense than if there's supposed to be a spring and follower in it. it's clear. there isn't one.

No I’m pretty sure it works. If you look at the reload animation for the G2, the bolt is locked open after the last shot is fired. And the animation shows the bolt is open when she puts the cartridge in.
