Piece of obsolete impractical shit
good for generals, since it allowed them to field a very large amount of automatic weapons on short notice
less than ideal for soldiers, since it was very crude and uncomfortable
however, many of them appreciated it because it gave them automatic firepower at a time when they didnt have many options , despite its many flaws
it also had a suppressed variant that actually worked very well
An excellent choice if your country has spent the last 20 years willfully ignorant of the storm clouds forming 400 miles to your east, and now find yourself under equipped, totally cash strapped and in dire need of a mass issued automatic weapon. As a gun viewed on its own merits, its a phenomenal piece of shit.
You can get a Sten parts set from Sarco for a couple hundred bucks. There's an outfit in Florida that with sell a receiver tube with all the cut-outs marked for another $50. The really tough part is welding the ejector inside the receiver tube. There are plenty of mags available, but the price is climbing on them. While it's not a pretty firearm-- the cost of production in the 1940's was less than $3-- a well made Sten will shoot a bunch of bullets in the general direction that it's pointed at.
>your country has spent the last 20 years supplying Soviet ambitions with long time goal to create orwellian dystopia, where tight cast of self appointed rulers overseers countless crowd of proletariat

I’d rather have a kolibri
Absolute fucking garbage, if they were going to make a simpler copy of the Lanchester, so be it, but what were they thinking with the grips, especially on the early ones?
Welding a piece of steel to the frame is cheap?
Are these actually non firing, or "non firing"

Its denix, so potmetal and definitely non firing. You can cock and dryfire it though, as i recall from when I had one like 15 years ago.
I'll just need to find the CAD file for a sten again...
Why not just download the Professor Parabellum plans?

Ugly and unreliable, one of the last WWII guns I'd ever buy.
On the other side, it would be a cool thing to make one for urban guerilla. Or for Milano Bandits fun.

Sten is ugly. Get a greaser instead.
Why would anyone want to buy a greaser? Except for Dirty Dozen fans, they have their reasons
So why did the Brits thinks it's best that the mag is on the side instead of having it pointed downwards like what Nazi Germany did when they copied the design at the end of the war?
>Except for Dirty Dozen fans
*the dirty dozen fan
Because task was to simplify MP28, nothing more. Germans and Armija Krajowa decided to make their mags in a more common way, probably to make magazines feed well.
They are easy to make full auto out of parts kits because they are barely a step above a pipe gun. Other than that nah they blow
although its an obsolete piece of shit tube gun, it looks like a pretty cute gun to cuddle at night.
Imagine how many a disgruntled machinist could make in a year, maybe he could save Europe or at least France at this point.
>maybe he could save Europe or at least France at this point.
He would have to pump out ammo as well. 9x19 is behind 2 layers of gun control
these were stens
I would love to build one of these actually. But i dont have the tools or knowledge. Ill wait for my bro to move back out here and hell make it for me

Get a dremel and a $100 spot welder from harbor freight. That's all you need.
