Why would you want to put 308 in a di system?

Because shooting in a hobby and almost everyone already has an AR-15 so they want something on a different platform to fullfill their need for variety and autistic larping with a Cold War era rifle.

For much they sell for, their is no reason you should spend the extra $200 and get the PTR. That aside, they are century built spanish cetme parts kits and they function just fine, sometimes the firing pin needs replacing and has worse accuracy than any other battle rifl. The finish and overall apperance of the rifle is real ugly though, basic parkerization with a lot of noticeable weld marks(plus ugly AF pictany rail imo) and a polymer lower.

The G3 is an outdated platform. An AR10 is going to be more accurate, cheaper, and lighter.
The only reason to get a G3 type rifle is for aesthetic reasons so get whatever the fuck you want.

They did this for the older HK91 clones back in the 90s and early 2000s. This run Seema to be pretty uniform in quality, as the parts are original Cetme, and the receiver and barrel is PTR.

AR 10s are garbage, unreliable, boring, parts are a cluster ack of incompatibility and they beat themselves to death in no time at all. Durability is shit with ar-10s hence why no serious military unit fields them in 2019.

The C308 is literally their old CETME sporter just with a slightly lower likelihood of being a hack job. Basically 30-40% chance compared to the previous 50% chance.

Just spend a bit more and get a PTR. If you want to be extra poor about it, you can the baseline GI model for even less on the used market for just slightly over what the C308 costs new, typically with a decent number of mags and barey shot.

Tons of poorfags buy them because it’s an affordable way into battle rifles when it comes to the gun itself, but realize after that they can’t afford to feed it even though cheaper steel is fine for them. Then they sale them for $100-$200 less when they realize they’re not getting what they paid for it back after its up for a few weeks.

These people aren't really answering your question fully. Yes, century has spotty history of QC. Yes, they grind bolt heads. No, none of that is ok. I have a c308 because it was less than 500 and I knew the CETME specs and can work on them. A g/vg bolt head assembly and locking piece are easy to come by, not expensive. Know the proper specs and how to take the measurements and you're fine.

That being said, buy the ptr. It's an all-new rifle made to hk91 specs, not a cobbled together surplus parts kit you may need to tinker with. You have access to all new pieces and don't have to rely on a fluctuating market of variable condition surplus parts. Don't get the idea that you can just swap any part you want, either. There's not as much interchangeability as you'd think.

Buy something, though. Great rifles that eat whatever shit you feed them.

Yes, I would agree. That's why I said I tend to believe this run is actually pretty good. The examples I have seen have nice welds and are otherwise nicely done.
