Why don't you have an RMR on your carry gun, user? I had been frustrated that I'd plateaued in my handgun shooting skills for years. Finally put an RMR on my carry gun and 300 rounds later I've went from barely able to run a dot torture at 3 yards to running them flawlessly at 7. I'm so surprised that a 450 dollar upgrade has done more for my shooting more than years of constantly cycling through carry guns trying to find one that I shoot better than the other.
How has it drastically improved my skills? Threat focusing. Now I can focus on where I want my shots to go, follow through without breaking my sight picture, and actually see where my shots land on paper real time. It also forces you to become steadier in your aim and trigger press. Every little movement that you'd normally not see with irons is exacerbated. You can literally see how your trigger press is affecting your point of aim as you're pressing it. You can see real time if you've jerked the trigger or anticipated the recoil breaking the shot. It's wonderful for dry fire practice.
It does have its drawbacks. You have to have nearly perfect sight alignment to see to the dot, and a perfect grip to see that dot again after the recoil impulse. But, that's also a benefit because it forces you to perfect your mechanics.
Can you breathe without an RMR? Sure, but I wouldn't recommend it.
I have an RMR on my FNX45T with a silencerco octane 45. It's neat, but on a carry gun I don't need it and irons are just as fast if not faster for me. I don't know how bad you were at shooting before but maybe you should go back and try using irons again and see if your shooting has improved.
Sebastian Perez
Irons are faster, and I have irons co witnessed for that very purpose. I still bring the irons into alignment as I draw. I wasn't bad at all before. However, now I'm shooting quarter sized groups at 10 yards. Before it was nearly impossible to tell if my sight alignment was a hair off, if I was jerking the trigger, anticipating the shot, etc.
In reality, I wasn't. I had reached the point of diminishing returns on irons. At least for my eyes. In a defensive shooting I can still utilize point shooting or a flash sight picture to pop accurate enough shots off quickly. There's just something to be said about stacking round after round in nearly the same hole at 35 feet with a handgun off hand. I finally feel like I could engage an active shooter with full confidence.
Am I gonna throw my J frame away? Nah. It does what it's intended to do.

>gets ratfucked instantly by rain I can understand it in your case though. Probably never go outside in rain because it ruins your hair and makes your makeup run.
I have one, that picture is a great example of the little blue as fuck window. Ive also had my rmr randomly turn off a few times but its a gen 1 RMR. Its the only good way to passively aim a handgun with night vision though. Im hoping the new aimpoint handgun dot will be better.
Evan Brown
That’s hilarious lmao. I live in Portland where it rains half the fucking year, good to know that, not that my cheap ass would spend the money on sights for a carry gun, which I don’t have and I don’t plan on starting to carry anytime soon lmao.
Isaac Roberts
I carry my handgun in my waistband where it's not getting rained on. If it was, my irons are co witnessed.
Leo Walker
I'm looking forward to the ACRO as well, but the RMR has been awesome for me so far.
Also I live in Denver. Doesn't really rain here.

post reckless driving
Xavier Phillips
I trust you because you have good taste in handguns.
Colton Garcia
I had a gucci glock with an RMR as my carry gun for a year. I loved it, but the early Tri RMR's were very finicky. There was a battery connection issue (at least on the one I had). I was also worried about my carry gun being stolen by Tyrone all the time.
Bentley Cox
RMRs are nice, but there's no need to wank that hard over them.
>I had been frustrated that I'd plateaued in my handgun shooting skills for years. Anybody with a lick of common sense stopped taking you seriously right here.
Adrian Baker
How do I get a mount for my USP? I can't find one
Brandon Ross
>Putting a $500 sight on a carry pistol so you never get it back if you actually have to use it
Dumb as fuck, cunt. Also, you're baiting with this entire thread so consider my reply a courtesy.
Ryder Jackson
You two are brainlets. >Bible basher >someone who tries in a forceful or enthusiastic way to persuade other people to believe in the Christian religion and the Bible I was saying that trijicon can go fuck themselves for being jesus freaks.
Camden Cruz
Ive run RMRs on handguns and rifles for a while now, and prefer to shoot in the rain/snow so i can have the place to myself. I've literally had that happen exactly one time out of at least several dozen occasions. I wouldn't really worry about it for an IWB firearm.
Julian Scott
Well, that's a stupid term then. Gay bashers aren't gay people who try to turn others gay.
Kevin Miller
Fellow Oregon fag can you please walk in front of a bus
Ayden Torres
>Bible basher Honestly i thought you were full of shit til i googled that. i guess it makes sense if you imagine them bashing other people with the bible, but its weird af that the meaning is the opposite of any other *whatever* basher phrase
I mean you might lose a few brain cells, but if that's what you want then do it
Elijah Bennett
It's awesome
The Tac doesn't cost much more than the basic, if you're never gonna use a dot or suppressor they don't matter but if you might even wanna possibly consider a dot in the future get the tac
Aimpoint said every optic ready pistol on the market is getting a mounting plate and that they have over a dozen done and ready to be shipped when the acro releases. They're gonna be mounting in the RMR holes anyways so anyone whose gun gets dicked over can just use the plate from another gun and mod it since the mounting holes are the same on every gun
impressive group on that second target. was just thinking how I'm trying to get good with my G19 but it seems fucking pointless with how dog shit the trigger is compared to any DA/SA out there.
Christopher Young
Really I care more about the suppressor height sights, but for seems fun. Thanks for convincing me to waste more money kek. Do you think it's too large? I have medium sized hands but I tend to like larger pistols. How would you compare it to a Hi Power or a 92fs? Also, FWIW I intend on using it as a winter carry gun because memes. Think that's viable at all?
Justin White
Who is a bible bashing faggot? Story?
Nolan Perry
I was surprised myself when I saw the targets since I walked in like "I should totally try CAR like a jackass" I've tried striker guns but I prefer my DA/SA, although lots of people love their striker guns Do LOTS of dryfire practice, your form will compensate for your equipment 99% of the time, not the other way around
With the flat backstrap it's my favorite handgun to hold with gloves hands and you can see I'm a thinboi
How is inscribing biblical verses in your optics bible bashing? It's incredibly based and Christ pilled. I love trijicon now.
Gavin Sanchez
Trijicon confirmed for one and only top tier anti spoop optic
Elijah Flores
This just makes me want to buy more of their products. I love God. Christ is my savior.
Colton Rivera
Because 1. I dont need it to crack targets 2. It costs nearly $700, not bashing on the price for the sake of expense rather i would just but another gun 3. In most states you use your firarm for defense, you lose it, not spending $700 on top of what i already payed for a target gun and i sure as hell aint gunna throw away $700 hitting jose or Jaquin from 5-20 feet away.
Joseph Murphy
>700 Wrong >you lose it Wrong
Colton Lopez
>1. I dont need it to crack targets post groups 2. It costs nearly $700, not bashing on the price for the sake of expense rather i would just but another gun $450 on a bad day >3. How are you so poor that you're more worried about losing a firearm than your life?
Carson Jackson
Hell, im not even religious and i can't see being bothered by that unless you go through life with your panties pulled up around your ears.
Matthew Anderson
You where off on .3 Paying $400-500 on a glock is whatever. then paying to have the slide milled and fitted for a rmr costs atleast $700. Id sleep better knowing i lost $400 then $1,300 And ill bet your not hitting sombody at 20+ yards where itll be of usefull, and groupings in a realistic scenerio could be inches apart and still be just as good as cm's or less in center mass point blank. They are fun, i just dont really need one and in terms of wants id rather want a new gun for the price i pay or ammo i can spend getting good with the stock sights i already have.
Isaac Roberts
In most states you lose your firearm no matter what. Its going to be either. A.) Collecting dust or destroyed in evidence storage (destroyed in a communist state) Or B.) Sold off in a auction or collecting dust in a evidence storage
Hudson Young
It's entirely dependent on multiple things I had a friend whose gun was taken as evidence and they were begging him to come and retrieve it
David Sullivan
You're mildly illiterate. I'm surprised you found this chan to begin with. >Paying $400-500 on a glock is whatever. then paying to have the slide milled and fitted for a rmr costs atleast $700. Id sleep better knowing i lost $400 then $1,300 I paid 500 for my gen 5 17 mos, $450 for the RMR type 2, and $50 for amerligo suppressor height sights. I've got 1000 into the setup, but I could easily make 80-90% back if I were to sell it used. >And ill bet your not hitting sombody at 20+ yards where itll be of usefull, and groupings in a realistic scenerio could be inches apart and still be just as good as cm's or less in center mass point blank. It's pretty easy to miss a vital organ, and even easier if you're engaging an active shooter with a rifle from distance. Shot placement is king in self defense shootings. >They are fun, i just dont really need one and in terms of wants id rather want a new gun for the price i pay or ammo i can spend getting good with the stock sights i already have. You can buy all the new guns you want and all the ammo you want but you won't progress past a certain point when you've outgrown your irons. >In most states you lose your firearm no matter what. Its going to be either. A.) Collecting dust or destroyed in evidence storage (destroyed in a communist state) Or B.) Sold off in a auction or collecting dust in a evidence storage I'm hesitant to believe that I would lose my firearm in a justified self defense shooting, but even then I'm not worried about losing a tool no matter the cost of the tool. It's there to do one thing. Protect my life, and protect the lives of others. I can buy more tools. I can't buy another life. I honestly couldn't give a shit less if cops took my handgun and sold it at auction. I'd buy another one the next day. Keep thinking all you need is 3 rounds at 3 yards. I'm not that naive.
Sebastian Rivera
> In most states you use your firarm for defense, you lose it, not spending $700 on top of what i already payed for a target gun and i sure as hell aint gunna throw away $700 hitting jose or Jaquin from 5-20 feet away. the fucking state of poorfags on this board. We're talking about firing in anger in a self defense scenario, literally a once in a lifetime life or death situation, and you're worried about losing what is essentially the monetary equivalent of working a double shift or two. If im at the point where im actually shooting because I think that I or someone else might die if I my gunfire isnt effective I want every little reasonable advantage I can get.
>might die if I my gunfire might die if my gunfire*
Grayson Perez
I'll put it this way. I shot live fire 100 rounds with a MantisX on my handgun today, and I scored somewhere between an 85-92 on average. That's about as good as I can do with a stock Glock trigger. It always gives me the same results. I'm tightening my fingers. I'm slapping the trigger. I'm breaking my wrist up or down. I'm doing none of those things. It's just incredibly difficult to get a perfect break from a stock Glock trigger. You look at guys like John from active self protection and he's in the 40-50's on live fire with the mantis and has to do controlled breathing exercises to get into the 90's dry fire. Even when the thing is telling me I'm in the 70's I'm stilll stacking rounds on top of each other at 10 yards. I'm going to sell it. I don't know what I'm on about but I don't like diminishing returns.
Dominic Phillips
Carrying 24/7 is a pain in the ass as is, last thing I want is to make the gun more bulky.
Gabriel Cruz
If you're aiming for vital organs you're an idiot. Every competent shooting program recommends aiming for center of mass. The real advantage of an RMR is the increased speed and accuracy of followup shots. also if you are willing to pay more and put more work into concealing to have a better chance you should be wearing a vest or preferably a kevlar jacket, its a lot more likely to save your life.
Xavier Smith
I've heard "Bible thumper" but not "Bible basher".
