There is almost no noticeable increase in FPS between a 16 and 20 barrel, just look at the barrel test videos on YouTube

I used to be in the school of thought that more barrel>more handguard but now I want more real estate to balance out the weight for my flashlight, fake-15, VFG.

Is there a rule regarding handguards and muzzle brakes? Like how far out can I go with the handguard without it being a danger to the muzzle and with pic related happening

Don't use keymod, use a handguard shorter than your barrel, and if you can't do that, use a linear compensator.

The duct tape on the optic holds my dyi killflash on, the tape on the MIAD helps hold it together just in case it breaks, and the tape on the rail is for back up tape.
