The UAE are clinching to their 2000-9 as much as they can. Still the most capable fighter of their inventory dynamically speaking. Minus the RDY2 radar compared to the APG80 of their F-16s block 60.
Taïwan spoke about selling their 2000-5 over maintenance problems which turned out being bullshit (don't disassemble things that aren't supposed to be maggots!) finally they're not going anywhere.
Same for Greece. Which is broke as fuck anyway, so... :(
Indians are finally are upgrading their Cs to the -5mk2 standard, respectively H to I in the local designation. Seems they're still using them to bomb pakis, as seen a few days ago. Upgrading takes much more time than needed because HAL are litteral monkeys though.
Egypt didn't upgrade their old Mirage 2000 C, but bought the Rafale.
Where you are being right is when we take into acount the 55 french Mirage 2000D which are being upgraded (pic related) with Mica IR, new pod, gun pod, new lightweight low cost laser guided bombs and many other things. Sadly no RDY3 radar. YES indeed they will serve as "the new Mirage F1" in Africa mainly to bomb the shit out of rebels while keeping very good capabilities at being bomb trucks when air superiority isn't challenged
The 30 or so french Mirage 2000-5 left aren't going anywhere either until 2025 I think. A few years to live on.
Closing the 2000 line in 2006 was done to let the Rafale finally take the spot it should have taken 10 years prior, but the jet still has potential just like the F-16.

It's engine was finicky as hell and even if it was better than the mirage 3 in most ways exept for a 3000 km lower ceiling it wasn't enough to justify paying 1,7 million more per unit

So, countries look at it, see how it kicks ass, and then bail out when they see the price tag, and go buy F-16s or Sukhois.
