Slide on my VP9SK if I shake the gun, moves close to half an inch front to back. Not enough to chamber or eject the round in it, but enough to worry me seeing as the 4 other pistols I own don’t do this at all, or move very slightly.

Do I just buy another recoil spring and carry my G26 for now? Or am I being OCD.

For the record the gun shoots alright, never had an issue with it at the range.

Can anybody recommend a good appendix carry holster for a ruger lc9? Also good extra mag holsters.

CCC Shaggy, Dara w/claw, can't help with mag holsters as I don't use them

Is a HK P30 LEM a decent first gun purchase?
Is LEM not a good option for a noob, security wise?

It's an ok gun, I think the LEM sucks but some folks like it.

Firs time CC'er reposting from last thread. I was considering the Beretta PX4 Storm Compact 9mm and it looks like I'll consider it. However I already own a full sized Beretta M92FS 9mm and was wondering. Has anyone conceal carried a full sized handgun on the regular? Is it a viable thing for daily carry? What sort of Holsters would I be looking at? For reference so no one recommends tiny ass guns, I'm

Jesus Christ you fat piece of shit

I..I lift a lot!

Some people do, personally I would find it amazingly uncomfortable with the size/weight. I'd go with a lighter fullsize for carry. Also keep in mind you'll have to dress around it in the summer, you'll be printing if just wearing a t shirt so if you're in Soccermom USA it might be an issue. Also keep in mind you're probably fine if you are standing still taking a selfie in front of your filthy fucking mirror, but it's not as easy if you're reaching to the top shelf to grab the family size bag of cool ranch like you probably do. And dude for crissakes stop dipping that shit in queso, it's bad enough for you as is.

God damned I'm catching flak for mentioning my weight. Thanks for the info though.

Attached: femmea10.jpg (1200x738, 215K)

I carry a full size often. Either a Glock 17 or 21. No problems. I'm 6" 240.

>31.2 BMI
>"I'm catching flak for mentioning my weight"
Stop being fat. You need to lose at least 50 pounds.

Are tokarev and star bm actually decent ? I'd like a cheap first gun for self defense and mild hobbyist.

Is there a tokarev in a more common/cheaper caliber

I carry full size and compact (basically full size) in the winter and fall, but even then only on occasion. Sub compacts are so much easier to conceal and are far more comfortable.

I like Sig's and the P365 has even become my go to over this winter. Thing is, they are much harder to shoot well, I started with a compact fwiw.

Good luck and be safe

welcome to Jow Forums fatso

I can tell you that I'm done buying holsters without a claw or adjustable ride height and cant.

Funny story about BMI.
>go to VA for 5 year physical in the middle of winter
>height, weight, blood pressure, blood oxygen all taken by nurse
>wait
>doc comes in staring at her clipboard
>"yeah you're morbidly obese you need to lose like 80lbs"
>uh, excuse me, what?
>she looks up
>"oh. Well, you could still probably stand to lose a little weight, but sorry about that"
I'm 5'10". I weigh 210lbs, which puts me at ~30 BMI. I also used to be hardcore addicted to weight lifting and naturally keep a shitload of muscle because of my current and previous jobs. I won't claim I have a 6-pack or anything (I'm almost 50 anyway) but I still wear 30" waist pants and medium shirts because I've got a set of shoulders, a good chest, and treetrunk legs. According to the pinch test I'm around 19% bodyfat, which still isn't good by any stretch but is damn sure not obese.

Laser stippling is cheating, it's not fair, can't make fun of the person's skill when they press a button on a machine.

It's a good gun. LEM is alright, it's purpose is to give a consistent trigger pull first to last shot without being an obnoxious DAO. But there are a gorillion striker fired guns out now that do the same thing, without the super long takeup or creepy break. Are you married to a hammer fired gun or are strikers an option?

Not regularly but sometimes, in a shoulder holster. Full size prints too much to conceal anywhere on my expansive waist.

Honestly you'll have to experiment yourself, especially with your unusually large body. Everybody's different, carry different sizes in different places, and you'll have to weigh comfort, concealability and gun size against one another to find a method, gun, and location you like best. It sucks because that can be an expensive quest, but it's the only way to find what works best for you.

Might as well start with what's popular though; subcompacts carried appendix inside the waistband, or compacts/full size carried inside the waistband somewhere between 1:00 and 4:00 (or 7:00 and 11:00) on your strong side hip.

I like pocket carry with single stacks best. It's no bs, no futzing or worrying about NDs, just toss a holstered gun in the pocket and go.

Tokarev is good, Star is okay (some things on them break and they are old and hard to find parts for). If you want a cheap new gun, check the pastebin in OP, there are a lot of options under $300.

Attached: cheapies.jpg (2000x1333, 836K)

I want to buy a 1911 for around 800 or less.

I don't want a perfect historical recreation 1911 but I also dont want tacticool shit.

I like stainless and blued finishes and dislike weird colors. Park is OK but id prefer a less easily scratched finish.

I want full size 1911 and won't be carrying it it is for range use only.

I really think I want a Ruger SR1911 but every time I bring it up to the fudds at my local range they try to steer me towards S&W, Colt or Springfield.

What are some good options for me?

>Jow Forums
>assuming random autists on the internet are actually ripped and not fat sacks of shit parked in their (mom's) basements

Ruger, a NOS or used Para, Remington R1.

Got something against basements? Come let me show you something, follow the smell

Attached: rapement.jpg (2000x1333, 728K)

I like my Remington R1, the bluing is beautiful. I'd also recommend looking at Rock Islands. I've never shot an SR1911 but from what I've read people like them.

Rock Island Armory and Ruger

I'm 6'0" about 175 pounds and I carry a P226 more often than not. I carry it IWB and almost always with a collared overshirt to help conceal it. I've never had any problems, I don't mind the extra heft, but also the smallest guns I regularly CC are an H&K compact and a P225 so the 226 doesn't really feel like a huge step up.

>6'6"
Not really

> 210lbs
> 30" waist
> Medium shirts
How is this possible. Similar height, but even when I was 170lbs in boxing I had to wear larges and had a 32" waist. You're made of Uranium, dude.

Attached: Two handguns.jpg (2390x1536, 1.38M)

Bulky thighs and calves from 20 years rucking in the Army. Huge forearms and shoulders from my job and jacking off. Most medium polos are pretty snug in the shoulders but fit properly in the chest, gut, and waist.

I do have to wear loose-fit jeans though, 30/32s in something like a Levi 541 and I can't even get them up past my knees, the legs are too skinny. 505s are my preferred jean.

>S&W
I'm fine with modern upgrades like the extended beavertail, but the Smith's external extractor and fish scale serrations upset my autism.

>Colt
Living on name recognition and Boomers buying up all their rereleases for their collection of guns that are sure to go up in value one day.
That said, their Competition model is decent, though you're paying the Colt tax. I wouldn't bother with anything higher.

>Springfield
Did a big oopsie that people have yet to forgive them for. If that doesn't deter you, then their Loaded models of 1911s are objectively good and has all the upgrades you want and none that you don't need.

>Ruger
Own one, uses a lot of cast and MIM parts, but it's a solid entry 1911.

Looking at getting a light for my gun.

I'm thinking of getting a Streamlight brand product, maybe a TLR-7, pic related isn't MY gun, but it's the same gun as I own, CZ-P07.

Wondering if it would be worth it to get the TLR-8 for the laser or if the laser would just be a silly gimmick I would never actually use.

Also what's the opinion on weapon mounted lights anyway?

>if it would be worth it to get the TLR-8 for the laser or if the laser would just be a silly gimmick I would never actually use.

Lets hope you never have to use it user. Lasers make sense to me but I don't actually own one

Surefire

Which one is comparable to the TLR-7?

Why do people put the gay tape on their pistol

because they're queers?

Seems a bit long don't you think? I am planning to CC this

>XC1
Oh, I was looking at a HolsterCo Stealth LB as the pistol, the only Surefire brand light they have compatibility for is the X300U, A or B model.

Are there any other brands that offer compatible holsters for a CZ-P07 with lights?

Well lm a skinny guy and 6ft2 and dont bother with a holster and just appendix carry. But I dont sweat that much. I carry either a 92fs a usp model 59(rarely) or a glock 19

Mexicans don't reach 6-2

Boy you should use a holster

don't be
always use a holster

> front to back
Like the slide moves half an inch backwards out of battery? or like the front of the slide and the back of the slide move half an inch side to side(aka .25" of side to side play)? if it's side to side play then that's a bit excessive but if the gun shoots fine its probably a non issue, contact H&K to see if it's within their acceptable margins for the pistols tolerances and deal with it. if the gun moves half an inch out of battery just by being shaken then thats a very serious concern and i'd stop using the gun immediately. The disconnector should theoretically prevent an OOB but that's still very not ok and sounds like your guns lockup is seriously messed up.
Police trade in or used rugers would be a much better choice for a similar price or just a little more.
>maybe a TLR-7
Great choice for CCW, for HD or if you carry it innawoods a lot i'd probably go a little bigger like the tlr-1.

>I like pocket carry with single stacks best. It's no bs, no futzing or worrying about NDs, just toss a holstered gun in the pocket and go.

I pocket carry around the house but if it's in your pants you pretty much can't draw while sitting or running..

Just kick your leg out straight, roll a little onto your left side to present the pocket opening, and draw. Works fine for me as long as you have leg room, although it's definitely slower than something like appendix or shoulder carry.

I noticed the sitting issue in my car when I had to disarm for the Post Office

>6'4" dude
Works for me when im in the driver seat of my honda accord

Whats a decent holster then? They always seem to take up too much space and ride too high. Honestly just tucking it in my pants is ten times more comfortable. Gun also has a safety and double action pull. I dont cc my glock

YALL IT IS SO HARD TO (legally) GET A GUN IN DC. fuck this stupid city

>legally
found your problem

finding the right holster takes time and trial and error, thats just the way it is unfortunately. Have you tried a hybrid holster yet?

It is dangerous to carry without a holster, seriously, amateur hour stuff right there user, stop.

smaller gun for carry will do wonders for comfort.

no doubt. it's actually fucking insane the process they make you go thru, no less than 17 steps. excellent deterrent.

do all 17, Don't Let Them Win

>ride too high
It's supposed tonride high enough to cleanly fit your 2nd knuckle between your pants and the holster, and no higher. Any ride-height adjustable holster will cover this. Off the top of my head, JM Custom, Vedder, and Tier 1 support it.

anyone here own an XD9? I hear the XD series of guns gets shit on by a lot of people from a whole range of reasons ranging from shit company to glock clone to retarded owners. I do see them around locally for really cheap so I might actually get one. Anyone here actually own one know if they are good or not?

oh i am, no worries

fuuuuck thats comfy.

I've seen guys blow me out of the water with them in competition, not that this says much. I do know one of them has at least 80k rounds on it.

Hell man, even the Turk clones are doing decent these days. Fuck brand tribalism, we live in a golden age of 9mm pistols.

Godspeed user, Best of Luck

I need help with my p80 I have trouble getting the slide past this position and if I do I can't rack the slide once it's where it needs to be I already grinded the locking block spring down it seems to be an issue with the slide rails

Attached: 20190305_154216.jpg (4032x3024, 3.22M)

Have star bm.

It's a good gun for 200$.
Great starting point

Just picked up a ruger SP101 in .357 with a 3in barrel. First wheel gun. I'm trying out some different ammo types right now but I would appreciate some insight.

So far I have tried:
>Hornady Critical Defense .38 SP+P, 110 gr
>Federal Micro HST .38+P
>Remington Golden Saber 357 Mag 125gr
>Hornady Critical Defense FTX 357 Mag 125 GR

Post pic of rails

take recoil spring out and try, eliminate that as a possibility

right?

Those seem fine. How about pic of the channel?

I have an HS2000, I like it a lot. The trigger is glocklike in that it has a lot of creep but it's very smooth and I could see how it would be easy to learn to be good with it. Build quality and ergonomics are excellent. user might tell you that XD grip safeties break and lock the gun up as though that's common but it's happened like 5 times ever, and always caused by user error (trying to rip the slide back without hitting the grip safety).

Honestly company politics are the only reason you'd ever want to avoid an XD, and that only if their reversal, apology, and money donated to counter their error means nothing to you.

That position is right where the recoil spring guide rod would encounter the block in the frame that you have to mill out, you may have done an incomplete job of it. It could also be the slide rails are extremely tight, mine definitely was and needed A LOT of filing, sanding and polishing to fit properly, front and rear.

That looks like a little too much material remaining on the left side, it might be catch the recoil spring guide rod or recoil spring.

Can you better describe what happens if you force the slide on and try to rack it?

Attached: HS51.jpg (2000x1333, 1.31M)

Yeah.

Yeah.

Have they fixed this fucker yet?

Attached: 365-product-on-white-7_1_1.jpg (765x600, 44K)

Too early to tell but I'm tired of waiting so I think I'm going to buy one the next time I get paid.

Used colt. Look at series 70

Short answer yes

Blew it

Anyone using a pocket holster? Realized that could be pretty good

I got an early one, it had issues, they fixed mine, I love it. I trust mine enough that is is my goto carry and even sits on the nightstand at night because lazy. love that thing

Desantis nemesis is the most popular choice and is very well respected

p10c optic ready vs 19 MOS? for CCW

Zastava makes a tok in 9mm
Although I would Israeli carry it tho

Remington SJHP 125 357
Check out the ballistic gel videos - shit is nasty

Well l’ll look around l guess. The 92fs and USP are comfortable without a holster to be honest. I guess l’ll just find a beretta holster. I have cc holsters for my glock and smith that are decent but the way the 92fs rides without a holster is very comfortable. I also get that comfort isnt exactly the priority

Hello frens I’ve wasted a good deal of time researching to no avail. I recently purchased an M9a1 as a nightstand gun - it’s great, I love it. But I need a carry gun that is ALSO da/sa to match. For my body shape the slide width is the most important dimension for concealability (rather than weight/grip length).

Can someone recommend me a da/sa 9mm with a thin slide (like 1911)? Thanks!!

Check out JM custom

Nice, looking now ty

Can someone explain the QLS system like I'm retarded? If I got a holster that's outfitted with a QLS fork, what else do I need to mount directly to a standard rigger belt?
