Homemade weapons

Designing a magazine fed crossbow rn, can I get some help on the feeding system so that the bolt doesnt get in the way of the bowstring? Bolts are 2in by 1/4 in, so I think a detatchable mag could work.
Post your own homemade weapons if you want

I think of it like an entire bloc clip in a Garand or Carcano. You would need a lock or lever to keep the bolt in the msg down, until the first bolt fires and you pull the string back again. Or maybe just make it a button to push after pulling the string back for the next round

In Joerg's design, the bowstring rides along the bottom of the groove, so it rides under the point of the bolt when cocking, pushing the bolt up just a hair as it goes under it. Then when it's fully cocked, the bolt just falls back down into position.

the problem solver that solves the real (((problem)))

Thanks fellas, I drew a single loader thing earlier but it used a charging handle to push the bolt from the magazine to a little lifting area, wherein it would be ready to fire. I think it'll work, but I want to make it feed from stripper clips, the bolts are basically just wooden dowels with tips, carving a rim into them shouldn't be hard I dont think.

Awesome threads still up

I figured out the secret to a bolt action and blowback.

bolt action
>Bolt has to lock into a trunnion or solid receiver
>barrel has to be locked tight into the receiver via threads or barrel pin (like an AK)
>locked tight as a padlock
>no slop
>the casing cannot move period
>the type of locking lugs are dependent on chamber pressure (22 lr or 38 vs 30-06 or 7.62x54r

Pic related. Ed is the bolt.

Blowback
>Barrel and trunnion have to be sealed tight on the receiver
>same with the back end of the receiver
>cartridge that fires shoves against the bolt
>the bolt has to have a certain weight and spring pressure to cycle reliably, depending on the bullet weight and powder load

Heres my 9mm subgun build off an aims74 kit.

Idk what to do with this info, it's a crossbow not a rifle

The subject was about homemade weapons. And I've also noticed that a lot of hobbyist gunmakers have problems have had problems trying to come up with something that isn't a single shot. So, I just wanted to put the information out there for reference, to help anyone who is in the same dilemma I'm in.

Btw, I'm the guy doing the Volksgewehr project. It's going to be in 30-06, and I don't want it to blow up in my face either.

Take a look at this thread.

How would one go to make a barrel with spin?
Seems to be the hardest part for me
Also what can generally be used as a barrel material wise? Milling is possible but one would need a mill for that
How far do pipes go?
Is casting from bronze an option? The barrel would probably need to be massive
I thought about a revolver drum shotgun for a relatively easy multishot design

Interesting...

The problem with that one is that it's prone to jamming and hard to aim. More like a bolt action than an smg is what I want

Try Joergs take on the an ancient chink lever action crossbow: youtu.be/KWaXpWi2GE4

>smg
modern tech demands you have a slingbow and have one on each loaded arrow...

basically a lightened aluminum arrow using dense slingshot rubbers, lined up with guide whisks for ease of loading and a release mechanism trigger that goes down each one to fire

Joerg made some videos with magazine fed crossbows, but you would want a bottomfed one with springs, so I'd maybe make a system where the string pulls back a mechanism that pushes an arrow upwards and when the crossbow shoots, it stops it from going up until it is pushed back again and the crossbow can fire. Also, how are you going to stack the arrows?

have fun

we're good.

double stack, cant but the bolt in line with the bowstring cause the mag lips will get in the way, but want double stack for the possibility of stripper clips.

sorry for lazy drawing. Obviously you would need a firing grove for the bow string as well.
