Pic unrelated

Glock 19. It's a boring answer, but it's a boring answer because it's the most common good, reliable handgun for around $500. Was this really something you couldn't google?

Taurus g111
My first handgat
They are basically an off brand glock with a manual safety
Safety is pointless but it’s accurate and ergonomic and it goes bang
It will also eat cheap ammo
And the money you save on the pistol will allow you to buy a big box of fmj and some hollowpoints
You shoot FMJ at bears and targets
You shoot hollow points at two legged animals

For fun
Vaquero
For practical carry
LCP2

Was hoping for some insiders opinions

>lcp
Are you high?

There is so many its tough to count

Any Glock that isn’t a longslide or MOS
Any Ruger, used or new from their founding to the present
SW Sigma/SW9VE (lots of SW is shit nowadays tread lightly)
Hi Point
Beretta
Used Sig Sauers (especially in 40 for the price)

Countless others I’m sure I’m forgetting about too. I don’t like them, but even an M&P shield is a decent gun for that price range

CZ p10c
Glock 17/19
M&P shield
Ruger lc9s

Dirt cheap and great
Ruger security 9

I’m this guy. Posted before I saw that. Rugers are the best. Get a P-Series or really anything else by them. Best guns for the best prices on the market. Half of what I own is Ruger for very good reason

Browning buckmark or a leinand 410 derringer

Sigma is kind of shit. A broke jamals glock. Not hi point broke, more like "child support on 6 baby mommas while the crack game is in a drought" broke
Wouldnt reccomend/10 simply on the grounds their is better guns oit their for the orice you pay.

The second version is good

WALTHER PPQ ;_;
IT'S A GOOD GUN, I PROMISE

Almost every gun company manufactures a gun in that price range that is both reliable and accurate. In fact it would be easier to tell you the ones not to get: any Taurus, any Remington, any DiamondBack. I also wouldn't pick up a Hi-Point either, but they are really functional guns. I own a Glock 43, and I would also go with a Ruger, Smith & Wesson, Springfield, FN, Beretta, CZ, Sig, HK, Khar, or Walther. Not in that order, mind you, that's just what I thought about the top my head. I would definitely recommend going out to your local gun store and holding them seeing which one fits the best in your hand.

>Good, reliable pistol/handgun for under/around $500?

That's like asking if there's a good book to read at the library.

Bersa .380 ACP Thunder 380

Any modern firearm, pick something that's easy to learn and has a lot of community support / knowledge of.

Smith and Wesson SD9VE, any used smith autoloader, browse the used section to see first, Glock is fine, surplus is fine too, don’t be afraid to get a full size and then work your way down.

The 500-600 dollar range is the sweet spot for pistols, any lower you're losing quality, and higher you get no extra benefit for combat use.

Glock (huge variety of options. All excellent)
HK vp9
S&w m&p
Walther ppq
Beretta 92fs

You can't go wrong with any of these, just do your research. Better to buy one of the excellent guns above and have it last a lifetime than buy cheap stuff that won't. Cry once buy once.

Canik TP9 SF/SFX best trigger under 500 Imo and the SFX is pretty much a competition gun out of the box

VP9
