Very reasonable choice when you think about it. There's a reason truly massive animals don't tend to be sprinters, if you could get a T-Rex to run full tilt into a puddle of lube on some sort of hard surface he'd shatter a whole lot of important bones when he went down. You only really need to hit it's head a bunch with some rifle rounds, not like its bones are bulletproof. Any 308 gun would do just fine. Hell you could probably do it with a drum mag of 5.56 shirtless with a headband, on full auto and yelling the whole time as you empty the other 9/10s of you magazine into a dead T-rex.
