What are the essential tools, in your opinion, for building an AR?
Alcohol
A visa, american express or mastercard and a link to BCM or LMT.
Torx driver, a flat head, a UBR gen 1, and the LMT catalog
armorer's wrench
vice
some sort of block to hold the upper and lower in the vice without damage, individually
come and get it
>vice
The other user already said alcohol.
lel
put
put that rmr on your scope mount
>have gucci SBR AR-15
>can’t decide if I should get a 14.5” SR-15 or a Volquartsen Scorpion in .22lr
Does bcm do any sales?
HOT DOG SELECTOR
no
seriously hope you brought ketchup and relish to go with that jumbo fucking ballpark plump when you cook it hotdog
What height mount you got your k16i in? Trying to get an idea of how much room I need to clear for BUIS under that fuck big eyepiece.
Standard?
Not really sure. But since I run optics so far forward, clearing buis isnt a problem.
>not owning a unique AR in 7.62x39
>acog that high up with no cheek riser
literally unusable
7.62x39 mags look weird.
anyone here try the Radian Raptor SL ?
how does it compare to the standard size ?
Just full size ones. Never had an issue with them snagging, not sure id get a benefit from smaller leversa
>buying an AR instead of an SG 551
Lmao poorfags. Might as well suck a fat pile of shit off an AIDS dick while you’re at it.
Any anons who have both, how does the TA31 compare to the TA33? I have a 33, thinking of grabbing a 31.
Whats an sg 551?
>buying nu-sig
haha good one, enjoy your made in india parts
SCC so you going to buy this thing or what?
I like this picture. Rifle needs an ambi selector. Sandman K or S? You see my post about getting an E-Brake?
Roll pin punches, castle nut wrench, torque wrench, vice, vice blocks, channel lock pliers, razor blade, misc screw drivers and allen/hex keys.
Comfy image. I gotta build my 14.5"
Acog is just collecting dust in the meantime.
>this is the level of intelligence to be expected from ARfags
lmfao
Vise, user.
Isn't the 551 old sig?
Convince me to get a Steiner p4xi over another Burris XTR II
Where can I get a pool noodle for cheap to make a cheek riser out of?
Just build one out of even more electrical tape
can I play too?
Nonsense, depressing the pivot and take down pin does not require tools
nice wuggy clone
It'll be a wuggy clone when I turn 21 and SBR the bitch
What optic is that? SRS? Is it real? I like the look of it on there.
Get a shooting site trigger. Very nice upgrade.
What is the point of mounting the VFG six slots away from the end of an already short rail? More importantly, what made you think a permanent A2 pistol grip was a good idea
It's a bootleg I got at the gunshow a while back for like 50 bucks. I do like the look, but I just got the rifle a week ago and I still don't know if I want to a red dot or something with magnification. I plan on it, but I found the factory trigger to be sort of nice, honestly. It's heavy, but it has no creep at all, and is crisp as shit. I'm used to the trigger on my AK, FAL, and PTR, so that crispness is an upgrade.
Ill use duct tape to tape the noodle
>crisp as shit
Nice man that means you've likely got one of the newer models. The ARX factory trigger has gone through a couple of revisions, and the newest one is rather crisp, if a bit heavy. Don't worry about replacing it for now, but do consider getting a genuine optic on there. While the airshit SRS looks cool, it simply isn't a real optic. If you're on a tight budget consider the Holosun HS503GU. Botach has them right now for $130 and they're a Great Value™ at that price. Alternatively troll tacswap for an Aimpoint PRO. Whatever optic you go with you want something that sits on the lower side. A quality LPVO wouldn't be a bad call. Acog wouldn't work too hot though. Magnification or red dot really comes down to intended use. BTW if you chop it make sure to do 11.5" not 10.5" like I did.
How long have you had it for? I like my ARX, and honestly have been planning on getting a second one.
That way you have more redundancy tape
One of the best upgrades though is the factory beretta charging handle extension. It is a little plastic nub that clips on to the factory charging handle and makes it MUCH nicer to use. Only $30. Try to snag one. Very good upgrade.
Is this too edgy?
Check out these sweet recent images of Italian SF with ARXs and Elcans. Buddy showed me these.
I'm probably going to go with a red-dot, since I've got 3 other rifles with magnified optics, and I'm probably going to get an EXPS3, since I love the reticle and the overall look of the sight.
It must be new, because I took everything apart and there's basically no wear on any of the parts. Even the bolt face looks new. Only put 90 rounds through it, but I'm gonna go out this weekend and tear things up. I've owned a bog-standard AR and an XCR prior to this and I like this thing more than both of those.
Yes.
If you put it on an AR chambered in 9mm Parabellum then it cancels out some of the edge.
Eotech should look pretty neat and futuristic on there. One thing to consider though is to make the most of the light weight and just go with a micro red dot. It'll sit nice and low, plus be nice and light.
Glad you're enjoying it. They're neat guns. You mess with the barrel swap mechanism? Very cool IMO. Same with the charging handle side swap and the ejection side swap.
god, I love the look of the Elcan, but that price tag is something I just can't get behind. I want one, but I don't want one that bad, lol.
It isn't worth it IMO and IME.
I have, and I noticed that with the stock folded and barrel taken off, the thing is only 17 inches long, so I'm gonna buy one of these SE720 cases to carry it around in. It's large enough to where the optic will fit without being removed and there'll be room for mags and possibly a pistol. The place I work is a dealer for the cases, so I'm gonna have my boss buy one at dealer price then I'll pay him back for it. Saves me 30 bucks, lol
I want an upper like pic related. Fix carry handle, 14.5" pencil preferably, mil cut is also acceptable. Prefer the rear sight to be A1. Closest I've found is this
armsunlimited.com
Does anyone make a prebuilt upper like I'm describing.
What weight buffer do you think would be good with this upper?
aeroprecisionusa.com
I emailed Aero and they just said "carbine". That sounds like bullshit to me because pistols usually require heavier buffers. They didn't even give me a weight when I specifically asked for one.

Its a sandman k
The nomad ebrake mates up well on a sandman if you are using a can coozie.
Is the typical AR .223 or 5.56? Idk which to pick
PISS AND PISS ON SCARANON DAILY
Buy my TA31-CH
Don't overthink it. Start with carbine. If gun is over gassed, go heavier. Go lighter if action doesnt lock open on empty mag.
5.56
I want to find more lightweight barrels like pic related, with a .750 gas block contour. I can only find this one and it's stainless; I prefer melonite.
Ill give you $550
What are the best steel mags I can buy in bulk that are around Pmag price?
800 OK sounds good
Okay Industries USGI or Brownells 10/$100
Don’t forget to use code garandthumb for an extra 1/3% off
Thanks
Reminder to stop giving CatFucker aka OrangeCat (you)s, so he stops posting his adopted dad's guns. Also watch out posting your cats because that sick fuck will masturbate to them.

Does the URX4 have any sort of anti-rotation feature or is it strictly held in place due to torque? Also what is up with that gimpy first rail section? You'd think KAC would do better than that.
Faggot bitch
Trip on trAsh
Strictly sheer torque values. Also it's designed to pair with KACs upper forgings
Nice Ash clone
You keep him. He's one of you anyway. Also take ash too.
>Also it's designed to pair with KACs upper forgings
Clearly it doesn't do that well.

Don’t greentext me or my sr15 ever again
I'm calling Ash's mom today.

Record it
Imagine the smell
>lightweight barrels like pic related, with a .750 gas block contour.
Why
Look at other images of SR15s and they have the same issue
How does Jow Forums feel about skeletonized AR-15s? I rather like the look
dumb
Looks kool. Dirt isn't (reportedly) a problem. F1 has fantastic receivers all-around. Why not make a match gun out of it?
i got one 2 weeks ago i think its worth it... crispy glass...no moving parts internally so its truly "bomb proof"
>Looks kool
It doesn't
thats like the poverty tier shit they sell at gun shows.
You can't tell me this thing isn't sexy
According to /arg/
All ARs are hideous dogshit
getting gas and shit blasted all over my face through the cuts in the upper sounds amazing. I cant imagine how reliable it is in real world use when all sorts of sticks and bullshit gets into those cuts.
That grip is such a retarded design. You could make a stronger and lighter one with the normal shell construction, like a magpul k-series. The rest of those cuts aren't saving much weight either, it would be more efficient to just optimize wall thicknesses. Sure they look cool but you can tell by how evenly spaced and uniform they are that it's lazy design work, a real engineer would take that thing into an FEA program.
