Ithaca 37 Thread (Slam Fire Edition)

Post your Ithaca 37’s (other Slam Fire shotguns allowed).

I just bought an Ithaca 37 slam fire the other day for $80. I plan on replacing the furniture and duracoating it combat gray.

Here’s the Ithaca I got. Previous owner already removed the bluing and everything

Damn user
Nice find

The stock has a few cracks so I plan on getting a polymer set. Furniture is crazy expensive for these, only ones I can find for a reasonable price are Choate.

Bought mine from a friend last summer

Take note that older Ithacas have longer and thicker stock tangs than newer ones.

This one was made in 1949. You think it has a longer tang?

My M37 featherlight is also from 49 and it has the larger tang. You just have to enlarge the hole a bit and use a washer or two to get it to fit.

I have a dremel so I can make the polymer set work in case the dimensions are off

>bought an Ithaca 37 slam fire the other day for $80.
I'm jealous op I'm still without a shotgun and have had an eye on an Ithica or 1897 but I keep buying fucking ars.
Looks beautiful.

How did you find it at such a good price? Where do you look for these?

Got this for $100 because someone had poorly cut the barrel to 19". I sent it out and got it properly cut to 18.5" and a brass bead put on. It's from 1949.

Is it normal for model 37 foreends and action bars to drag a little? I lined up and tweaked it as precisely as I could but it still rubs. It's not like my old Winchester 12 that would just fall open when you hit the release.

Noob question but what's the difference between the trenchgun model and the featherlight? Guessing one was just civvie and the former was specifically police?

Trench gun had a heat shield and bayonet lug made for the Army during WW2, plus a heavier barrel.

The featherlight was the standard bird gun sold commercially.

How much did it cost for you to have it cut properly and the bead installed?

I did some crazy trading for it. Don’t worry about it ;)

Different user, but I want one too. Damn.

Only picture I have, 20 gauge Ithaca 37 next to my A5

Featherlight had a lightened steel receiver and was the basis for the Stakeout. Featherweight had an aluminum receiver. Trenchgun was a standard M37 with a heavier barrel and heat shield with bayonet lug.

$20 plus shipping from this guy: randywakeman.com/shotgunMikeOrlen.htm

He basically only does business over the phone. I'm not entirely happy with the cut since it wasn't very well finished, but the bead looks nice.

Bump

Closest I've got are ithica clones but good taste regardless

nice kotter

Thanks, I love him, but he's a giant vagina when it comes to sudden noises like neighbors etc. Definitely a barn cat but he's otherwise super lovable and chill.

77Es?

A guy a know has a Remington model six that he insist slam fires. I can’t really find anything about it but thought it was made after slam firing became illegal to make. Does anyone know

No one is allowed to post in this thread because I havent got mine yet and I dont want to be reminded of that

Checked, beautiful piece. Make and model?

Although not a M37, I just bought a Savage Model 720 U.S. marked riot gun for $550.

>Make and model?
>Ithaca 37 Thread (Slam Fire Edition)

>$80
how the fuck? I'm this close to paying $350 for one in excellent condition

>(other Slamfire Shotguns allowed)

Slamfire is cool but semiauto is better desu

Attached: Shotguns.jpg (3640x2305, 3.87M)

Agree but I really didn't like my M2. Loading and feeding was painful and spare barrels were absurdly expensive. Bought an 1100 with two barrels for $180 and didn't look back.

Attached: DSC_1153.jpg (2242x693, 274K)

>buying an m2 when the m1/3/4 exist
You got memed by the worst of that series

Attached: relaxin.jpg (4032x3024, 2.92M)

Fuck yeah slamfire gats
Grabbed this 1897 a while ago for 200, eventually I'll find a spare barrel for a WW2 trench gun clone, but for now it's just a fun scattergat.
The 30" barrel is too damn long though.

Attached: SmartSelect_20190309-211604_Gallery.jpg (1070x512, 568K)

Sell me the 30" assembly for 18" funds

M1 and M2 are nearly identical, M3 is a meme, M4 costs a fortune and weighs a ton.

It was pretty sexy though.

Attached: DSC_0794sm.jpg (2304x1536, 791K)

The M1 and M3 have more interchangable parts than the M1 and M2 tho, the M2 is a 3gun shotgun, the M1 is for policeybois

I live for these threads.

Attached: Ith.jpg (2448x3264, 1.91M)

What? The M3 is a pump action hybrid. The M2 is just a buffed M1.

Yea but the M1 and M2 have very few interchangeable parts
Also the M2 is uglier cause of the different stock, receiver, and trigger assembly

Honestly, I would if it wasn't numbers matching. That's why I'm looking for a spare, I'd hate to chop the original up.

I wish I hadn't sold my American Standard riot shotgun that looks similar to OPs pic.
A good Ian quote.

i.4cdn.org/wsg/1552191307213.webm

What's the point of having a slamfire pump shotgun ? So your buddy blows your foot off?

>What's the point of
The usual prefix of a stupid question

I didn’t know Satan was a fucking retard

>not owning the superior model 12 slam fire
pic related is you

In my area Ithaca 37s are either ratty field models or waxed blued fudd with inflated prices.

I just bought an ithaka 37 featherlight for the sake of cutting it and making it a trenchgun, will it function ok after i cut the barrel and put on the heatshield?

slamfiring isnt illegal to manufacture dipshit

Love to shoot this thing because I shoot wronghanded

Attached: 20190310_012418.jpg (4032x3024, 3.13M)

It's so odd to hear him swear now.

Is it possible to use a choke adapter and suppress these?
How much would a slamfire capable 1973 Featherweight 12 gauge be worth, in excellent condition?

gang gang

Slammit Dammit. that's about the nicest sc@tter matter I've seen on 4grand

Please dont replace the furniture and cost it grey. It isnt a fucking tacticool shotgun leave it the way it is.

I've got a Model 10. It's kinda like the Model 37s grandpa.

Slamfire and is a takedown gun. Pretty neat.

Attached: 20181228_134651.jpg (2576x1932, 1.79M)

Dammit I regret selling my Model 12.

Yours looks great.

Attached: 20180106_102346.jpg (2576x1932, 2.87M)

Don't ruin that beautiful gun with craptastic furniture and duracoating it. That's great walnut and blued steel that you don't see made very often anymore and never for $80

What are the going prices for the trench gun models? Or is it wholly acceptable to bubba a featherlight into a trench?

anyone? Is a full fixed choke something a salvo 12 can work on?

Bump

Metal has been sanded and scratched a lot so it won’t look that good blued. Also the original walnut will cost me $250

hahaha based ian
btw i don't know a lot about guns but is that an ithaca?

I can't find a model 1897 for less than $600. I've also heard you can't fire modern buckshot or slugs from them, so I'm not going to get one. Norinco makes a clone but I think you can't import it any more so they aren't cheap.

I've seen nothing in the $200-$300 range everyone is talking about.

How easy is it to get someone to shorten the barrel in these things? All the old ones on gunbroker have meme barrels.

Leaf here. I've seen plenty of Ithaca featherlights for $300-500 and a couple of M12s for about the same. My guess is that all of those are the civvie models.
