Was he the best general of all time?

He wasn’t the best of all time but he was the most based of all time

He wasn't even the best American general of WWII

>Hannibal Barca
>Hamlicar Barca
>Scipio Africanus
>Alexander the Great
>Pyrrhus of Epirus
>Julius Caesar
>Surena
>Epaminondos
>Xenophon
Nigger this is just off the top of my head and restricting myself to Antiquity. Patton isn't even anywhere near the top 100.

>"sir we already lost hundrets of men trying to get in this fort, what are your orders ?"
>"forts sucks anway, I didnt even want to take it from the beginning"

Not even close and the only reason he's shilled for here is because he said some bad things about Jews or something so Jow Forums kids love him.
He was a fine corps-level commander, but nothing exceptional.

Best of The Great Patriotic War

This. I still thank that sack of shit Eisnenhower had him killed because he had the nerve to call Ike the Kike out on letting the yellow commie monkeys rape a million white women

That's not Georgy Zhukov.

kys commie

Holy shit no. Not even top 10 US

Julius Caesar was the greatest commander of all time, which is why his name means “king” in several different langauages.

Always remember, the best offense is a good defense.

yep fpbp

>i wuv him becwuse he cawwed out da meanie weanie jews
Fucking kys you stupid niggers, Krauts deserved everything they got during the war. Also why don't you faggots think Lucius Flavius Silva or Emperor Titus are based since they literally killed a fuck load of Jews? Oh wait, that would require you niggers to actually read some fucking sources for once in your lives and we all know room temp IQ wheraboos can't do that. Day of the Rope can't come soon enough so we can finally get rid of you subhumans along with the rest of the socialist niggers.

>A Bridge Too Fart

Can't unsee.

jesus fucking christ you brap posters are the fucking worst. i wish you were all genocided in car garages with the exhaust pipes superglued to each and every one of your mouths, then maybe we could have a decent thread without you shits derailing it.

No, but he is one of the best of the last century. His accomplishments speak for themselves.
He was right about the Soviets, on top of that.

IMAGINE

Attached: imagine.jpg (702x527, 62K)

blaming jews for patton's shit driving is literally pic related

Attached: 367788444.png (444x638, 245K)

>Krauts deserved everything they got during the war
Agreed
Not a wheraboo user, I just think he was based cause he wanted to push the Soviet’s shit in after Germany fell.

Google "Bonus Army". Read the article, and then tell me that you think this prima-donna POS is as great as everyone else thinks

>Pyrrhus of Epirus
Eh. Does Pyrrhus really belong on that list?

>ctrl F
>no Napoleon

Fuck Jow Forums, step up your game

He wasn't driving, would you please go watch a documentary. We live in this wonderful age of information on demand, but yet some how you're still a fucking moron.

Your expecting to much.

>Alex
>Hannibal
>Khalid ibn Walid
>Sururov
Are the best tacticians in history. Alex was also the King and commander in chief, so only the latter three would technically fit the definition of general

Hannibal and Robert E. Lee

Imagine having seen Hitler utterly crushed by the Soviets and thinking "Hmmm I can totally beat them though"

What happened at zama was just luck.
Barca was way better.

General Mattis

I used to think "Zhukov just had so many resources that he threw enough shit at the wall to knock it down. Anyone could order a massive wave of men and tanks to push West," then when I started learning more about his career, I see he had a very high level of skill. Having a lot of manpower means nothing if you cannot organize and use them effectively.

Patton was disgusted by the camps, btw

he was just a loudmouth.

>I didn't learn anything at the end, then what I had already knew at the beginning
Too bad his enemies learned something new

I’d say he made his own luck

“Waterloo was a damn close-run thing.”

Even based Wellington thought Napoleon was close to a comeback

I like the way this guy did in ww2

Attached: 9788492567355.jpg (500x758, 91K)

Mattis completely failed to kick the mentally ill trannys out of the military. Females are still being shoved into special forces. America’s borders are still overrun. Did dog Mattis accomplish anything good? I guess wars for Israel are the only thing he cares about.

Someone forgot their meds today. Maybe you should consider drinking bleach to ease your internal strife.

fuck no, faggot

and a refreshing beverage in the US

He had interesting fashion sense.

And Napoleon had lost his zest by the time Waterloo came around. His veteran officers noted his plans were decidedly simple instead of the usual dipsy doodle

No, he wasn't.

You forgot someone

Not even close

user, Rex means king....

He probably thinks of Kaisar and Tsar.

well yeah, but that doesnt mean king at all etymologically speaking

Patton is just a bootleg Rommel

>two losers
lmao @ the state of you

It might not have been the best idea, but it was the right thing to do.

T.jidf

Well considering we would have damn near uncontested air superiority and nukes, it would have been easily doable.

You didnt have air superiority over russia and nuke production was slow. War wouldve been extremely costly and you werent going to defeat the soviets.

But Patton was all of those guys

Considering how much difficulty soviets had even against a crippled Luftwaffe, i have my doubts they could handle USAF swarming in.

fpbp

are you denying the holocaust?

I always thought the re-incarnation thing was kind of weird. Past lives or whatever. Why doesn't anyone ever get convinced they were a loser in a past life? There are like 7 billion people, not all of them could of been people, if they were they were the ones that never got laid or did anything important then got slaughtered. Politicians probably should have listened to him a bit better before he died.

Based Belesarius. Basil II should be there too. Though I guess he isnt really antiquity.

>Patton
>not MacArthur
Ooof

>Alexander the Great
yes
>Pyrrhus of Epirus
yes
>Epaminondos
apart from getting himself and his band of homos all killed
>Xenophon
*runs away*
Post antiquity is Subotai and Suvorov, never lost a battle, massive movements of massive numbers of troops.
WWII the best allied general was Hitler.

.05 shekels coming your way, benja-hah-meen.

Hamilcar slaughtered most of his troops instead of paying them. Hannibal was basically the antifa of antiquity. Scipio is totally antithetical to the last two you listed. Man wtf are you on about. The best generals are probably the ones you don't even hear about. You don't lose your buddies in a fight, and you keep quiet about how badly everyone else took casualties. Then you can slip by in a normal society somewhere without a sword of damoclese hanging over your head about revenge from someone.

>Alexander
Alexander the Great-at-following-his-father's-plans, maybe.

Attached: Phillip_II_of_Macedon.jpg (750x625, 45K)

Oh you!

Attached: 1475839676958.jpg (420x420, 25K)

Duke of wellington you freedomfag

Attached: DDAB776E-87A7-413E-A227-81F8DD42FDAD.jpg (935x900, 440K)

Oh come on you don't want to free scale a cliff at night for psychological warfare? They probably took less casualties falling to their death than a full scale battle.

>Putting hannibal before scipio
Heretic

Where does Andrew Jackson rank?
He defeated the most powerful army in the world with a ragtag band of misfits.

Attached: Andrew-Jackson[1].jpg (543x700, 46K)

Attached: kek 05.png (864x722, 264K)

is this list suppose to be ironic?

Labienus was also a great general, but Caesar took most of the credit. They were on par with eachother, both skilled strategists and tacticians.
They both knew eachother extremely well, so when they faced eachother, it got pretty spicy.

Jan Zizka
Subutai Khan
Oda Nobunaga
Alexander Surovov
Timur
Not exhaustive just spitballing here

Best general of all time (adjusted for accumulated historical knowledge) would be Napoleon. Revolutionary in strategy and organization and overal genius really.

There are so many great generals in history, it's hard to name them all. Probably many of them were not even documented: great tribal leaders became part of myth and legend, and many great leaders were forgotten by history after getting boned by external powers.

If you want to find generals, you have to be more specific in terms of region and historical period. Ranking figures from vastly different situations is fucking pointless.
